Since I was happy to call them out for their errors in the past, I think it's only fair to praise them for their much improved accuracy of order fulfillment in the last year or so.
Update: I spoke too soon ... my last delivery order was a 'BigMac style' Triple Cheeseburger meal, whereby they successfully eliminated the mustard & ketchup, added the lettuce, but forgot the Big Mac sauce - dry burger, anyone? They also sent me no straw for my Coke. :/
Hit or miss seems to be the norm here. It's literally right across the street, plus cheap delivery on DD, and usually fresh and tasty, so I will still use them despite semi-regular omissions.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 8, 2020Previous reviewMy only experience with this location is through SkipTheDishes, which is funny since it's practically across the road from where I live.
But it's one of my go-to's when I'm working late and can't break for dinner - because it's so close, the food arrives hot.
Problem is, I have not once ever had a fully correct and complete order from this location.
Forgotten items, single burger instead of a double burger, occasionally a nice surprise item I didn't order or pay for instead of the one I did, and one time they even shipped the extra packet of peanuts I ordered, but forgot the sundae to go with it.
Always way too much salt on the fries but that is common to many McDonalds locations, but overall, pretty much what you expect from McDonald's, with the exception of misplaced, lost, or incorrect items in virtually every order.
Fortunately, Skip will refund items that are not delivered, but even if you get your money back, it's still no fun munching on a small bag of peanuts for dessert, instead of the hot fudge sundae you ordered, lol - Eric B.Old Toronto, Toronto, ON01Apr 17, 2024

Maybe 2.5. Definite negatives from corporate level. Can't use mobile/kiosk for breakfast. But you can still order in person if you know better? Wt ..
I'm seriously disappointed with the new Nutella and bagel deal. UGHH PACKETS. Not getting that again ..
Dirtier than other locations this age. Also pretty noisy. Guess that's what you get at 6PM on a weekday beside a TTC subway station. Hope the bathroom isn't horrible!
Staff are basically teaching themselves how to do their job. The debate among the staff on what a 4.5 stack of soft serve is supposed to look like was quite entertaining. I'm with the guy who actually counted the full swirls and added the tip as the .5. It looked the right size and I agree that's how someone should count.
The number of staff is adequate but I had a hard time knowing if the one who served me could understand what I was saying based on their limited vocabulary. I said dine in for my order and ended up with the redundant paper bag and no tray instead.
Definitely glad this isn't the location I'd need if I wanted a pleasant AND convenient experience.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Apr 10, 2019
The interior decoration is very funky! It is at the corner of Yonge and Sheppard so a very good location.
Around 7pm on a Wed, they are very busy. Good thing I used mobile ordering to get my free medium French fries and free large pop and a Happy Meal. The mobile order was filled very quickly.
They have self-serve order kiosks, self-serve drink machine and plenty of seats.
There are 2 Tv's and free WiFi.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 7, 2018
Beware of homeless vagrants detracting from your experience. If a fight were to break out, it will most likely happen near the television. To be cautious, I would recommend a seat by the exit and leaving all your personal belongings on you (i.e. dining with your coats/jackets on and purse across your shoulder).
This is allowed to happen as our stellar police officers will not remove anyone (regardless if they over stayed the posted maximum time to use the dining room) until they have actually, killed or hurt someone or became belligerent and embarked on a rampage by destroying property.
Otherwise, you're on your own; unless you have a bodyguard protecting you.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 6, 2017
I came in here because I heard about the automated kiosk ordering system as it slowly takes over possibly all of the McDonald's in North America. There were 4 giant screens where you have to use your fingers to swipe through the various menus or go back and forth to switch between categories on what you want to order. Each machine also has a credit card reader, a scanner for coupon, and the screens are in a well lit area where the sunlight won't give it glare and make it hard to see. The only down side is that the screens are right at the front door and it's a bit cramp with people with backpacks on. Once you order, you will get your receipt with your number on it and the workers will have your food ready and call out your order.
One of the local gave me a coupon for a $1 McCafe and I used it on the machine and thinking they will need to take the coupon when I get my food but no, McDonald's worker did not care so the coupon could possibly be used and used again until the expiration date. It was quite interesting to see how the fast food industry will be slowly evolved to with these automated kiosks and still find it interesting that people are still going up to the cashier to order it the old fashion way. I don't feel by any means it made my food come out faster but it does cut out the interaction and one long queue line when you can just line up behind whichever kiosk you want to use next.
The food, I mean, it's McDonald's, at least they are strictly consist on the taste, the portion, and what makes a McDonald's burger taste like their burger with chopped onion, well done beef patty, s shot of the ketchup and mustard, and with the pickle to round it off. The McCafe is definitely you can skip upon and go to a Tim Hortons to get yourself a better coffee.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Koumei Z.Willowdale, Toronto, ON78175105Jun 12, 2019
UPDATE: fellow Yelper Aleks R reminded me that unlike government workers, fast food store managers are in a different position, if public media speaks anything against them, should they make any intervention. That totally makes sense to me so I took it back.
------------------------
I don't know why I would review a McDs since I rarely go here unless I want a snack or dessert but I guess I have nothing better to write atm and I want to share an incident with the fellow Yelpers
On April 11, 2019 during lunchtime a vagrant was loitering around in the restaurant mumbling something unintelligibly which i couldn't tell. If he had only kept it to himself and left people alone that would have been more acceptable, for a joint like McDs. However after a while he started to pick on some high school students who were eating lunch. They had been quiet before this happened so I suppose it was totally random - he was only picking on someone who appeared "weak". The bum walked to them and put his empty soda cup on one of the students head! It really shocked me! Good thing some other customers and a TTC employee came to intervened and kicked the bum out. The TTC employee later walked to the student and said don't ever let anyone do that to you.
I guess incidents like this happen every day across the city but having witnessed this I would stay away from this McDs in general. Also I was a little disappointed since the manager was not the one who stepped in for this incident.
As for the food and service:
Food: it's pretty much the same like other McDs. Just don't order their smoothie - it gave me the runs recently, which never happened before.
Service: hard to comment due to the high turnover yet i do find the staff less friendly than when I moved into this area 3 years ago. But it's only a McDs so I don't expect much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Trevor T.Montreal, QC15675130Jan 2, 2018
I rarely ever go to McDonalds, and this location may have scared me off for good. I just came for some fries because I had to satisfy my craving. The front staff were screaming orders at each other, and I could feel the tension in the kitchen. The manager didn't seem to care how her staff was behaving, and I left immediately after picking up my fries.
I will never return to this McDonalds location.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - James A.Mississauga, ON4324May 15, 2019
This McDonalds is always super busy, so there is rarely anywhere to sit. I ordered on my phone, and the lineup was so long that even the mobile order queue was too big to fit on the TV! It took fairly long for my order to arrive.

I reeeally don't like this location but it's so close to me that I still come here.
Why don't I like it? No all-day breakfast. Self-order kiosks are positioned badly so you'll either be waiting a while during rush hours or pushed up against someone else using the one behind you. Store is laid out badly so you have no idea where the line to order starts and who's in line vs. who's just waiting to pick up an order. Hordes of old people come in, buy 4 drinks and 2 sandwiches between like 8 people, and take up multiple large tables for like half an hour. (Management does nothing, of course. I frequently see the manager cordially pat these people on the back and yak about their friend who just turned 90.)
Terrible at custom orders. Ask for a sauce on the side and there's a 50% chance they'll get it wrong. Not maintained well - trash is all over, kiosks are frequently out of paper, bins are overflowing, trays are piled high. Terrible at prioritizing orders - I've waited 10 minutes for 2 sandwiches and a coffee while other people who ordered after picked up massive to-go orders for their families.
Tables, especially tables that seat more than 2, are few and far between. Get rid of the stupid barstools that nobody likes and put in more tables! Wi-fi works so badly I've given up on it. I'd rather use my data and actually be able to access the Internet.
Pluses? It's 24 hours. They are competent at preparing simple orders. The location. Nothing else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
