When it comes to indifferent staff this overpriced joint takes first prize. Their deli department was absolutely awful. Roast beef, hams and cooked poultry products looked like they were ready for the garbage can ( a while ago ).
Obviously no qualified supervision, the two younger staff members completely ignored me while they continued their conversation.
I did pass my observations on to a management associate who gave me the distinct impression he wasn't interested.
I guess Jimmy Pattison ( the owner ) is quite content to offer dried deli products in this high priced store.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amelia B.Rutland, Kelowna, BC08Jan 2, 2022
Staff and managers are unprofessional and rude. Everybody looks and acts so miserable. Aside from this, very good selection of food and love their buffet. Just wish it wasn't ruined by the staff and the vibe that I get when I walk in. Feels like I can't even ask for help if I needed it.

Very rude manager! I went in for answers to my questions regarding the opening hours, and he was very unnecessary rude. Urban fare is such a great store! one of my favourites, what a shame such a manager is running the fare.

I've always liked the Urban Fare from the first one that opened up in Vancouver to this one in Kelowna. Today we come for breakfast after a nice walk from the Hospital. Our search brought us here.
It's comfortable , has a good vibe and the people are very friendly and professional here. I almost feel that the service here is better than the ones in Vancouver. Could it be Vancouver has become snobbish? Quite possibly. I understand now why I have so many rally sport friends who like living here. Close to nature. Great roads to drive on. Knox hill climb etc etc.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ernest J.Vancouver, BC324801561Jun 13, 2015
After driving up to Kelowna (a 4 hour drive) we met at Urban Fare for a light lunch before hitting the golf course.
I was surprised to discover that Urban Fare offers quite a wide variety of foods in their deli section. I ended up ordering half a rack of BBQ ribs. It comes with a selection of side dishes. I ended up ordering the steam veggies and the mash potatoes.
Hmm... The ribs were a tiny bit dry, but they were very tender. Almost fall off the bone tender. I have to say pretty good for a grocery store/deli.
The dining area is pretty big and roomy. Overall not too bad. Next time I want to try their chicken pot pie! Looks yummy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kathryn J.Nashville, United States2014818Jul 21, 2019
Huge variety of gourmet foods. Friendly staff. We bought some chicken, ribs, and prime rib. It was over cooked :( but really a nice place to shop!

I loved eating here, they have an incredible selection of fresh healthy food. The coffee drinks are VERY well priced, cheap and good quality! Definitely coming back.

I used to go there regularly for the buffet but they have raised their prices at least 2 times in the past year or two. You used to be able get an ok sized meal from the buffet for maybe $10-12, now that same portion is more like $15-$17 and not quite as good as it used to be imo.
Going here to grocery shop and expecting to find value is not happening. They are catering to more upscale types who don't care as much about the prices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marc W.Chicago, United States873191Jul 15, 2018
This is a really nice, upper scale supermarket. All sorts of cool products. I went a couple of times during my stay in Kelowna. I got some awesome local blueberries and raspberries. For lunch I got their breakfast sandwich from the buffet. Quite nice. Very good service too.

I ordered and ate a bison burger wirh fries. Delicious. Burger had pickles, bacon, cheese, lettuce as well as a thick juicy bison burger. Fries were hot and crispy.
Service was fast and friendly as well as $5. 00 for a glass of wine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
