So you want to get a vat of mayonnaise, but you don't want to pay membership dues at Costco? Not to worry, because the Real Canadian Wholesale Club has got you covered, and you don't have to pay for the privilege of shopping there.
This no frills warehouse-style grocery store delivers a big bang for your buck. Why buy just one bag of chips when you can buy a box filled with 40 bags for a fraction of the cost? You say "gluttony", I say frugality.
Because of the massive quantities, RCWC is a favourite grocery store for restaurants and food service companies, convenience stores and vendors, community organizations and sports clubs, and theoretically the Octomom, if she were to visit Cowtown!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris S.Oakland, United States83445521Nov 17, 2014
This is for the cooking stuff not the food.
I've always been able to get excellent inexpensive pans as well as other kitchen stuff. We've boughten rocks glasses, ladles, straws, spreaders, sauce containers, you name it.
This is the best place to go for cheap restaurant supplies. Everything is commercial quality and built to last. Prices are cheap.
Some stuff to know:
- No credit cards accepted - cash or debit only
- The produce sucks
- Also sells ketchup chips wholesale. I bring them back by the case load to San Fran. Tip: you can take 3 boxes of 48, tape them together and it will just make the baggage size requirements!
I've dubbed it "Costco on crack" and I mean this in a bad way. If Costco developed a drug addiction, lost most of its family and friends, refused to enter rehab, and was just a junkie, a statistic, this is exactly what it would look like!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris P.Calgary, AB25719192594Sep 9, 2013
Wholesale Club is like a dumpy Costco but with a focus on restaurant supply. Its more like Costco of the late 80's or early 90's.
I mostly come here for one thing. Little plastic cups to make Jell-o shots with. Restaurants may use these to give you a side of dip with your take-out order, but for me, they're the perfect size for boozy gelatin at my parties.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Khristina H.Calgary, AB8862Oct 8, 2016
I wouldn't recommend shopping here.
They sold me meat that was nearly expired and when I tried to return it for a newer one they told me no exchange even though it was purchased a few day previous and was within the 14 day exchange.
Do not trust these people with feeding your family, Costco has accountability, this place has polices in place to protect the company not us the consumer!
Not Canadian at all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wuz K.Issaquah, United States69132Feb 12, 2014
They've got a few items that I haven't found anywhere else. Box of old dutch beef jerky sticks, 5lb box of bacon, donair loaf cut into slices, and a loaf of bread for a quarter! Like to buy in bulk but don't like paying for the privilege then this place is for you.
