great little spot in the shipyards. excellent pasta and pizza (the dough is outstanding). service was professional and fun. nice wine list with interesting selections.
only complaint is the rock and roll music blasting. completely wrong for the ambiance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 23, 2022
We made a reservation to go to Nook one evening after we realized we would be spending some time down by Lonsdale. I've always wanted to try this place out as they're really busy.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a host and was asked to wait outside for 15 - 20 minutes (due to COVID). As soon as we sat down, we were not surprised by the amount of diners around us and the bustling of the restaurant.
We decided to share a couple appetizers, and a few mains to share. For starters we got the chicken liver crostini as well as the meatballs.
The crostini, while creamy and flavourful, was a tad bit pricey IMO, but that being said, it was probably the best dish that evening. The meat balls were tender but overall not very memorable.
For our mains we got the prosciutto pizza, the crust was great, perfectly cooked. The pastas were also cooked to Al dente, and had plenty of sauce.
Overall the atmosphere is great if you enjoy the bustling places, maybe not for a first date though. Service was prompt and on point. Will definitely go back and try other things on their menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 383732822Dec 21, 2022
Family dinner at the Shipyards location of Nook Restaurant . We ordered a variety of appetizers, salad, pastas and pizza for the table. Reviews for this restaurant are generally quite good, but I have to admit that some of the dishes on our table were quite disappointing.
No complaints about any of the appetizers or salad, and the pizza was fantastic (Margherita pizza and Anchovy pizza); however, the pasta dishes turned out to be quite unremarkable. If you're in the mood for pizza and some tasty appetizers, then this restaurant is a wonderful place to come to.
One thing that did impress me was seeing that the bottle of water on our table was an Avalon milk bottle. I was really happy to see them reusing the milk bottle for water. Eco friendly options score brownie points with me!
Service: Good
Parking: Free parking on Lonsdale if you're lucky enough to snag a spot, otherwise there's a pay parking lot available in the same building as Nook Restaurant.

Nook restaurant is one of my favourite joints for Italian cuisine their pizzas always take me back to Italy. Make sure to ask for Chili oil and Chili flakes
We ordered;
Arugula & Nectarine salad 9/10
Daily special (Rigatoni Pancetta) 7/10
Mushroom Pizza 10/10
Before or after your meal make sure to go for a walk by the Shipyards and the dry dock pier.
Con: Parking
Pro: The staff has always been friendly and they have a good selection of daily & weekly specials.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cynthia B.SoMa, San Francisco, United States08Mar 4, 2024
soft almost soggy pizza x 2, visibly could see crust was white no tinge of brown or bit of charred bubbles from oven. Lady who served us used a lot of eye rolling, we felt unwelcome. We used to love going to shipyards... I'm not sure we will be back

Food was fantastic, prices were ok, but the gray haired guy with the dumb hat was rude to my family several times despite not even being our server.

Nook is our favourite restaurant in Vancouver. Sensational food, exceptional service and lovely staff. We brought our week old daughter here for dinner last night and the staff gave us the entire dinner free as a touching kind gesture. We're so appreciative and will be returning for as long as it's open! Thanks Guys!

Came here after the meat and cheese festival because we were craving the rich delicious pizzas they offered here.
Luckily we came around 2pm so there wasn't much of a line, but it was such a good call coming here! (Swipe for menu).

Procuitto ($25) ~ This pizza was handsdown exactly what I was craving, it was delicious and rich and flavourful. The crust was not oily, but it was chewy and not too thick. The proscuitto was salty and generous layer and I loved the argulua pairing. 100% recommend dipping this in their chilli oil because it was a chef kiss combo. The roast garlic on top was the cherry on top because it was exactly what perfected the pizza.

10/10 ~ I really liked the pizza, it was good and not too oily and procuitto, all its missing is a side of burrata!!!! A good place to get a pizza to share.
*
7/10 ~ its not cheap here an entire pizza was $25 before tax for 8 slices, but a good item to share with friends. Total bill before tip : $28 (4 people).Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Aug 31, 2021Previous reviewDelicious restaurant right in the heart of shipyards in North Vancouver. They have a few different stores but north Vancouver location was amazing! We went on a Tuesday so walk in only and we got lucky with the tables! Super nice feasting with @twofoodpiggies & @5ronaminji
*
Heirloom tomato tasting platter ($22) added burrata (+$8) ~ soooo good the tomatoes were very fresh and so juicy and plump! The burrata was outstanding soo too we ended up adding another burrata and crostini's after (+$12) The seasoning was perfect and the croistinis were soo crunchy! Perfect bite with the burrata and tomato.
*
2X Pesca ($5/each) ~ very refreshing drink! It's peach but not over powering. Good light drink to compliment and cleanse the pallet for the amazing food ahead!
*
Aperol spritz ($13)~ this was strong and tasty! The spritz was delicious and very refreshing! This is a good drink for a hot day!
*
Housemate sausage pizza ($25), we added pepperoni (+$8) ~ this was heavy! The pepperoni tbh added a extra flavour but not worth the added on $8. The crust was delicious and crunchy and the filling was good and tasty with the sausages on it. They gave us a side of chilli oil and chilli flakes to add on.
*
Rigatoni Boscaiola ($25) ~ this was delicious, it was al dente I do wish it was a tad chewier as it was like just hitting al dente a few seconds less would be still hard. The flavours were good and the sauce was good.
*
Tonnarelli cacio Pepe ($22) , add pancetta ($8) ~ this was the star! Definitely my favourite one here! Creamy and saucy and the pancetta was such a good add on. The pasta was nice and chewy and overall chef kiss if I come back I'd get this one!
*
9/10 ~ overall the burrata was outstanding and a must try! The cacio Pepe was also a dish which stood out. 100% recommend these 2! The others were ok. I'd come again for the burrata for sure!
*
5/10~ the bill can easily be expensive due to the add ons as it was pricier than we thought it would be. The portions were decent and delicious. Total bill before tip: $162.15.

Fantastic. Really impressed with this cozy Nook on the North Shore. All the COvID protocols in place. Felt well protected in that respect. Nice view of the downtown Vancouver skyline. Fireplace on the patio. Good selection of local microbrews on tap. Excellentlt currated wine list, designed for the mostly Italian menu. We shared a Ceasar salad to die for. With anchovies, which is what takes a Ceasar to its true height, IMHO. Then we had the mushroom pancetta pizza, which was very yummy, Napoli style, on a thin crust, hot from the oven. Eat this fresh or leave it behind. This is not the type of pizza for leftovers. The Chianti we chose went well both with the pizza and the delicious dark chocolate mousse dessert, layered with a salted caramel mousse. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Extra kudus to the bar staff for the wine suggestions. We'll definitely be back.
