This is a fun little variety store! It has an interesting assortment of different items at pretty affordable prices. The store sells some items reminiscent of a dollar store but a bit more expensive and better in quality.
They sell makeup, stationary, toys, clothing accessories, lamps, selfie sticks, Bluetooth speakers and even a toaster oven for $50! I didn't check the prices on the electronics but most prices were reasonable.
The store is brightly lit and well organized. It's fun to check out the different items. I bought my boyfriend a red bow tie when I came here. This is a great place to find some inexpensive gifts!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Dec 18, 2017
Alright, let's be clear, Miniso touts itself as a Japanese inspired style dollar store, when it is actually Chinese. Almost everything there is made in China & most of their chain stores are based there as well. My in-law always seems to buy my family souvenirs from this brand whenever he goes to China.
I was surprised that they've expanded to Canada so I had to pay it a visit.
The store itself is small, but there is just enough room to manoeuvre a regular stroller but the aisles are tight & not in straight rows like most dollar stores. Pricing is not cheap like a dollar store, but affordable for what they offer. I would say item quality is superior than dollar store for many things. Items are also packaged very nicely & uniformly, look stylish/trendy/classy, some are also unique, and kid friendly, so it seems like your getting a good deal. I've never really had complaints about the stuff I've received from there or from what I bought. The staff are pretty friendly too & although there is very limited parking in the front, there's also parking stalls available at the back of the building too. I'd definitely come back to find some new things that 'I didn't know I needed in my life until I got there' type stuff.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 10, 2018
Really digging this plaza that they're building around Miniso - lots of Asian goodness next to each other and plenty of parking.
Miniso is a cute, bright store that was established in Japan, but the majority of its products are Chinese. (If you look them up, they're actually described as a "Chinese low-cost retailer" headquartered in China) There are lots of things to look at - think similar to an Asian dollar store. You'll likely find lots of cute things from purses/make up to stationery and kitchenware. Pricing is ok - I saw things between $3 and $20 ish (for some of the lamps and headphones.)
It's fun to walk around, and prices are a bit cheaper than a similar, bigger store in WEM.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael L.Edmonton, AB3511165Dec 23, 2017
It's an interesting location, surrounded by other stores within a little strip. Upon walking into the store it is very bright and clean. The spacing between displays is not too bad and everything is laid out in such a manner you can start at one side of the store and more your way to the end in a circular movement.
I checked it all out: cosmetics, electronics, glasswares, silverware, jewellery accessories, and clothing accessories.
They have some great stuff, and quite honestly the prices are very very good. It depends what your looking for but check it out for yourself.
They staff was helping as best as they could and tellers were busting there butts in there, it was busy.
Check it out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Edwin D.Northeast Edmonton, Edmonton, AB422101564May 18, 2018
I Love these Japanese miniature stores well at least I feel like they sell miniature stuff. Very convenient for asians and is like a dollarama. Found lots of neat gadgets and gizmos, the simple stuff. I bet you can also find good gifts here for peoples birthday's and the price feels right.
They have a diverse selection on simple house use stuff or even simple fixes such as socks. If you explore long enough your bound to buy an item for sure. Definitely a place to check out once a month, at least that's what I will be doing. I found they have children stuff that costs a few bucks but it's educational and mind challenging. It's no wonder they are smart; they train children to be creative at an early age. Staff is friendly and parking is cramped due to many stores nearby.
Recommended for anyone looking to spend a few bucks for something unique.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kihya M.Edmonton, AB198137297Dec 18, 2017First to Review
I love this little store! I had no idea what to expect when we walked in but it was so cool!
This store just opened in Griesbach and it's so cute! There are so many different products you can pick up in here from makeup to bathroom stuff to purses. There are even unique snack choices that you can't really find anywhere else.
The store itself is a big, open-concept store and is bright and clean. We went in at night but I can just imagine the amount of light it gets during the day. It's a wonderful shopping experience!
This is the first store like this in Alberta, and I can definitely see more of them popping up in malls and shopping centres everywhere.
I suggest checking out this little store of you're in the area. There is something for everyone!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Kimiko P.Edmonton, AB5326250Dec 9, 2018
I love Miniso. I could spend hours in here and blow tons of $$$. Everything is just so cute!
This is a Japanese store that is kind of reminiscent of a dollar store. It's got the same random assortment of items, all for cheap prices. There's home good, makeup, stuffed animals, toys, etc etc. I have a particular love for the arts and crafts and home sections.
Tons of great little trinkets that would work well for gifts. Or would be a great stop for back to school supply shopping.
Everything that I have bought from Miniso has been high quality and affordable. Dare I say it... I prefer Miniso to Oomomo.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Natalie C.Edmonton, AB208639Jan 4, 2018
Welcome to YEG, Miniso! Located in the new Griesbach strip mall area, Miniso is a bright, new experience in the city. The inside is bright, spacious, loaded with goodies, and most often busy. They have tons of stuff ranging from cosmetics to tote bags to pencils to alarm clocks to bath towels to stuffed animals; the list goes on and on and on. It's definitely an interesting spot if you're in the area.
Anticipating its opening since the first announcement, I went to Miniso on their second day of business and it was crazy busy. The store aisles are quite close together and there were so many moving bodies in there it was difficult to squeeze past, but on a regular day it would probably be a bit easier to navigate. Everything is organized into sections, and the shelves are clean and well organized.
The store prices are very cheap, and they have a wide range of things like I mentioned before. I'd say average price on things was around 2-6 dollars; it's like a Japanese dollar store but they had more high quality items and everything was priced fair, rather than having all items (both the cheap and high quality stuff) set at one price.
Staff were quite friendly, despite the store being pretty hectic. I ended up leaving with quite a lot of stuff for around $30. They also have Japanese snacks too if you're into that! In general it was a good visit, but I don't think I'll be returning for anything specific, especially since I don't live near the area. It was cool to check out, though!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jenna G.Edmonton, AB369443Feb 21, 2018
Like any dollar store-type shop, it's probably best to go in expecting to find very little, and you'll walk out with a bag filled with things you "need." On my most recent trip, I bought an off-brand/no name phone charger, a scarf, a handful of brush markers, batteries, and like, 7 boxes of biscuits for under $30.
While you're up in Greisbach, take some time to check out the other businesses in the new plaza around MiniSo, they've been adding in some great shops and restaurants and really revitalizing the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lynn T.Edmonton, AB17114672Jan 19, 2018
A Japanese designed, but made-in-China merchandise store. Apparently this is a large chain in China, but I've never been to one before. Prices range from around $2-45. Kinda of like a dollar store but higher quality goods. In comparison to Daiso, in Japan, it would carry similar types of items plus more pricier stuff. This is a smaller store but they are able to offer a lot of variety in the space. A fun place to check out if you're on the hunt for cute asian goodies!
