Rio Pizza

Easily some of the best pizza that this city has to offer. 5 Stars when it comes to pizza in Calgary. 4 stars if I'm comparing it to other cities. We all know that Calgary has a bit of a problem when it comes to great pizza. Along with Mercato, I'll be making Rio Pizza a staple for when those cravings hit.

Definitely great, fast service and amazing prices!

I tried the cesar salad and also two pizzas: thick crust Hawaiian and thin crust cheese.

Portions were big enough. I really enjoyed the salad. The pizza dough were both good but the sauce was too sweet. It was feeling more like a rose sauce / penne romanoff sauce than a typical pizza sauce. It was lacking acidity. I would go back, but only if I'm in the area and if I have a craving for a cheap cesar salad.

Standard pizza with above average taste.

Worth getting, I just wish the ingredients were slightly better quality.

Price is ok, add a second pizza for a little more makes things even better.

One of Calgary's best kept secrets when it comes to amazing pizza!! I highly recommend the Rio special on thin crust!! YUM :)

Do yourself a favor and spend you hard earned money in a place that appreciates their clients. We had been ordering from here for a few years fairly frequently, its good - not great - pizza, there's definitely better such as Nikos, 4th Street, Gondola, Verona, Inglewood, Noble Pie - but its decent enough to keep you coming back. However the customer service here is terrible. Tonight our order was delivered incomplete - missing the pasta portion. Called them, the guy that answered the phone was rude, puts a lady on who needs far better phone matters when dealing with the public but we got it worked out and she was sending another courier over with our missing dish. Then calls me back and says I have to pay for it when it gets to me because skip refunded the 12 bucks in credits to us. You know, we fully intended to pay for our order - of course, we ordered it, but when your met with rude person barking at you, talking over you, not listening to you, and then uses the words "the customer is not always right!" it's pretty insulting. I worked in restaurants for over a decade, I would have given the $9 pasta to the person because it was not their fault it didn't arrive with the rest of their order. Not berate them and make them feel terrible. Seriously, call one of the other places I listed above their pizza is superior and you will never be treated poorly by them.

Loved it, we ordered 2 14" thin crust and one 12"thick, totally perfect! Wings and Greek salad also decent.

Will order again!

Moved into the area, and gave them a try. Now they are my first call for neighbourhood pizza! Quality ingredients, and fair price. How can you pass up a second pizza for $5? You can't, it's a trap, a tasty, meaty, cheesy trap.

Best thin crust in Calgary
I used get pizza from Rio when they were on Centre Street NW.. But it changed hands and it was so disappointing. I just tried the one on 14th last night and in chatting with the owner found out he left Centre Street 10 years ago.
The pizza..Hawaiian with real bacon..not the ham that every other place puts on in place of bacon. It was hot fresh and cooked perfectly. WOW..! Glad to find you again..! Keep on doing a great job. Thanks!!!!

Great service, friendly staff and delicious thin crust pizza. I recommend it for everyone.
