Megabus

I was lucky enough to get one of the $1 tickets from Portland, Maine to Boston, Mass so was thrilled. I thought this might be like Bolt where the crappy departure times (4:00 am!) rated the cheaper prices but I soon noticed it was first come, first serve for the discounts. When I saw the $1 rates show up for the day before I needed to travel, I constantly checked the Website and then jumped as soon as the next day's trips appeared and managed to score a cheap ticket. The Megabus to Boston is actually a bus run by Concord Coach Lines. I later needed to book a Concord Coach bus to get from Bath to Portland and upon scheduling that, found out that it was actually the SAME bus I would be taking the rest of the way to Boston. Worked out perfect for me! The bus was on time. Very clean and set up to prevent the spread of Covid (empty seats next to each occupied seat). Driver was friendly and efficient. In spite of others' bad reviews, my experience with Megabus was great. I would highly recommend this bus service to others and will certainly use it again if I am in the area.

Megabus is the best bus service I ever saw. punctual to arrive from start to destination, the bus is clean & confortable, the staffs communicate politely, fair price

Don't sleep on this bus service!!!!! I was thinking about the Amtrak train or a flight. By far this is the best option. This experience has made me want to take a few more trips.

The one tip I will say is that you really need to be there on time. THEY WILL LEAVE YOU!!!!

Liked sitting in front top row of double decker bus from DC to Philadelphia. Nice reclining seat. Easy to switch to earlier bus for $5 per person. Sorry to say might be tricky to walk around while moving. Fortunately the 15 minute stop at White Marsh allows a leg stretch and toilet break.

Let me start off by saying, if you purchase Megabus tickets, you are fully aware that this is not a high end bus. That being said, this trip has exceeded my expectations. After reading the reviews on yelp, I was very nervous about getting on the bus, especially as a young girl alone, but I was happy to find my concerns were unnecessary. I got to the station 15 minutes prior to the time we were scheduled to leave and they were already boarding the bus. The boarding process was seamless and efficient. I was surprised to see the level of cleanliness, a 10 out of 10 for me. The bus was very updated and far from outdated as stated in previous reviews. We left on time, not a minute after, and the ride was actually shorter than expected. The only down-side is the leg space. Very little leg space, but that should be expected on any low-fair bus. Overall, I was very satisfied with my trip, and would definitely do this again!

I paid 10$ for a Ticket to NYC. The bus was on time and clean. In the beginning it was freezing cold in the bus, due to the AC. I asked the bus driver if she could adjust it and she did. After that it was perfect. Would definitely take that bus again!

Taking the bus 11:30am DC to NYC was the greatest pleasure. Wifi was working , bus was clean and on time. As a tourist from Europe I'm very impressed.

Wow. Look, I really think these bad reviews are a result of the classic Yelp conundrum with things like buses: when all goes well, people forget about it. The 10% of the time it does not go well, they run to Yelp to vent. Megabus is the best way to get to Philly or NYC, hands down. If you have a better way, tell me.

Their prices are FANTASTIC. They typically get me from NYC to DC or vice versa for around $10 on average (off peak hours). Sometimes I get tickets for $3!!!

If I'm early or late, they usually seem to be able to put me on a different bus. They leave every hour most days, which makes it really convenient.

The buses are perfectly comfortable. No complaints.

The other day, I had my first ever bad experience, the bus was an hour late, then had a mechanical problem, we got to NYC about an hour and a half late. Grumble grumble. Two days later, unprompted, I get an email that I'm getting a full refund!

If you hate the $10-$15 Megabus, please, be my guest, pay fifteen times as much for Amtrak. Nothing ever goes wrong there...

Thank you to the Megabus worker that did not make us wait in the cold this morning in NYC. Two great drivers, quick clean and great price.

(BTW - Yelp, post my comments if i spend the time and effort to make them give the business the benefit. If i were reviewing YELP 1 star for sorry performance.)

I took Megabus to Philly from DC and back last weekend - bus was on time, fast, and clean. Bus driver was courteous, luggage was handled well, lights, wifi all working. Highly recommended; great price too!
