Came for the Orange Julep, and left with my Orange Julep.
It's basically an enclosed Hot Dog stand at the stadium type of deal. Nothing fancy, but it works! Was looking a bit more sad since we visited in the winter. Employees are young but friendly. It's definitely on the pricey side, but worth it for the Orange Julep. It's essentially a melted Orange creamsicle in drink form, and I am here for it. We visited Montreal for 5 days, and we came for the Julep 3 days out of the week. I wish they sold jugs of the Orange Julep at the grocery store!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 15, 2024
The building is very unique and a can't miss from the highway. It's basically a big orange! There is ample parking and easy to get to from the highway. This is not a fancy sit down place, but more of a fast food joint. We were looking forward to having their orange juice, but actually were disappointed. It's not traditional orange juice that you'd squeeze yourself. It taste a bit different, like a melty foamy creamsicle ice cream bar. It's a little sweet and "different" at the same time. It was worth a try for us, but not for us as we were looking for pure squeezed orange juice.
The onion rings were very good, crispy and brown. The grilled hotdog was nice and we got it with ketchup. you can also get it with "dressing" which is a combination of traditional toppings that I cannot recall. The poutine was good if you're into poutine. Gravy was very good!
Service was quick, and the lady that took my order was very friendly. They take Apple Pay for easy checkout. There are a few seats inside. The menu was expansive.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - H R.West Hartford, United States01316Apr 12, 2024
This is a Montreal Icon, and was our first stop on our stay in this beautiful city. Right on Boulevard Decarie, this giant orange in the highway is a must stop! After some long hours of driving, my family and I were eager to try their famous Julep, and we also were a bit hungry, so we ended up getting 2 of the Hot dogs, Poutine, and medium Julep trios. We were certainly not disappointed. The poutine and hot dogs were absolutely spectacular, which was a pleasant surprise considering we were expecting this to be an average food place with the Julep being the star of the show. We were impressed that they toasted the Hot dog bun! On the other hand, the Julep was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. It was like a really frothy orange juice. The staff is very friendly and bilingual si vous ne parlez pas français. Ample parking is available.

The hot dog and small drink cost around $10, it's a bit overpriced for what it is. It's a typical hot dog with everything on it. The small drink was good, it tasted like orange cream soda. It's a bit sweet with no fizz. Like a creamsicle ! It's ok but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Also no where to sit inside. It's a takeout place unfortunately! IG @nycfoodiebb

The big orange ball really got us. We were driving past it, and thought they sold orange juice, which we really wanted as something refreshing. There was a short line but multiple windows to order from so it was quick. The staff was friendly and when we asked what was in the orange julep, they said it was a secret - family recipe.
We ended up getting the pogo (corndog), poutine, and an orange julep.
The pogo was a classic, not oily and actually a good balance between the hotdog and batter.
The poutine was the classic version with gravy and cheese curds smothering the fries. The fries were a mix between crispy and soggy, of course the ones under the gravy would be soggier. It was piping hot and very warming to the belly, especially on a cold winter morning.
The orange julep was delicious! I can see why people were ordering liters of it to go. The color was more of a light cream and it was sort of frothy. It reminded me of orange cream soda.
It's a great fast casual spot to grab food to go! The orange julep is interesting since it's not just orange juice. It's on the sweeter side but still refreshing.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 29, 2023
This spot was a minute from my hotel and I wouldn't have known about it if my friend hadn't mentioned it. A Montreal institution that's been around for over 75 years and can't be missed given the huge Orange.
Naturally, a little queue on Saturday around noon. We Ordered the lunch combo. (2 hot dogs, fries & Julep) and #4 (Hot Dog, Poutine& Julep).
Customer before me ordered their Hot Dog dressed which means everything on it. They make your food to order and the person who took your order packages it and hands it to you which I thought was a nice touch.
The Julep reminded me of an Orange Julius drink. Freshly squeezed orange juice with sort of slushy consistency and very very sweet. Good but too sweet for me.
Hot Dogs were okay & Poutine was very good. Unfortunately, they no longer offer Smoked Meat.
Friendly service & Solid fast food/Takeout (serving breakfast all day) that I would imagine tastes even better after a night out given they're open til 4 am.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 31, 2023
Gibeau was our first stop on our Montreal vacation. It was SO good we made sure to stop by again before we left. Iconic building, fast service, and delicious food with great deals with their trios.
Their orange julep is truly addicting, it's fresh, smooth, and creamy -- next time we're getting a half gallon.
Their poutine was delicious and filling, I adore their cheese curds and gravy. My boyfriend said their fully dressed hotdog was one of the best hotdogs he's ever had. And their pogos (corndogs) were nice and crispy.
We can't wait to return back to Montreal because Gibeau is going to be the first place we're going to stop by.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 22, 2023
A MUST VISIT SPOT IN MONTREAL - this was so bomb I understand now why there was such a long line up. This was so good.
Cheeseburger ~ the burgers were good the meat was juicy and the toppings were fresh and the cheese was nicely melted together. 7/10.
Poutine ~ I enjoyed this with the burgers it was delicious fries were crispy, cheese curds were melted and the gravy was rich and thick. 8/10.
Orange julep ~ THE STAR OF THE SHOW lets say it was so good we ended up buying the extra large jug julep to bring back to our Airbnb. It was sweet, refreshing and honestly orange juice on a different level. Reminded me of orange Julius but like 1000000x better.
This is a place id definitely come back to when I go back to montreal it was so good and delicious in am obsessed with the julep!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 53189375Apr 23, 2023
A super fast and casual place. They have delicious hot dogs! Their poutine is okay, the fries were a little soggy even without the gravy on it. They are known for their orange drinks, and it's pretty interesting.
