One Martial Arts strives to be more than just a martial arts school. Indeed, the facility teaches young children discipline, and adults techniques for fending off attackers and pushy car salesmen. But it also sustains a family-oriented community, and an environment in which students of any age can reach their fullest potential. That's certainly the vision of owner and head instructor, Brannon Beliso, who has more than 46 years of martial arts experience. At One Martial Arts, Brannon has surrounded himself with an equally talented group of instructors. Together, they shape students during kids' classes, adult classes, and beginner-friendly kickboxing sessions.

Thank you for your question. There is a data and studies that show that martial arts can be very beneficial for a child with special needs. Depending where a child may be on the spectrum, parents have been very grateful for the growth they witness… more

Love this place! I went from working out maybe 5 times in a year at the regular gym to being so dedicated to this kickboxing class that I usually go 3x/week. Professor and the entire team is so inspiring and motivational. Also love that I can bring my kids with me so nothing holds me back from investing in my own health. Highly recommend.

It's not intense in that there's any shaming or punitive approach to the instruction. The class progresses together and there is a theme for every 1-2 weeks that focuses on behaviors and ideas like family, respect, spirit, confidence and many other great things to talk to your kids about.
We've been sending our son here for six months and has fun and is motivated to practice. It's a good activity if your kid doesn't like team sports but still wants the socialization. I signed my 12 year old son up a few months ago, during COVID, and he has been doing virtual classes. He is loving it and so are we. The only issue is we didn't sign him up sooner. He loves the group lesson and the private lesson each week. I find the instructors are really sincere and don't talk down to my son but talk to him. They are really great with explaining things. It definitely exceeded my expectations. First of all, It was very well organized. They did such a great job decorating the party room with themed balloons and the customized birthday banner. Even water bottles had a theme label on them! Second, the staff was very friendly, attentive and engaging to all kids. I was pleasantly surprised how many staff members they had present for the party. The games were really fun and entertaining, like dodge ball, zombie tag etc. and of course the favorite of them all - the breaking board part :)

They don't spend an eternity on warm up and running around which allows more time to spend w/ your own bag. TJ is incredibly nice. Came to check on me a few times but didn't chat too long so that I can focus on my freestyle. Clean mats and dojo, overall. Great workout...more so than BAFA in Hayward and a lot closer, too.
