Just the pork alone was worth the 30 minute wait. Excellent all around. I already want more.

Upon arriving to Danbo, my friends and I were greeted by a long line of fellow hungry, ramen-craving customers. They assigned homework while we patiently waited outside for our turn. Overwhelmed and paralyzed by the customization options for the ramen, I ended up choosing "standard" for most of the options.
The ramen itself was extremely good. It came with plentiful slices of cha siu pork slices and a rich broth that leaves you craving water for days afterwards. The noodles were tasty and I have no complaints.
I was quite shocked at the pricing for $2.00 for an egg and $1.75 for seaweed. I still got it anyway for the aesthetics of the photos. The over-priced egg and seaweed were slightly made up for by the cheap option to add additional noodles for either $2.00 for a full order or $1.00 for half an order. My friends and I all got an additional half order of noodles which was very satisfying and kept us full.
The servers were very nice and friendly. My friend dropped her chopsticks and a female server dropped everything she was doing, and almost instantaneously, a fresh pair of chopsticks and napkins appeared. Even after spilling water on the freshly cleaned table during a busy time, they still gave me a smile and reassured me it was okay.
Overall, I really enjoyed this ramen restaurant and hope to try it again in Japan someday.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sammie S.Thornhill, ON357101743May 7, 2024
A lineup at 5pm on a Saturday? This place is always busy. Luckily the line moves fast and that is because it is fast food. Most people are in and out in about 20 minutes.
Decent prices. A pork based broth, order forms and pens are handed out in line so that you are ready to order as you sit down. It was convenient and tasty. I snapped a picture of some empty seats as they were being cleaned before being filled again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 11, 20241 check-in
I went to the dentist a week after I went to Ramen Danbo. The dentist informed me that I had burned my mouth from hot food or drink. I had not had any hot food very recently, so I did not immediately identify the culprit. However, I soon realized it was Ramen Danbo. I ate the noodles even as they burned my mouth because they were so good.
Our friend so graciously lined up in the cold for 30 minutes before my other friend and I arrived. We were handed papers and pencils to complete our ramen orders in line. After we sat down, we were told we could store our coats inside our seats, which doubled as storage boxes. I really like the versatility.
The classic ramen with chashu-men was amazing. The pork belly was so tasty, and we all ordered an extra half order of noodles for only $1. I devoured my noodles so quickly. Even though I did not get any spice, I felt the broth was spicy as my nose was running. I still remain a little traumatized from how thirsty the ramen made me for many hours. And I barely drank the broth. I regret not selecting the light broth.
The total came out to $19 plus tip, which was definitely pricey as I only got the classic ramen with meat and no additional toppings. I wanted to get the soft-boiled egg, but I didn't think it was worth $2.
The service was very efficient, except for when we waited for our half orders of noodles. I am almost certain the server forgot about it because after quite a long time, he looked over and made a gesture as if he had just remembered. They don't have much seating inside, so I appreciate how the service was fast for the most part.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 21, 2024
Wait time could be 45 mins to 1 hour for dinner time. We went on rainy night and thinking about maybe there will be less people, oh no, still long line and we are all waiting under the rain. Its cold and ramen is the best food for the night.
I ordered Negi-goma Ramen, loaded with lots of sesame and it tastes good. The storage under the seats are super smart idea and save space. There are tons of take out orders and it seems that it was non-stop. Ramen brooth is strong and tasty. Service is good and definitely will go back next time we visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 287782996Feb 10, 2024
Had to give this place a shot after my friend described it as THE best ramen he had ever had -- esp when commenting on the vegan/vegetarian versions.
We swung by on a weekday roughly after opening time and there was already a little bit of a line. Not crazy long but did pose a challenge in the rain. We were able to sneak past a couple groups and be seated a tad bit early since it was just two of us rather than a 3-4 person group. It's also great that they give you the menu/ordering slip while you're in line so you know what you want asap and can put in the order once you sit down.
We both had the negi goma but regular for the omnivore husband and vegan for me -- also got rekka because we wanted it to be a bit spicy! Definitely did not disappoint either of us and honestly, this was a pretty solid vegan broth~ The noodles had a good bite and weren't soggy or overcooked which is always good as well. We also grabbed some vegan dumplings to share which were solid. I was curious about the soy chasu donburi and vegan fried rice but that had to be reserved for next time!
Overall, this place has great ramen at reasonable prices and is able to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions which is always nice! Swing by (hopefully at a reasonable time so there isn't a wait) and enjoy some delicious noodle soup.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 30, 2024
I was so sad when I finished this bowl of ramen. I think this was the best bowl of ramen I've EVER had. I haven't been to Japan (yet) but I've tried ramen in NYC, SF, and LA, and this one has all of them beat. My partner and I are big fans of rich and creamy tonkotsu ramen, this place did not disappoint.
First off, there was already a line when we got there for lunch on a random weekday. A staff member was handing out slips of paper for people in the queue to place their orders before getting seated. They also offered umbrellas since it was raining. I liked how customizable the ramen was. You can choose everything including noodle thickness, firmness, broth thickness, and broth richness!
I was a bit disappointed that the toppings I've come to assume are included with ramen bowls like the char siu, soft boiled egg, and kikurage, all cost extra. But prices were reasonable enough that it didn't matter too much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 25, 2024
i came here on a friday for lunch around 1:30 pm with a group of 5. we waited in line outside for ~40 min. there's limited seating, but you order while you're in line which speeds up the process a little. when you're closer to the front, they give each person a sheet of paper to mark your order and they collect it once you're seated.
there were a lot of customization options so i felt a little overwhelmed. i went with a classic ramen with all of the standard options since i felt that would give me a good sense of what the restaurant had to offer. it wasn't super clear on the order sheet that the ramen came with chashu-men (pork belly). we had all initially opted to "add chashu-men" on our sheets, but changed it once the server told us it was already included as they were collecting our orders. the standard spice level for karadare didn't feel spicy at all to me.
i was visiting from the SF bay area - while this place is good, it unfortunately doesn't compare to ramen in the bay.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 22, 2024
This place not only has good food, the service is amazing. I haven't been to many restaurants in Canada since I'm from Los Angeles, but this place catered to my 2 year old! They had kids bowls and utensils for us and even his own little small cup! I thought that was so nice. As far as the ramen it was 4/5 stars. It was really good and I would definitely have it again. We waited in line outside for about 15-20 minutes and then were seated. Wasn't too bad at all. I got the tonkotsu ramen with a bit of spice and it was perfect!
Pretty small inside but service is fast so you're out of there pretty quickly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brian L.Vancouver, BC03082May 10, 2024
Super popular ramen place and I have no idea why. I came at dinner time on a weekday. Short lineup but not bad. They have a very small menu.
We ordered their classic tonkotsu ramen.
It is nice that you get to choose how much fat they put in, noodle type and texture, and level of spiciness. I'm happy to report for those ppl who like spicy food, their max spicy level is actually spicy and exactly what I wanted.
The broth itself was just ok. Average.
My main problem is the bowl is quite small and very expensive once you add in extra toppings. The base bowl doesn't have much included and is quite small. So the value isn't there.
We also shared a gyoza order. Not bad either.
Overall, food itself probably solid 4/5. But the value factor brings it down to 3/5.
Metered Parking is available on the streets.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
