Moxies

I came to Moxies last night after attending a different restaurant and not having any service within 10 minutes of being seated! I am so happy I chose to come to Moxies because the service was really good. We were seated right away & the server was very friendly and quick.

My husband and I ordered the nachos (with the addition of beef), and they were very good! The only downside was we only ordered nachos (no drinks), and the overall bill (with tip) came to almost $40!! (Nachos were $27 and beef was an additional $7 I believe). Very pricey for just nachos - I'd expect to pay that if we got mains or drinks.

Either way - we had a wonderful evening and I would come back to Moxies again soon!

We were a mixed bunch of diners comprising vegetarians, non-vegetarians, and one pescaterian vegetarian. And we all found something to eat. So plus points for that.

Food took a while to arrive, but overall, a good dining experience.

Great food and ambiance.  It's the perfect place for lunch with coworkers but also appropriate for a date night. The location is great and close to lots of offices and retail space. It's also pretty close to the high way so you can get in and out pretty quickly.

The service:
Since we came here during out lunch hour and we had a meeting at 1pm, we had told the staff and they were very accomodating. We were in and out of there in an hour and it was much appreciated that they were able to accomodate our tight schedule.

The food:
Love coming to Moxie's overall because the ingredients are always fresh and food comes out pretty quickly for a sit down restaurant.

Veg power bowl: I love how fresh the ingredients are. It's almost like a reconstructed sushi wrap. They are generous with the avocado serving the dish with half of an avocado. I also liked that it was served with tofu and edamame. I would definitely order this again.

Cobb salad: the salad itself looked pretty small because it was stacked high. However it came with a large piece of salmon right on top which was cooked well and very filling.

Steak salad: the steak was well seasoned and we'll cooked. I love that it was served with bread on the side so it almost feels like an opened faced sandwich. Flavours overall were fresh and satisfying.

my love for shrimp goes back soooo many years! i would even go to say, i prefer it over chicken and beef give me a shrimp pasta or in this case, shrimp tacos and i'm downnnnnn!

@moxies blackened shrimp tacos definitely hit the spot! i dined in last night with my bestie & it was good to see everyone following protocol (masks, social distancing, taking your name and number and hand sanitizer everywhere). i don't know how frequently i'll dine in, but i'm glad to see the staff and customers doing their part in ensuring everyone was safe. have you dined in anywhere? what was your experience like? xoxo @saugaf00die #saugaf00die

Family dinner- 26th anniversary- night out with Jo & Ami.

The food was good. The house wine ( cab-sav) was a bit too flat. The service was beautiful. The overall experience was a 4 star. The inside ambience was a bit less than it should have been.

Had to post again, but this time, we only went for appetizers. As much as we loved the food, boy was it expensive. For 4 Cokes and 5 appetizers (1 calamari, 1 nachos with the spicy chicken and guacamole, 2 truffle fries and salt and pepper chicken wings.) it cost well over $100 not including tip. Don't think we'll come back again for appetizers only. But we will go back again on special occasions and definitely more when I win the lottery lol. Also, WARNING!...We tried the GUACAMOLE for the first time and it it was not good. It had a hint of cardamom in it and the combination of both cardamom and guacamole did not go well together at all. And unfortunately we had to waste all that avocado, bummer! So Moxie's, listen up! Just stick to regular Mexican guac and keep the truffle fries on your regular menu please and thanks!

We went on a Saturday night around 9:30pm dressed very casually after an outdoor excursion. I called ahead but they said we did not need a reservation for 2 people.
Upon arrival we were seated right away and given water................then they forgot about us
We finally flagged down another server (as we could not see ours anywhere) and she took our order.
Hubby had the beef vindaloo which he said was tasty, spicy, but lacking in beef.
There was not much that was vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free. I opted for the lettuce wraps but I'm not sure if the noodles on top were gluten free. At that time I just wanted to eat something and go home so I ate it (thank goodness I don't have celiac). The first lettuce leaf was wilted and brown but the others were ok.
The interior of the restaurant was big and nice. The ladies washroom was also nice and had 2 large chairs with mirrors and lights to do makeup.
Lots of free parking in the plaza.

I usually don't go to franchised restaurants (like Moxie's, Milestones Jack Astor's, etc), but it was getting late and the kids (both under the age of 2) were hungry. They seated us quickly in an enclosed area with bench seats. My 22-month-old didn't want to sit in the highchair and managed quite well sitting beside me for the entire dinner. The restaurant was quite loud, but that's expected on a Friday night.

Food: I ordered from the fixed price menu, Cesar salad with lots of bacon, could use a bit more dressing, mushroom sirloin with a double baked potato (like the one at the Keg), finished off with a half portion of the salted caramel and pecan cheesecake (it was dried out on top, but the bottom made with crushed pecans was delicious!). My hubby ordered the peppercorn steak with an added side of shrimp, both were cooked perfectly. The shrimp was a fair size and my daughter gobbled them up!

Re. Drinks - must try their pomergranate beet soda (I ordered the pineapple lemon one first, but that tasted like medicine to me).

Our server was super attentive, and was accomodating with my daughter. Our empty/dirty plates were constantly cleared out and our server came by to ask if everything was alright several times.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at this Moxie's and will definitely return with my young family! The children's menu was great too, my daughter had the chicken bites (fresh, chicken was soft, batter was not overpowering), that came with unlimited drinks (she had milk) and ice cream (served with dry ice!)

I called around 6:25pm the first receptionist picked up and I told her if we could make a reservation for 4 people at 7pm, she said she would put me on hold for a moment. I was on hold for 4 minutes and I hung up. So I called again another lady picked up saying they dont take reservation after 6pm, walk in only. I was wondering the first girl could have just told me no reservation rather she put me on hold.

We showed up at the restaurant at 6:45pm. We were offered to be seated in the lounge right away- that was pretty awesome.

The services were just MEHHHHH...
The portions were pretty small compared to before. I finished my shrimp linguine and I was still hungry....compare to before I couldnt finish the entire dish and I had to pack them to go.

My hubby ordered a "Loaded burger" he finished it in 5 minutes and he was still hungry as well...

My friends and myself love Moxie's white chocolate brownie....by far the best brownie ever in town....the dessert was super delicious....

We would come back again for the white chocolate brownie only NOT for any of their meals.....

My favourite location of them all... probably because of the staff :) A regular spot for my lunch meetings, and the occasional dinner...

Never disappoints.

Consistent, good quality, and outstanding service (special shout-out to Kylie...our favourite server)...makes us feel welcome every time!
