If I could I would give this a big zero.
Worse No frills of them all. The workers look miserable working there. Small place you feel to tight. Floors dirty. Seems like every time I go only 3 lanes open. People standing outside calling you if you need rides. Which gets annoying. The cashiers give you dirty looks and seems like the soul is escaping them.
Stay far away go down the road to freshcoHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - V A.Toronto, ON12512Oct 21, 2010First to Review
If No Frills were states, this would be New Jersey. This place is truly an armpit.
Cons:
-located in a crap neighbourhood
-narrow aisles
-always a lineup
-standup (door) freezers are often over half empty
-bin freezers are often half empty and have old stock with ice buildup or damaged packing
-store is tiny
-unfriendly staff
-generally grubby store
Pros
-parking lot across street
-bus stop close by
-same prices as other No Frills
If you don't like discount groceries to begin with, you're saver going to either the No frills at Dufferin/Bloor, or Eglington/Photography. Otherwise enjoy the Ghetto No Frills.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Marg F.Toronto, ON011Oct 8, 2018
This No Frills is, without a doubt, the worst store I have ever been in. Make that not just No Frills, but any other store. The place is filthy, and why do they never have what is advertised on sale in the weekly flyers. The staff are generally rude, give the attitude that they couldn't care less and do as little as possible to help you. The other day when I was there, the cashier left her post, while there were customers waiting, to take back a buggy and get the $1.00!!!!!!! Even as another cashier was yelling at her and telling her not to do that. The only reason I go there is because my elderly mother lives in the area, and I sometimes have to pick up something for her. Please owners of the store and Powers that Be, i.e. owners of No Frills stores, do something about this Hell Whole.

Great store and lovely people.
Always in stock and on sale.
Service is good and usually it is easy to find an employee. Unlike other stores I never spent more than a minute wondering around (actually the store is so small it won't take more than a minute to canvas...)
When they get the price wrong at the cash they will give you the item for free (max $10) as compensation for your time waiting while they approve the mistake. I don't bother when it's a small mistake and besides I shop there twice a week in the past couple of years and only had about 5 mistakes out of complaint once about elite coffee they doubled the price at cash (item was on sale 50%).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Terry K.Toronto, ON812Jul 2, 2012
Filthy floors, unkempt stock, horribly small and the staff is so unfriendly and unhelpful. HOWEVER, some of the young girls at the cash are very friendly. It is a shame that the older staff make terrible role models

I have an idea...how about put in an express lane like what every other grocery store in the world has? If you are going to put only 3 people on cash at peak times then the least you could do is have an express lane for those of us who are only buying a few things.
I am giving 2 stars instead of just 1 because they did a bit of renovation recently and also it's cheap which is nice. But it seems that the renovation is finished and they are just leaving a bunch of exposed particle board showing everywhere, and THERE'S NO EXPRESS LANE!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - S K.Toronto, ON492May 5, 2012
As with all discount stores, great prices!
I couldn't find a vegetarian section. The items shown as "on sale" in the flyer - I couldn't find any of the ones that I wanted. Staff were unfriendly. Not much of a variety for fruit.
And they had week old yogurt that I accidentally bought. How does yogurt expire for a week and they don't get rid of it?!?
I was excited to have a discount store close by but it's a pretty sketchy store.
The good thing is that it has a bus stop right outside of the store. That is nice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vil B.Toronto, ON0378Jul 3, 2017
They're a small store, so a lot of their shortcomings probably stem from that, but the place consistently doesn't stock major sale items seen in the flyer, yet they somehow have shelf space for niche ethnic foods for communities that do not reside in the area. In many cases items that are in stock the night before they go on sale suspiciously disappear overnight, only to return once the sale ends. Many small food items that used to be sold individually by weight are now sold prepackaged, meaning one can no longer buy the single jalapeno or ginger knob they need, but instead must buy large packages for ten times the cost, most of which will go to waste. I walked out with absolutely nothing today because every single item on my list was not in stock. Not exactly convenient. It's like they're trying to drive business to the bigger No Frills a few kilometers west. Other than that the place is clean, and the staff nice, although the cashiers are either very efficient or absolutely lethargic. You learn quickly which check-out lines to get into.
