Midas

Not impressed. I called to get an idea of the expense for replacing a tail pipe. On the first call I reached someone and they gave me an idea of the cost. After checking other places I called them back to get a more solid quote and could never reach anyone. Called several times at different times of day. Left a message and still not response.

I was a customer at this location for almost 10 years. As a single female, I always appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness the owner, staff and mechanics greeted me with. My mechanic was wonderful, always bringing me into the garage to show me what was going on with my car.

Sadly, ownership changed within the last two years and with it customer service. The new owner, who mans the desk, is rude, argumentative and condescending. The final straw was when he charged me for 12.5 litres of oil when my tank was only down 2.5 litres. He took the price of a 5 litre jug and multiplied it by 2.5 (resulting in 12.5 litres). When I called back to tell him that, he argued with me. I had him tell me exactly what brand, etc he used and looked it up myself online (liquid moly 5E-30 synthetic motor oil). I was charged $137 for oil that should have cost me $27. My dealership quoted me $12. After 10 years of business, I am now going to the dealer: the ones I EXPECT to be criminals.

Stay away from Midas on Carling (or at least check your invoice before paying anything.

They sent me a private message to call them. I have called them several times asking to speak to the owners, but he is always away on Business. One person I talked to at Midas actually told me that they used better than OEM parts and that's why they cost so much more than at the Ford Dealership. That is the Dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I recently got my truck serviced just down the street from Midas and I told them what I had done. They said they would have charged me just over $600 cheaper than Midas for the same work using OEM parts.
