Imagine my DISAPPOINTMENT when I tried 4x to call for take out order between 343p-348p on a Wednesday, and ALL 4x it said line was busy. BOO!
To the owner; get that taken care of because I'm sure I'm NOT the ONLY customer it's happened to
Love your food but, I needed (wanted) take outDec 23, 2022Previous reviewDec 23, 2022

called in an order for pork sandwich and boudin balls
It took 30 minutes... Don't know why but, the food was fantastic.
Sandwich was filled with flavorful pork and veggies, boudin very tasty!Mar 18, 2021Previous reviewMarch 18, 2021
I ordered take out at 5pm...it's 5:49p and I'm still waiting!
Went in just now to check...they are short staffed...and very busy.
I'm going home since I'm only 1 mile from here
Because of spring break...the parking is full. Ugh!
5:54 restaurant called...out onion ring and egg rolls. Geez! Got replaced with other stuff. Food still not ready though
6:10 food ready...1:10 for fried shrimp and fried rice!
But, I'm NOT mad at them...the food quality is worth the wait..delicious!

glad to know they're doing well...disappointed that it took so long.Jan 2, 2021Previous reviewJanuary 2, 2021
Let me first say...I'm glad they have storefront signage up finally! I really want them to make it because for months after they opened ...no one knew it was a Vietnamese restaurant because of all the previous hamburger signs.
I ordered take out...pork banh mi sandwich and shrimp basket with onion rings. The sandwich had a lot of meat and veggies...the shrimp were huge and the onions rings homemade...bravo!
Keep up the good work!

I called in my order on a Wednesday at almost 5pm...ready in 10 minutes.
I got the pork banh mi sandwich (so juicy and tasty) and combo fried rice (great flavors) total $18...it is soo fresh and flavorful, I'm smiling BIG right now.

PS: keep up the consistency VietMay 16, 2019Previous reviewOk first off, FYI---it's next door to Kites Unlimited and the Valero and across from Jimmy's on the Pier. (Their sign is missing sooo)
Place is a hole in the wall..no frills kinda joint.
2 ladies are the cooks and let me just say...they know what they do!
I ordered a pork banh mi and beef pho tai noodle soup with round steak; FYI no chicken pho on the menu.
The Vietnamese sandwich was plentiful; good amount of pork. (I would of preferred more "fresh" veggies on top...carrots and cucumbers and sorry to say, but the bread was a tad hard)
The beef broth was very flavorful but with only 5 pieces of round steak (so yeah about that)
Anyho, it cleared my sinuses and brought a sense of calm as pho always does!! LOL!

Yummers! Get in line, order at the counter and they bring your food up your table. This place stays busy so expect some sort of line. Long, short, whatever.
I had the boiled shrimp. The seasoning had just the right amount of "kick". Well cooked, not chewy. He had a burger, which he referred to as "pretty damn good". Plentiful servings and great flavor! Overall they good a job of keeping the place clean, there is a small outdoor seating area, and only 1 bathroom for customers.
BYOB!! Enough said. LoLHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 11, 2024
I really like this place! Good portions and everything was delicious.
Fresh seafood off the Gulf coast with shrimp poboys, fried oysters and yummy Vietnamese pho soups and banh mi sandwiches.
Couldn't have asked for a better meal.
Counter service and food gets brought to your table. Casual dining, no nonsense spot. Bottles waters are sold, for some reason I don't recall them giving regular water, maybe I'm remembering incorrectly but that stuck out for some reason.
Anyway - great place, check our if you're in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 78157262Apr 21, 2024
Unique concept with a nice selection of options that range from burgers, PoBoys, vermicelli, Pho, and crawfish. I enjoyed the shrimp Poboy. It was a foot long length sub that had plenty of shrimp. It included crinkle fries. I also enjoyed a delicious Thai tea. The location is on the Seawall and next to a neat kite shop. Service was very quick.

Placed an order on the phone, and it was ready 15 mins later. We ordered the shrimp boil and pork banh mi. The bread in the banh mi was sooooo soft on the inside and crunch on the outside- definitely some of the best banh mi bread I've had. The sandwich was also huge and flavorful. We will be making this a regular place to go to when we're in Galveston!

My girlfriend and I were starving and wanted to grab something tasty that was nearby so we decided to give takeout from Viet Cajun a try.
I called to place an order and the phone rang for quite a while. I had put the phone down and let it keep ringing while chatting with my girlfriend and to my surprise a few minutes later I actually heard a sound coming from the phone when someone actually picked up. I placed my order over the phone, two entrees and a side, and was a little taken aback when the employee told me the total would be $40.02. Looking back at what we ordered I really wish I had gotten a receipt because that math does not add up.
When I arrived to pick up my order it went pretty smoothly. The place was decently clean and the cashier I dealt with was nice. When I got home the food was still very hot and the portions were huge. I can somewhat understand an increase in price due to the portion size but the total I paid for the meal still seems outrageous.
The food itself was pretty good. I would classify it as comfort food and since we were starving it really hit the spot. The only issue is I personally feel as if the dishes lacked the quality taste to justify the high price point.
While this meal was good in the moment, looking at the total on my credit card I am suffering from buyer's remorse. I feel like if I wanted comfort food I could have had an equal if not better meal for about a quarter of the price elsewhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Hannah C.Texas City, United States144Apr 25, 2024
My mom and I ordered 6 oyster basket and a charbroiled pork vermicelli bowl. There was a bit of a wait just since there were several people ahead of us. But the food came out still piping hot and fresh. Oysters were big, juicy, and crispy, and the pork was very good too. I've been here several times as my go-to place for fried oysters in Galveston for both the price and quality.
Only downside is that they don't serve tap water. You have to buy a drink or bottle water.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 23, 20237 check-ins
We ate here last year while in Galveston and were looking forward to being back this year. Pho is great, happy to serve it with extra sprouts in place of noodles. They have an amazing Bahn Mi too but we didn't order that yet this year. We started off with Pho. We'll be back. :-)

I came in for lunch on Saturday with a group of 5 of us and the majority wanted Crawfish. We ordered a huge bowl. They only sell drinks like bottled water or iced tea or cans of soda. No ice or cups. The crawfish are served up in a huge stainless steel bowl, which works out great because after they are gone there is a lots of liquid spice remaining. You are also given a basket for the crawfish remains and a roll of thin paper toweling to wipe off your hands and mouth as you eat. You will use lots of these. Wet wipes would have been great to have. There is only one bathroom and it's always occupied so it's really hard to clean up after a messy meal like mud bugs.
Everyone enjoyed the flavor and the spice level on the crawfish. The real kicker was how uncomfortably HOT and stuffy it was inside the restaurant. I don't know if the owners are too cheap to turn down the A/C to cool off the restaurant or if it wasn't working but there were no fans whatsoever. I don't care how good the food may taste, but it was way too hot to eat spicy food in a stuffy hot restaurant. Those that ventured to dig in literally had sweat poring down their face and all over their body.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 15, 2024
This is our favorite spot for great food when we visit Galveston. They have great specials, but our favorite go-to items are the combo plates of fried fish and shrimp with/ your choice of fried rice or French fries. Both are great choices. Their customer service is great! Always welcoming and friendly and the dining area is always clean and ready to serve. Not a noisy place, great for dining in or take out. I wish I had photos to share, but we ate our food so fast LOL Maybe next time I'll remember to take a pic!
