Everything was excellent-I wish you had a location closer to Oceanside! We had the hash, breakfast burritos and sweet potato pie-portions are large and they have a cute patio

As an SM resident, I try to stay from these tourist places, but when my sister was in town, I knew I couldn't get away, and I'm glad I didn't!
The food was delicious, and the coffee was terrific. Even the "small" cup of hot coffee is quite significant. My sister had the breakfast burrito, and I had the Eggs Salmone. The service is quick, and plenty of tables are outside and inside.
Clean bathrooms. Street parking. You can eat and then walk to the beach or down Main Street. -

I've heard about Urth Caffé before, so I checked it out while in the area. It was packed when I went at 12:30pm, but the line moved quickly and I ordered my food for dine-in.
I opted for the breakfast burrito and the Rising Sun matcha latte. It took a while to get my food, then drink, but then again, it was busy. Breakfast burrito was a bit on the small side, but it was packed with filling, including plenty of black beans. The salsa wasn't any special; it almost tasted like ketchup and was barely spicy.
The matcha latte came presented beautifully, but unfortunately lacked any matcha flavor: the chocolate overpowered the matcha and had a burnt taste to it. Not my favorite part of the meal.
Overall, my introduction to Urth fell a bit flat, but I'd give it another chance to try another dish and drink! -

I placed an online order for pickup today at 1:41pm. I got a breakfast burrito, tomato soup, a chocolate hazelnut cake and a banana crean pie. I picked up my order and asked if everything was in the bag, the lady at the pickup counter said everything was in there. 30 minute drive home just to find out that there was no chocolate hazelnut cake or banana cream pie, which I was really excited about. I called the restaurant, was on hold for 10 minutes, and the woman who I spoke to had a very rude tone, she asked me if I wanted to drive back to pick up the missing items they clearly forgotten or if I wanted a refund. Why would I drive back 30 minutes for your mistake and not even offer some sort of comp or anything for messing up on my order? She didn't even apologize and rushed to get off the phone. Very poor customer service!
**update the tomato soup tasted like a can soup from the store. The breakfast burrito was also inedible. Luckily i had leftover pizza that was better. -

You can't go wrong with Urth Caffé, and this location is nice because there is a large back patio and a side patio as well. Great for groups or just sitting and reading a book. However, indoor seating is extremely limited -- just two, two-person tables. The menu is huge! So many amazing juices, smoothies, lattes/coffees/teas, breakfast items, and lunch items. Plus a fully stocked pastry case.
I highly recommend the bean breakfast burrito with house-made salsa or the yogurt parfait, depending on what you're in the mood for. It seems hard to believe, but all of the pastries and smoothies are delicious. You really can't go wrong. I am a huge fan of the matcha tiramisu. If you have never had a Thai tea latte, it is also an absolute must. The lattes in general are beautifully crafted, and they offer lots of alternative milks.
Every time I'm near an Urth Caffé, I feel the urge to go. It has everything, and it all so well done, especially the customer service. A truly standout level of friendliness and such a versatile place that is unique in LA. -
Wasn't that impressed.
I ordered the breakfast burrito as a takeout. We didn't get a text or any notification. After we checked up on why this was the case, we got our food but seems like it was sitting out for awhile. The burrito was hardly warm.
The burrito itself was so lackluster. Pancetta was too hard, too much beans, and the tortilla was not soft at all. For the price, I'd have expected better.
It's a skip for me. -

Overall we had a great breakfast experience. The outdoor seating is very relaxed and shaded so I highly recommend sitting on one of there patios.
The price is reasonable for Californian. $27 for a breakfast burrito and açaí bowl.
It wasn't the best breakfast burrito in California but it was still good. Overall the atmosphere/vibe would bring me back! I do want to try their pastries!!! -

In my entire life I might have sent food back once. We ordered 2 breakfast burritos and they both arrived cold in the middle. Ok so we decided to send them back to either be remade or heated up. We received a new number from the counter and waited. After about 20 mins we went up to the counter to ask what was up with the food. The person at the counter said they have no record of our order even though she gave me #63 20 minutes ago. So she refunded our money and after spending an hour at the cafe no food. Very poor service.

We got a latte, a rainforest smoothie, and breakfast burrito. They were all good, but the overall experience was negative (which was on a Saturday, I'd be open to giving this place another try on a weekday).
It's a seat yourself environment, but the popularity of the restaurant isn't conducive for that set-up. You have to play that awkward game where you look for tables that are almost finished and stand near them until they leave. Between waiting in the line and then waiting for the food at the table it was overall a very long wait. The three things that we ordered were all delivered 10+ minutes apart from each other. Part of the delay I'm sure is because the servers have no idea where the food is going and it's a pretty big restaurant with three separate outdoor eating areas.
This restaurant could definitely make efficiency improvements to make the experience more positive. -

There was a short line when we got there on a Thursday afternoon. The worker getting our order was very helpful and kind.
It was tough finding a good spot because there were lots of people working on their laptop that had already finished eating. We eventually found a tight spot in between two walls, I could barely fit.
Anyway, it took quite some time to bring out the food but it was worth the wait. My omelet was tasty but it was missing some texture and was slightly cold. The salad, bread and coffee were delicious though. My girlfriend got the breakfast burrito and it was amazing, same with her matcha green tea with boba. I had some of hers (couldn't help it) and I wanted it all. Definitely worth trying both of those items from there menu.
To finish it off we ordered a Nutella bun and oh my gosh, I will be forever dreaming about those things. They're hard to cut into and its messy but the taste makes up for both and then some. I wish I would've ordered 20 to go.
Overall a really great spot to grab brunch, a coffee n pastry or even some boba while studying/working! -

i enjoy the coffee and more of the lunch/dinner menu. i ordered the breakfast potatoes and they were very cold. my friends who ordered them as well had the same problem. they also only taste like the peppers they were cooked with. i also ordered the classic breakfast burrito and it was just okay. overall not crazy about the breakfast menu and food. i recommend just getting a coffee and almond croissant.

One of my favorite "go-to" cafes. My favorite drink is the sunrise matcha latte. Cute place at the Main Street location. Service is always quick and never had any issues with my orders and I've been going for a long time. I've never been dissatisfied with any of my orders there from breakfast to lunch and desserts. I often get the el Diablo panini, margarita pizza, Or Turkey burger. I have also had the breakfast burrito, vegetable lasagna, and tomato soup. All things I'd get over again. Sticks to covid guidelines.

My favorite place when I want fresh and healthy food. I've always had amazing experiences dining here and I love that about them. The atmosphere is great and warming. My go to is the green tea boba and breakfast burrito for sure!

We always make a stop at Urth when I'm Venice. Great value for food and our kids love it. I recommend the breakfast burritos and the Mexican omelette. Paired with an oat milk cappuccino or a Spanish latte, the meal feels complete. I also recommend you try their juices.

Urth Santa Monica is another expansion of the DTLA location. Same menu and basic set up.
Street parking is $2 per hour, free before 9 am.
Ordering line is super tight. They have a such a small area to line up. The set up is super annoying like the Pasadena location. Ordering is really slow also. But food came out pretty fast. Order then you sit with your number.
Small amount of tables inside with a large outside patio.
Service was ok. For some reason I could not understand anyone working here, they mumble a lot and talk really low.
Rude Awakening, medium - $3.60 - Coffee and espresso mix. Pretty basic.
Rising Sun Matcha Latte, medium - $5.50 - Good matcha latte with a shot of espresso. And it has milk art on top. Got less sweet which cut out some of the sugar level.
Breakfast Burrito - $9.25 - Good simple burrito. Great portion size. My usual go to here for breakfast.
Mushroom Omelet - $10.95 - Decent sized omelet. Topping were as listed. Tasted really watery and bland. Not good at all.
Matcha Muffin - $3.15 - Matcha everything here!
DTLA is still my favorite location. -

Absolutely love Urth Caffé. This is now a must stop on every trip to Santa Monica. Everything is so good, it's hard to decide. The Spanish latte was recommended to us by a nice guy sitting on the patio the first time we came, and we've ordered it ever since. The avocado toast is wonderful, topped w/ almond cheese and micro greens, and the bakery items are decadent, especially the Nutella Girella buns - so tasty. New favorite us the breakfast burrito. Can't go wrong with the quiche of the day, either.
For lunch, the salads and sandwiches are all delicious, especially the Paradise salad and turkey sandwich with side salad. The cute patios are a lovely place to enjoy your coffee or meal, there's pleasant music playing, and heat lamps for chilly mornings. LookIng forward to our next visits! -

My son and I went to Urth a couple of weeks ago for breakfast. We ordered an iced tea, a latte, granola and a burrito. The granola was great. Yay. The burrito was not edible. The ingredients were not distributed in the burrito. They did not drain the liquid from the black beans, so it ran through the tortilla. I used four napkins and three plates to sop up bean water. There was a dollop of guacamole hidden somewhere in the burrito. It was basically hard cooked scrambled egg with bean soup. Yuck. Our drinks didn't come. I asked the wait staff. They said drinks were on their way. After my son finished his granola (burrito still not edible), I went up front to speak to the manager. When the manager got to the table, the drinks arrived. By then we had to go. The manager took my name and number and said she would comp a future meal. That never happened. I've noticed a trend among "busy" restaurants to lower quality of meals as prices skyrocket. It's a bad business plan. I can go to Flake around the corner in Venice and get a great breakfast burrito and latte at a reasonable price within 10 minutes. Urth in Santa Monica, you need to work on your drink efficiency. NO ONE wants to wait 20-30 minutes for a coffee and ice tea. Ridiculous.

Breakfast burrito was really good, as were the other meals shared by my family. Drinks were pretty, presentation-wise and tasty. The place was ridiculously busy, as to be expected, but service was definitely sub-par. Very slow and with several errors that weren't corrected in a timely manner. Had to track down a server twice, and go get my own silverware after waiting 10+ minutes. Still, the atmosphere was great, and it's a staple in LA, so will likely give it another shot in the future.
