My family liked this place a lot better than I did.
They ordered: Falafel bowl, seafood chowder, quesadilla, and a grilled chicken bowl.
The food is original and well conceived - it's a very healthy menu.
But this California boy has a preconceived notion of a taco. A taco has hot meat/filling with a heated tortilla. The Pulled Pork Taco should really be called "lukewarm wrap." Room temperature meat and tortilla? No thanks. Beer was also not very cold, but that may suit you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Valerie S.Lake Echo, NS133016Sep 2, 2019
Cute little spot with all day breakfast. They sell nice stained glass and local handmade beauty products.
Its cafeteria style ordering and pretty rustic. The food was good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rachelle B.Halifax, NS794313455Jun 24, 2019Updated review
2nd visit: an overcast Sunday in June 2019. Arrived about 9:30? There were two tables taken so it was pretty quiet. I tried the CHORIZO BURRITO (scrambled eggs, Aroma Latino chorizo sausage, spiced potatoes, fresh avocado, and PEI cheddar. With house-made rice + beans & pico de gallo. $13). It was delicious as well. Took about 15 minutes to arrive, but that was fine, since I drove over half an hour to get here anyway and intentionally brought a book, to make it a relaxing morning outing. Friendly service still. I WILL be back.

Maybe a 35 minute drive from Clayton Park? Worth it! Nice scenery on Marine Drive too. Anyway, got there, and with seating for only 16 I believe, I got one of the last two free tables. You order at the counter and they give you a number to bring the food to your table. I tried the Sarah's Scramble (a pile of rice & beans topped with eggs scrambled with Aroma Latino chorizo sausage + potatoes, fresh avocado and house-made pico de gallo. $12). Yum. The rice & beans were on the bottom, which I didn't realize at first or would've mixed it all up more, but doesn't matter. Very filling too. Friendly staff. Simple atmosphere with lots of natural light, some merchandise for sale such as the awesome Sissiboo coffee from Annapolis Royal. Lots of room for parking on the dirt lot which surrounds the building. I can't wait to come back here.

Great cozy little place. I had the breakfast burrito and my partner had the eggs benny. Both were delicious. Good coffee options and David's tea. Their baked goods are served at a coffee shop called Weird Habour in downtown Halifax, which is where we first heard about this place. They also have free WiFi.
If you're hungry & in the area, definitely check it out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lyza B.Halifax, NS01Jan 13, 2018

Excellent Americano and lattes, delicious food! We've been to rose and rooster almost everyday during our week visit in Seaforth. Leaving tomorrow and we're definitely going to miss this place!
