I came here as I saw a post on Facebook that a friend of mine was attending. I came here since I was in the hood.
I had the peroggie buffet which was amazing.
Such warm loving and friendly people. I was by myself this time, however, this group of elderly people allowed me to join them and they kind of adopted me like their grandkid. It was kind of sweet.
There is a family vibe here. Nothing fancy just basic and honest.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lauren L.Koto City, Japan51014964910Jul 31, 2011First to Review
We used this hall recently for our family reunion. Dinner was catered by the hall, a historical family video was shown (created and edited and narrated by my brother) and finished off with a night of dancing.
The food was pretty good for a buffet. Hand made Perogies and Cabbage rolls . Roast beef and lots of veggies!. I quite enjoyed myself.
There is also Friday Family suppers.
"Open to the public at the Ukrainian Centre on the third Friday of every month except July, August and December." as indicated on their site.
They also wrote "
Enjoy perennial Ukrainian favourites of borscht, pyrohy (perogies), kobassa (Ukrainian garlic sausage), holubtsi (cabbage rolls) and various chef's specials. Friendly family setting with budget conscious prices."

I know that the perogies aren't as good as Brian B's grandmothers, but they certainly come close.
And if you have a Saturday free and end up in Richmond, C'mon by for a visit and chek out the Saturday Sales.

Definitely a culture shock walking into this place and seeing mainly senior eastern Europeans! We were noticeably confused, approached and promptly explained how the event works. Everyone has their own order marked on a sheet, next a dude highlights it, then you pay, then you line up with your sheet and the happy face stamp and proceed to line up and get your food.
Food (perogies, cabbage rolls, garlic sausage, meatballs, borscht) was great, in house made I'm assuming. They have free tea, coffee and water. If you want to have alcohol, it's more than affordable. We got a bottle of white wine for $20.
Would have been fitting to go to a bingo night following this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
