My dog is 14 years old now, he is a pure bred border collie. I have been giving him Sportsman Pride for 14 years. He is still pretty healthy for an old guy. Border collies are only suppose to live 12 years but my Dexter is still going. I believe it is from the food. I found it way better than production line quick stuff to only expand in the belly and is full of dyes. Dexter's coat is very shiny and he still has lots of energy. I would recommend this store to anyone, matter fact I have. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and the price is awesome. I get a large bag for $70.00+ but it lasts him 5 or 6 months so it works out to only $13.50 a month. You really can't beat that. Dexter's food is always down for him, I do not feed him on a schedule. He is perfectly healthy and like I said its because of the food. You will be happy you went to this establishment.

as a small business owner myself I try and support local, well I purchased a pair or nail clippers, which were never used because my hand was way to small to put pressure to close the large nail clippers.
two days later I tried returning them, the answer was a straight no. and I was told by the owner/manager that the girl went to ask that he said 'it's common sence, I wouldn't buy a toothbrush and try and return that'
And refused to even offer a different solution for me. Just a no!

not only was I treated rudely but am now stuck with these never used clippers.

I will no longer be bringing my business there. Sorry to see a local owner act this way.

I am a professional groomer and I love the selection of grooming supplies as well as the prices. They sell high end products and everyone is welcome to shop there. Staff are always so friendly and helpful. I have been coming to Trident for over 15 years and will continue to be a loyal customer.

I recently visited this place to get some dog food a specific pricey brand. Being in west side of the city, I always procrastinating driving to the south-side wholesale store(G&E Pharmacy). I always end up going to small stores like PJ pets and end up paying premium price. This store being very close from Mayfield common shopping strip and close to the west of the city, gave me another option.

The place has lot of items, however I did not see the price to be anywhere close to be calling this store having wholesale centre pricing. Definitely the staff are friendly and helpful compared to the wholesale one on the south side. Also the price is not displayed for most of the items and you have to call the store person to check. This is kind of irritating.

I was also looking for a non-clumping, clay cat litter - which I could not find. I do not own a cat and if you are wondering, I was looking as an alternate to Bonsai potting mix (!!) - which is hard to find here in Edm.
Still looking for either Bonsai potting mix or non-clumping, clay - cat litter :)

This is actually an Edmonton based company that sells pet supplies. They operate an online store as well as this physical location. It's geared mostly toward dogs but also offers supplies for cats, birds, fish, horses and reptiles. You can get pet shampoo in giant jugs which saves a lot of money. They've got toys, beds, crates, food...anything you could think of when it comes to caring for your pet. It's okay to bring your pet in the store, too as long as it's on a leash. There was a cute Rottweiler puppy in there when I walked in. The staff know their stuff so ask away.

This is a huge wholesale store that carries all kinds of pet supplies. Most of the stuff here is for dogs but you will be able to find things for all your other animals too (not as great of a selection though).

They carry toys, food and other things. I actually thought it was cool that people are allowed to bring their pets into the store as long as they are on a leash. So if you really want you can let your pet do the shopping and pick out things that they like. It's kind of a funny thought isn't it.

The staff is really helpful so don't hesitate to ask them questions.

I was able to find a few cat toys here that I have never seen anywhere else (and that my cats seem to really enjoy). The layout is kind of sporadic I found, so you really have to look through the whole store to make sure you don't miss anything. Some things seem to be reasonably priced but others seem a bit high. One small issue I have is that I prefer when the prices are listed (either on the product or on the shelf). Even in asking the attendant she was not completely sure of the pricing on a few items so we had a few surprises when we went to check out.

Lots of available parking here and pets are welcome inside the store. I don't think I would make a special trip to this place, as it is quite out of my way, but I would definitely stop in and browse when in the neighbourhood.

Well I finally checked out this pet store the other day and picked up a few things. I like supporting some of the independent business's when I can.

Man the dogs love this place. So much to spoil them with they can barely focus :) Lots of tougher to find foods that are locally sourced as well as some imports as well. A pretty big selection of grooming supplies, dog houses, carriers etc.

Knowledgeable staff and average pricing. The odd thing seams cheaper and some things perhaps not so much.

Overall some things I will come and buy here and more closely a 3.5. Perhaps a four once I really dive in and peruse the inventory!

Location location location, so far in the Westend. I only can come out here on weekends b/c I live far South. Well not even weekends just Saturday b/c they are closed Sundays. They have a variety of animal needs but nothing that blows me away. The staff are very knowledgable, I swear they know everything about every product on their shelves. When it comes to larger items, animal carriers, cat trees etc they have a large selection at a good price but the smaller things seem to cost a bit more than other pet stores. The major downfall is the location as I have mentioned again and again.
