I'm a big fan of Thai Son so when I found out they had opened up a new location in Marpole I knew I had to go.
I don't usually like ordering BBH from the other Thai Son locations because I know they're not known for the BBH. However, I felt compelled to get it due to "My BBH Journey". As expected, the BBH from this Thai Son was not a mindblowing experience. However, I looked around and the lemongrass chicken rice dishes that people had ordered seemed just as delicious as their other locations.
Would I come back to this particular Thai Son location again? Most likely not. Yes, it's super clean and yes there's a huge parking lot but the location sucks (IMHO) so I'll stick to Richmond or the one by Main st.
* important note * it's a huge pain in the butt to get to if you're coming from Richmond.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hank O.Montebello, United States733Oct 9, 2019
My family and I had our lunch at this establishment coz some say that these chain of restaurants were pretty much famous and lots of customers. I was dismayed after we got our food orders- I ordered Yellow egg round noodles with beef brisket & tendons but they gave me a white thin strip noodles and the color of the soup is kinda red color and the oil is floating on top of the soup. My Brod inlaw ordered a rice dry noodle but instead he got a brown colored noodles and looks like it's been cooked with lots of black soy sauce. We called the lady serving us and complained but she insisted that they served us the correct food orders. They don't accept their mistakes in serving us with the wrong food and insisted that they are correct.
I will not recommend others to eat on their restaurant chain for I believed that we've been cheated on our food orders.
Eaters on these restaurants ( Thai Son) beware and make sure you clarified on your food orders or else you'll get your food orders which you will end up "To go".Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah W.Vancouver, BC2004201144Aug 31, 2014
This is a newer restaurant from the chain off Marine Drive, if you are driving from Vancouver to Richmond, you will not miss it.
We ordered
Spring Rolls
Grilled Lemon Grass Chicken with Broken Rice
Beef Ball and Rare Beef Pho
Typical items you would order from a Vietnamese Restaurant. Nothing special and the broken rice its just stickier rice. Lots of Beef for the small noodle. The Spring Rolls looked squish but it tasted ok.
Average soup stock with MSG so be warned.
The wait staff was efficient and lots of parking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steven L.Vancouver, BC202215640Nov 30, 2015
[Noodle Soup]
This location of the Thai Son chain is one of my main go-to places when there's nothing in the fridge. For a Pho shop, it's nicely decorated, tasty, and priced right. Parking is plentiful and there's always space.
When it's cold, the #3 noodle bowl (rare beef and flank) provides warm brothy goodness. For something heftier, the lemongrass chicken is a solid option. The spring and salad rolls don't really shine - I'd take a pass on these. The staff here are friendly and quick on their feet. I can be in and out of here in under 30 minutes if I was in a hurry.
PS. Everything is 10% off on Tuesdays.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lewis W.South Vancouver, Vancouver, BC8517Mar 23, 2018
I've been here twice now for takeout. Both times I received good quality food at a reasonable price with prompt friendly service.
Definitely recommended if you're in the mood for pho.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina C.Toronto, ON619621Aug 25, 2017
Fairly standard Vietnamese restaurant with decent food. They recently changed to cash only which is a bit annoying and sketchy...

solid 3.5 b/c just for its location, as I've experienced a few times during rush hour getting onto the Arthur Liang, it's good food & prices to kill an hour before heading to Richmond.
The nicest location amongst its empire of 5, lots of daylight.
Lots of parking, a bit tight w/ its angled nature.
Located in same plaza where the infamous peeler bar used to be ;)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andrew P.West Side, Vancouver, BC018Feb 10, 2018

I usually get the Pho Tai (slice rare beef). It's exactly what you get. I find the broth oilier than most places, but it's still good. This location is probably one of the cleaner pho locations out there, although there is always a weird smell when I walk in. Convenient location in very south Vancouver just before Richmond. Free parking out front and located next to a liquor store that claims to sell 2% less than government liquor stores. What more can you ask for. Oh maybe accepting credit. This place is cash only.
