I was in the area for a quick lunch, thought I try it.
Conclusion: not worth it for its price point.
Atmosphere is a quasi-food court atmosphere. Really dark for with its lighting, being a basement site doesn't help. Everywhere anywhere is sticky as hell, I first thought it was the wood with the finishing, wasn't it. Subpar for sure.
Service was really slow for the amount of people that was present. They seem to prioritize the take outs/delivery service more. I got the coke in like 5 minutes, with the cooler being right beside the counter. Speaks volumes.
Food is a letdown - major reason for the 2 star rating. Unagi bowl had five thin slices of unagi on it. Over sauced, there isn't even much rice to accompany it. The portion for what? 18 dollars, is hella rip off. Philadelphia roll was passable, but nothing to write home about.
Maybe two years ago this place was a hidden gem. Now? Is a overpriced rip off.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 16136784Feb 3, 2020

Ordered the Bento Box A to go ($11.50 after tax) for lunch at around 11:45am, there's no wait and the food arrived 5 minutes later.
While I did eat everything in the box, it wasn't the best of quality or the tastiest. Noticeably, the California roll did not have any avocados in it; I mean, what's up with that?
The fried items (gyoza and tempura) were a bit limp and mushy. The best thing was the salad which had a really tasty sesame dressing on it.
There's complimentary hot green tea by the cashier that you can take it to go.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Phil C.Vancouver, BC0121Aug 30, 2023
Wait times here can be really bad. Recommend asking them about the wait time before you commit. Sushi is good but waiting 40 minutes at lunch is not acceptable.

This spot is a diamond in the rough. The sushi is delicious and priced well. I would recommend staying to the sushi and main entrees. I tried two sides-the gyoza and edamame. I very underwhelmed by the sides. Both were a bit over cooked. If you're going to stop by for a bite, make sure it's M-F. They are closed on the weekends.

Came here and got the sashimi salad special (well it was listed as seafood salad special). To my surprise, it had smoke salmon in it. That was weird. I mean you don't expect it from a Japanese restaurant. Well, I just so happen to be close by and it was raining and I just didn't want to walk so I picked this restaurant. Well, the restaurant is located downstairs and not many restaurants are like that. Line up went fast. Except one issue was that the time for them to prep the food took forever. Waited like a good 20 mins. Most people just did take out.
My sashimi salad special came with a miso soup. But the miso soup was so salty, I couldn't drink it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 13325547Nov 20, 2015
Our office ordered some platters & other dishes for take-out from this place today, so I was able to try a variety of items from their menu.
We had a couple boxes of Gyoza, Chicken Karaage, Beef Teriyaki with rice, and a few party platters (Sashimi Platters, and Sushi Roll Platter B).
The sashimi & sushi were very fresh & portions were generously sized. Fish : rice ratio on the sushi was really awesome. I loved the Unagi sushi, the salmon sashimi, and the House roll best!
The Chicken Karaage & Gyoza were alright - tasty, but nothing particularly special.
I didn't get to try the Beef Teriyaki with rice, but my co-workers who did said it was good.
Overall, a great meal! I'll definitely stop by the restaurant for lunch sometime.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Val L.Markham, ON159108890Mar 7, 2017
It's alright. Really nothing special but not bad. Quick service if you don't go during peak rush hour. Reasonable prices for the combo and bentos.
I ordered the spicy dynamite combo- for them to claim to have the best spicy sushi, I was super disappointed that it was just a dynamite roll with sriracha on top? Also, I don't know if my expectations for a dynamite roll is off but I was thinking there would be avocado in it- this one has yam tempura and lettuce instead. I might go back and try the spicy salmon roll or the bento next time since it's nearby, but wouldn't go out of the way to come here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 86180510Mar 28, 2017Updated review
I had been here a while back and remember not being impressed but decided to come in for a couple of quick pieces of nigiri and edamame.
What a crap show I walked into. It's 5:30 on a Friday night and they have one waitress and one cook. She told me to sit where I like and as I look at the menu I glance around and realize every table is waiting for food. I figure that's ok cause I'm ordering so little.
I'm not terribly upset about how long it took to eat my food and sake but other things were a gong show. I had to borrow soya sauce from someone else and then I noticed everyone was sharing soy sauce. The server was running around crazy because a four top wanted to pay separately and obviously took up her time. Well the cook was putting food up and people were just going to the counter to pick up their food so it didn't just sit there. Then she goes to actually deliver a tray to a lady and the order was incorrect so back into the kitchen it went. A couple that came in started clearing tables to make a spot available to them. Seriously she's so busy taking payments for the ever constant finishing customers that everyone who was seated was forced to grab their own or come up to the counter to order their food while she was taking payments. Not her fault but seriously, one extra person working would have not killed the budget as they aren't dirt cheap priced.
My edamame was under cooked and rock hard. The nigiri salmon was good, the Ebi was meh.
UPDATE: it's a Tuesday night at 6:15 and I was around the corner and craving sushi, I popped in to give it another try and it was night and day from last Friday. I was greeted and promptly given my sake and my food came up quick and good. The cute little waitress who was absolutely sinking last Friday quality checked me twice which is rare in Japanese restaurants. She was filling up teas and all smiles and everything was smooth. It's a shame that it's the polar opposite when they get busy. I encourage them to put someone extra on for a swing shift, lunch and dinner so that reviews are better.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 24, 2017Previous reviewI had been here a while back and remember not being impressed but decided to come in for a couple of quick pieces of nigiri and edamame.

I got the yam roll box to go because I was not that hungry. It was okay. But I have had better yam rolls. It was not rolled tight. It was not that expensive and I wouldn't say surely it was not good.
