A really cute bakery with quality drinks and pastries.
I got a few pastries to go and an orange iced tea while my husband got an Americano.
They were very polite and fairly quick.
Everything was really fresh and would love to come back here when in the area!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 4, 2024
Korean baked goods and drinks. They have many non-coffee options to suit their hours as they are open until past 10pm, and walking traffic in the area is always busy. Self-serve structure where you order at the register, grab a pager, and pick up your food at the counter when your pager rings.
The Injoelmi latte was most popular in online reviews so I had to try it! It has a very nutty flavour and was a great way to top off the night as it does not contain coffee. Not particularly sweet. The crumble pie and many of their pastries feature a chewy texture like mochi. Seating is available on the first floor inside and outdoor, as well as on the second floor. It does get quite warm as the room is small and the biggest table they have seats around 7-10 depending on how close your group is willing to squeeze in.
Great hangout spot, and cozy for a short date. There's a washroom on the second floor as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 3, 2024
Best injeolmi bingsu in the city! The powder was fine dust and had a strong flavour. The ice was finely crushed and melt-blended with the powder. The rice cakes were properly chewy. Overall, an outstanding and easy must-try dish.
Also had the chestnut rice dacquoise which was ok - inner filling could have had a tad more flavour, outer shell could be a tad less chewy. And got the lemon ginger green tea which was refreshing.
There's space on the second floor for dine-in but also saw a lot of people doj g takeout. Service was friendly, quick and helpful. Prices are what prices are these days. Overall, would definitely come back for the injeolmi bingsu!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 23, 2024
This is a modern twist on the classic traditional Korean rice cakes. They also have other pastries as well which have Asian inspired flavours as well.
The rice cakes are well flavoured and I love that they have fillings inside. Also they are just so aesthetically pleasing! The bingsoo in the summer really hits the spot and is a large portion, perfect for sharing.
I will say that the prices are a bit high just under $5 for each rice cake. But great for a once in a while treat. The more traditional fare can be bought nearby at the Korean grocery stores for less.
The space on the first floor is very cramped but they do have additional seating upstairs!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 3, 2023

I am a big fan of rice cakes and this place makes great rice cakes as well as other Korean desserts.
The texture of their rice cakes are very bouncy and fluffy. I tried their original with a honey centre and the strawberry. The strawberry tasted lightly of fresh strawberries as it is mixed into the rice cake batter, however I think with a strawberry jam centre it might be even more delicious. These rice cakes need to be eaten on the day of bc they will lose the bouncy moist texture by the next day. Even if you steam it the next day it won't be as good as the day it was made. The original with the honey centre is my favourite of the two. (Honey white rice cake $3.85, strawberry rice cake $4.25)
I also recommend their Injeolmi Bingsu. Lots and lots of injeolmi powder as well as fresh chewy rice cakes on milky shaved ice is the most delicious summer treat. I will be back to try their red bean Bingsu next time. $15.95
The rice cookie (also with injeolmi) was crispy and fragrant with the flavour of rice and injeolmi and only slightly sweet, which is exactly what I like. $3.95
The last thing I tried was their red bean bun with injeolmi powder on top. Everything they make is very fresh and should not be kept for long. The bun was filled with delicious sweet red bean and topped with injeolmi powder. $5.80
There were so many delicious looking treats that I wanted to try but haven't tried yet so I will definitely be back.
If you want to sit and enjoy there is a backyard patio as well as a couple of seats at the front and 2 small tables inside.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 20241 check-in
This adorable spot near my home is my go-to for Fusion Korean desserts. The variety of sweets and particularly the drinks offer flavors that are hard to come by elsewhere. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but I find the quality and uniqueness justify the cost. Silly me, only recently did I discover there's additional seating upstairs--a fact I wish had been made clearer from the get-go. Despite this oversight, my affection for this cafe hasn't waned. It remains a cherished destination for those special treats that remind me of flavors I'd struggle to find.

Luna Bakery located on Yonge St. near Churchill Ave in North York specializes in Korean traditional desserts, mainly rice cakes! They also have bingsu (shaved ice) as well as coffee/tea available as well. I believe they previously had a store in Markham, however they have relocated to the Willowdale area. The store opened recently and has been a huge hit.
I went by Luna Bakery twice during the Easter long weekend. The store is bright where lots of natural light is able to shine through the windows. It is primarily take out only although there is a table with 2 chairs near the front of the store. The rice cakes are laid out on shelves where you can pick and choose which ones to get.
First time, I visited Sat afternoon where most of their rice cakes were sold out. I did end up visiting a second time on a Monday right when they opened. The store was fairly quiet and the staff were still putting out the freshly made rice cakes for the day. I opted for a brown sugar snow-white rice cake as well as ordered a flat white. The rice cake was actually still warm in it's packaging which was a nice surprise. My coffee was made at a reasonable time and I did sit inside enjoying it for a bit. The bakery uses De Mello coffee beans (a local coffee roaster from Toronto). My flat white tasted great and was made well.
The vibe of the bakery is welcoming and relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly!
Definitely do check out Luna Bakery if you are around the area and are craving for some Korean traditional desserts. Definitely something unique in the neighbourhood!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nov 2, 2023
Cute little coffee shop! The staff is very friendly and efficient. The only downside is that the cafe has limited seating, and it's not the most comfortable. It's geared more towards a takeout concept. The pumpkin cake I had wasn't overly sweet and was moist. The texture was a bit different from a typical cake, more like mochi. The sesame latte was incredibly delicious, and I didn't adjust the sweetness level. I might come back to try their sesame cake.

So excited that Luna Bakery had relocated to a more convenient location!
I first heard about Luna Bakery years ago when I was looking for fresh sikhye (Korean Rice Punch.) Now they have added more to their drinks menu. The sesame latte was extremely fragrant! Pro tip: add a shot of espresso!
Tried the purple rice cookie because I absolutely love purple rice. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect from the cookie but I certainly didn't think it would come with tiny chocolate chips. It has an interesting texture that is hard to describe. Definitely coming back to try the other cookies!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
