Austin T.
Priority Plumbing was founded in 2001 by the current President Austin Tsakopoulos. Austin, a visionary leader in the plumbing industry recognized a huge problem in the plumbing service sector in the way service calls were being managed. Many competent plumbers who were great workers had decided to go into business for themselves. This created a huge problem in the industry as they lacked the necessary business and people skills to produce the higher standards demanded by homeowners. Sure they can smell like smoke, look dirty, work sloppy, and hide mistakes on a new construction or renovation job, but this did not go well when people called them into their homes. To this day, most plumbers need to recognize the difference in the marketplace between renovation or construction plumbers, and residential service plumbers.

Cole was very professional and helpful. He was able to fix the plumbing issue(s) we were having and was thoughtful in explaining the issues and some preventative maintenance measures for us. He worked into the evening to get it all done the same day. It was more expensive than we expected but we were happy with the service level and professionalism.

Outrageously expensive. I was charged over $700 and all the plumber did was to replace a toilet fill valve, a part that costs no more than $25 at Home Depot. The plumber told us that the there option was to replace the entire toilet (which was otherwise totally fine!), but it would cost $1,450!!!
I will NEVER EVER use that company again! Oh and they had the nerve to send me a $50 gift card in the mail a couple days later, to be used for future services. They should be ashamed, taking advantage of people like that. I have learned my lesson.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Faisal R.New York, United States07Sep 3, 2023
Overpriced. Inconsistent quotes. Responsive and professional only positive. Good for emergency services but unreasonable prices leave you feeling like you've been taken advantage of.

Dear Faisal, Our company promise is to offer the most convenient, reliable, and professional service in our industry at a fair price. We understand that some people are looking for the cheapest price possible, and this usually leads to poor workmanship. This is why we always offer the price before we begin any work. Please see 100% transparent pricing model that can be found here: https://priorityplumbing.ca/upfront-pricing-vs-time-and-material-pricing/

had used them in the past and they were good with some issues and not good with others.
They could not resolve an issue and I had to get another company involved. They charge high rates which are necessary in some circumstances but not in others.
their marketing tactics are annoying.
They call and leave a message and tell you they're coming "tomorrow" to do the annual plumbing check.
While they may be doing it for the right reasons it's a call centre or some marketing dept. and it's not something that I believe is very appropriate.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jordan D.Collingwood, ON441Oct 27, 2021
Inconsistent, not transparent, and over priced
Last year they did a job for $250, this year the exact same job was for $500. I shared the discrepancy of invoices while the job was approximately 45 minutes in total. When addressing the inconsistency, they said they mischarged previously. Additionally on the same visits I asked for a quote to repair an upstairs sink and the quote was $1200 the first time and $2300 the second time, the question/quotation was asked.
Overall although the staff are friendly, it's not transparent on the pricing. They have quoted tasks on ipads, which provide inconsistencies based on the plumber who plugs in the price quote to ask.
Will not be using it again as the value is not there for the pricing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Jordan, thank you for choosing us a 2nd time. Since this was the 2nd time using us, we can assume that the workmanship was done well. There were discounts involved during the first visit because of other work involved, and to say that we told you we "mischarged" is paraphrasing slightly :). We always provide pricing before we begin the work to avoid situations like this. Respectfully, The Priority Team.

We had sewage backup in the basement. Greg, the technician arrived on day one and failed to identify the real problem. He pointed to another problem area which turned out to be wrong on day 2. He promised to help clean up the mess on Day 2. On day 2, they said they cleared the problem but recommend even more work. I would have been keen to proceed but he left without helping to clean up the mess and dry the basement. They are NOT referrable as a result and most certainly guaranteed that their competitor with get the big lucrative project instead of Priority Plumbing, where customer service isn't valued.

Thank you for the opportunity to be your first choice to remedy your drainage issue. Although you had multiple issues that needed to be repaired, we did additional work without charging you extra. As a specialized plumbing and drain company, we promise to solve your plumbing problems with the utmost expertise and always clean up any mess that we make. It is quite common for us to fix plumbing problems in homes damaged by flooding, and usually, clients understand that our role is to fix the plumbing and not restore the home from flood damage. Just as we are specialized in Plumbing, there are restoration companies that deal with flood cleanup and who do not do plumbing. It was quite evident that you were happy with our workmanship until we informed you of this.

I needed dripping shower knobs upgraded. A man came out, told me it could not be done without taking my whole wall apart and replacing the pipes. He said he could not guarantee his work though he estimated 2-4 thousand dollars. He charged me 50 dollars to tell me the knobs could not be changed and were I to use their services, their work could not be guaranteed! I spoke to manager Jahmil, on the phone and asked for my money back. He said " we do not change knobs" . I got my money refunded. Don't trust these hypesters. If I could, they would get - 1. Far from the best.
Got work done by Alma Plumbing . Efficient and reasonably priced.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for placing your trust in us. Whenever we assess a job, we always take into consideration the cost to repair something along with the anticipated lifespan of the repair. The quality and age of the fixture that we aim to repair are factors. This is why we always offer replacement options in addition to repair options when there is a high risk of the repair not lasting. On the flip side, some companies only offer the repair option, and then clients are left paying twice to solve the initial problem. We apologize if there were some communication issues along the way. We did refund you since you were not happy.

they gave me a window from 8am-1pm. at 10am they called to say they were running late - totally understandable. at noon they called again to say they're running late- and at 2:55pm called to tell me they're not coming. They left my tenants totally stranded without toilets or water. I understand that people can run late, but don't keep me waiting all day and then tell me you're not coming. I will never use your service again.

Dear Carolina, we are sorry about the delay. We did warn you of the potential that we would not be able to make it out to your home in the event you wanted to reschedule or seek an alternate option. As with every home service entity, there are several times a year that we are overwhelmed with frozen and burst waterlines that cause significant delays to everyone. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Everything geared at Priority to ripping off customers. Big sign on Dupont st advertising drain cleanout for $99. Total nonsense. The dispatcher refuses to give any cost beforehand. The guy who came to the house wanted to charge $475 plus hst for a simple bsmt drain cleanout, which is a ripoff. And he didn't even have the tools with him, and woud have had to return next day. I sent him away and reached mr. Rooter guy, who quickly solved the problem at a lot less money than priority.
Frankly, when I read the positive reviews in yelp about priority I strongly suspect the company has planted the reviews. The wording in the reviews from "customers" is highly suspect.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sean P.Toronto, ON1201Dec 28, 2018
The website to book a visit is really slick but everything else was highly disappointing.
I needed cartridges replaced in my bathroom sink and shower. Two tech's showed up and were being really creepy constantly saying "wow your place is so nice, must be expensive" over and over. It didn't really feel like a compliment but more like I was being cased. At the end of the consultation I had to pay the 50$ visit fee, and they wanted to charge me $1200 for the job. I asked why it was so expensive and they said it was because all my fixtures were "premium" and they had to buy more expensive parts for it. They refuse to split out parts and labour on their invoices.
I turned down the service because I felt unsafe with their communication and that they were trying to rip me off. I ended up buying the replacement parts myself. They were not infact premium, costing me 30$ total at retail price. I then got a plumber through the "jiffy" app, which cost me 80$ for the 1 hour job, including them replacing my under sink pipes that started leaking when we replaced the cartridges.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Sean, Our employees are subject to strict drug testing and criminal background checks before we hire them. This is your assurance that all of our plumbers are safe and reliable. We are sorry if you felt uncomfortable with what seems to be compliments. Based on the comments in your review, we believe that you hired Jiffy to repair the sink faucet and not the shower faucet which is actually a much more expensive repair. Thank you very much, - The Priority Team.
