Your Tiny Homes

Shawn and his wife prey on those in difficult circumstances. I am Indigenous and am not the only Indigenous person who has been through this. In 2019 he knowingly left me homeless and in debt. I paid for a home, demolished my dilapidated home, and he refuse to deliver. I could write a book here about how he knowingly put my feasible plan to live simply and off the land into complete destruction. I had no house for 2 years and had to go into unmanageable debt to put a roof over my head. He knew this. He didn't care. Stay as far away as possible and watch for the owners name on any business they decide to open to scam people in the future.

I signed a contract with Your Tiny Homes in early Nov 2019. At first, the owner, Shawn Cameron, and his wife, were very pleasant and eager to work with me. The home was supposed to be ready in January 2020. But as I asked for pictures and updates and didn't receive very much, I became concerned. And in January when my home wasn't completed, Shawn told me he had no workers to help him complete it.

Other timelines he gave me for completion were June 2020, July 2020, and Oct 2020. Each time I got my hopes up thinking I was receiving my home. But Shawn never kept his word and I never received my home.

Shawn's excuses continued, some of which were that he was busy with his children's sporting events. He also mentioned that he was delivering homes to other people. This was hard for me to hear as I am a senior citizen who used all her funds to purchase this home and I would be homeless soon. Clearly, Shawn and his business does not care.

Finally, in June 2021, I drove 7 hours to the business site in Vavenby, BC to check up on the progress of my home. That's when I discovered Shawn actually sold my house to someone else. I also discovered Shawn was being sued by other people for taking their money and failing to build their homes as well.

Recently, Shawn made promises of delivering me a new home in September 2021, but I have my doubts as he has already failed to call and report to me with an update.

I am a senior citizen and a First Nations person about to become homeless. Shawn Cameron and his business have and continue to take advantage of me. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.
