Excellent storage service in Vancouver.
If you're looking for honest and reliable storage service in Vancouver that's also competitively priced, and most importantly - friendly & good service, then Public Storage at Kinross Street is a sure choice.
I've heard storage services are typically notoriously infamous for shady practices, up-sells, and difficult cancellations - kind of like some gym memberships, haha.
However, Public Storage in my experience is an honest, reliable and above-board public storage option. The staff & manager are friendly, connectable, and professional.
= Storage purpose
Recently, I went by to inquire about renting a small storage unit. They have a promotion for $1 first month (limited availability and it's their smallest unit 5*5). I had a very disruptive and noisy neighbour who had been waking me up in the middle of night for days on end. My intention had been to put some things in storage while I stayed somewhere else for a month so the building manager can live in my unit and observe the noise himself. Planned on renting 1-2 months, they told me they could pro-rate the rental if I intended just to rent 1.5 months - which clearly shows their above board practices. (I decided in the end just to move out as strata management FSResidential didn't seem very keen on addressing the issue. A bit complacent; responses were sporadic and spaced weeks or months apart.)
You can pay online or in-store But they can only prorate your rental to your usage if you pay in store.
During some small talk during the sign-up (I first tried to sign up online but there were some glitches with the site so they signed up in person.) They were very compassionate about my situation and it was nice to talk to someone. The manager was just a good human. You can tell they were honest and genuine people; which really life is about the people.
Sign up was easy and effortless with the forms and contract. They took time to clearly summarize the terms and conditions so you knew the norms. (You're given your access code, you must leave the premises by 10 PM as the gate locks. Cancellation policy is straight forward, just keep your unit empty w/ locks remove and notify them.)
They walk you to your unit and ask you to confirm that's the size and unit you need. Then you sign the contract, initials and payment. Straight forward and simple.
= Storage
The facility is clean and well maintained. I had rented a small indoor unit. There wasn't any issues at all with storage.
You have an elevator that automatically remains open which is convenient for those moving more things; you can also use the trolly provided.
It's a good and clean storage.
= Cancellation
True to their word. The $1 promo was a $1 promo even though I just cancelled it before the first month (as mentioned, I decided I didn't need the storage as I planned on just moving out than fighting the noisy neighbour through strata management.)
I live nearby so I just stopped by and let them know before the 1st of August that I planned on cancelling the unit. It was simple and hassle-free.
= Conclusion
Overall, Public Storage is a 5 Star storage service in Vancouver. It's reliable, honest, and friendly service.
Anna Perez is an excellent person and easy to communicate with.
Base on my experience, I would gladly recommend Public Storage to friends who need storage. I wouldn't hesitate using Public Storage if I needed storage in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Moses L.Burnaby, BC26Mar 19, 2021
A solid 5-star rating.
I was looking for a storage unit to temporarly house some items. After researching several storage facilities in the area, I decided on this particular Public Storage as the facilities were very well maintained, the prices were reasonable, but most importantly, the staff was very helpful and friendly upon our visit.
At the time, I took advantage of their $1 for the first month offer with the hopes of finishing my job quickly. Turns out that I was successful in completing my job before my month ended, and they were true to their word, letting me take advantage of the offer. No upselling. No strings attached. No additional charges. Basically they were upfront and honest. This was in comparison to another facility that after an intial inquiry, would not stop calling me repeatedly soliciting my business and had hidden charges.
In the end, this was an excellent experience, and I would not hesitate to both recommend or use their services again. Facilities were well maintained, there was easy access, and for me, the deal breaker was that the staff was very courteous, friendly, and professional.
I have no hesitation giving this facility a solid 5 stars, and would also like to specifically name Anna and Manjit, the staff that I dealt with, as offering stellar customer service and the reason that in the end, I decided, and will decide again, to go with this location.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brahm D.Fairview, Vancouver, BC01Aug 22, 2021
if you thought $1 rent for the first month was too good a deal to be true... you were right. They add on an administrative fee of $23 in the first month. Not a big deal, but definitely misleading. Otherwise seems clean and professionally run to standard you'd expect

one of the bigger locations. Good location considering more condos will be built here in SE Marin drive.
Nice and clean, well lit, and washrooms strategically around.
whats cool is in the back loading, they level off so same height as a moving truck.
Trolleys available, not sure if client rented or part of the service.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cecilia E.Burnaby, BC023Jan 4, 2021Updated review

I have rented from this location for 3 years now and I have to say it's Fantastic! I really enjoy driving up to my locker and being able to load unload whatever I need without having to take an elevator.
The staff is very very professional and I want to take a second to single out Mr. Al, he takes great pride in his work and it shows. He is always ready to help with little things like making sure I have boxes or whatever I need. The only thing I would improve is access beyond 8pm as I sometimes have to get some things after that but all in all Highly Recommend this storage facility.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pao P.Vancouver, BC01Jan 18, 2020
Staff is helpful, friendly, and very welcoming. The facility is organized and secure. Prices are competitive with other storage facilities in the city, and they offer great promotions. Highly recommended.

Absolutely terrible accountability at the Kinross St. location (off Marine Drive) of Public Storage in Vancouver. They continue to rent lockers in this self-storage facility knowing that there is a severe leaking problem in the roof. There are buckets everywhere, if you listen closely you can hear dripping all over the place when it's raining. It's Vancouver! It rains a LOT here! Better make sure their insurance covers damage to your property and you don't mind mould.
