About the Business
All plates start with a base of traditional potato & onion pierogi, cooked either crispy or classic. But that's where tradition ends and innovation begins. The pierogi are loaded with an endless choice of toppings, that include smoked brisket, buffalo chicken, wild mushrooms and a variety of cheeses. Classic salads with a unique twist are also an option. Loaded Pierogi is fully licensed (depending on location), offering nine varieties of vodka, cocktails and local craft beers.

This restaurant is located in the food court (same level as the TTC within Union Station.
You can have your pierogies booked or fried. I went for the fried. Note that they have a rotating Deal of the Day option. I had the Double Double which was the DOTD. For $9.99, 5 good sized pierogies covered with lots of bacon, cheese, green onions and comes with sour cream.
Seating is in the food court area (ie not designated ).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 23754Sep 22, 2023
Stumbled upon this while browsing Union Station for something to eat. There were a lot of interesting options from pierogies to loaded wraps, so we thought we'd give this spot a try. First, was the Mushroom and Truffle with fried pierogies. Overall, it was decent. The pierogies were nicely fried and the taste of the mushrooms and white truffle oil certainly came through.
Next was the Godzilla with poutine. While this poutine isn't as on par with other poutine options around, it definitely does the job. You'll get to enjoy the gravy and cheese on some seasoned fries along with that shredded pork and mayo. Oddly enough, I didn't find it too heavy. The amount of gravy isn't as heavy as you might typically find at other poutine spots. To some extent, I actually appreciated that.
Overall, this is a good spot if you want to grab a quick meal if you're looking for something to eat while at Union Station. It's located in the food courts so there's plenty of tables and seating. There wasn't much of a line, but service was relatively quick being ready in about 15 minutes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 114204825Aug 27, 2023
This is quite the little gem here at Union Station. We were just looking for some food because it was getting late, we were getting hungry, and we had not eaten yet. We were not at all in an adventurous kind of mood where we go trying out raved food places. That turned out for the best because we got to try Loaded Pierogi out.
I was first a little overwhelmed with the menu and how to order, but it got clearer later on.
With all the different protein options available to pair with the variety of meal bases (pierogi, poutine, salad, etc.), there are countless combinations and reasons to come back. What we got to sample was the Bang Bang Cauliflower with a pierogi base and The Taj (some Indian style chicken bbq) with a poutine base. I love the fusion of all the different tastes and flavors and how it all comes perfectly prepared together in a dish.
It was also worth noting that there are meals that go on daily specials. We got to try the Bang Bang Cauliflower at a lower than regular price during that Saturday evening when we dined there.
The only bad part I can bring up is perhaps the long wait time. It was quite a wait after placing the order. There was a queue of people waiting to place orders, as well as customers who have already placed orders waiting to hear their number called. On the bright side, you can get some affirmation on which food concessionaires are deserving of your food money. Comparing between the different food vendors, one can see that Loaded Pierogi is that much more busy than the rest.
Lastly, the whole pre-dining ordeal is made better with the fine service provided by the lady over the counter. She was very nice, patient, and helpful through the whole thing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 15, 2023
This was an interesting spot - in theory I liked the idea of a loaded pierogi bowl, but the individual components were just not great. I tried the buffalo chicken bowl - the chicken tasted like it was microwaved, the pierogis on their own were pretty bland, and the whole thing was basically masked by the sauce. The prices are reasonable but the food itself was pretty meh. I'd maybe try a different dish to see if I just ordered the wrong thing, but I certainly wouldn't come back for something of the same quality.

We got the baba's classic and we liked it a lot. The onions were nice and caramelized. The cheese on top also made it yummy. The staff was incredibly nice. They asked us how spicy we wanted the sauce we asked for and gave us the spiciest one. I want to come back and try the mushroom and truffle pierogi.

I ordered the smoky pig roast at there
Union location and if it wasn't for the
excellent and very knowledgeable front staff worker names Joan' suggestion then I wouldn't have fell in love in with this
new favorite dish and there loaded
deep fried cheesecake is absolutely
work to go for those long trips on the trains.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 26, 2018First to Review
I had heard good things about this place, so when the new food concourse opened up at Union Station, I gave it a try.
Loaded Pierogi, in a nutshell, is the Smokes Poutine of pierogies. They serve pierogies with your choice of toppings.
My choice (I forget the name, but it had different meats, including a chorizo sausage) set me back $17 tax-in (yeesh, I can get several bags of pierogies for $17). I tried the "classic", which meant half my pierogies were boiled and half were fried. First off, I'd recommend going with fried, as the boiled pierogies tasted no better than the ones you'd get in a grocery store's frozen aisle. The fried ones, however, were cooked well which made them stand out.
Overall, while the toppings were good and the concept was interesting, I don't see myself going back. It's far too expensive considering I can walk across the pond to St. Lawrence Market for authentic pierogies at a fraction of the price. Plus, I found the meal to be a little overwhelming - pierogies are heavy enough, I don't think they need to be weighed down with a plethora of toppings.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I ordered the Bacon, Saurkraut and "Oh Yeah" Bacon deep fried pierogi during ritual $1 eatweeks.
This loaded pierogi comes with "two types of crispy bacon, center cut & double smoked lardons with house made sauerkraut, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream & green onions".
This location is at the union station food court at one of the corners. Not difficult to find. Good that the food was waiting for me when I got there.
For $14, this is a bit expensive and not something that I would frequently eat. The portion is alright because 8 pieces don't seem a lot but it's potato so it fills you up. I'm glad I picked deep fried rather than the boiled/steamed version, though I thought the deep fried ones would be more crispy. When I opened the box I almost thought they gave me non deep fried ones because it's not golden brown, it's quite pale.
Definitely it's the choice of the toppings that make/break this dish.
But with cheese and bacon and potato, you can't really go wrong. The saurkraut help to offset the heaviness of everything else.
If it's cheaper, probably I'll eat more often.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This was my first visit to Loaded Pierogi and I did not expect the brilliant service I received. I have a restricted sodium diet and the server and chef both worked together to make me a meal I could eat without worrying. The chef even calculated the mg of sodium which has never happened before. I will definitely visit again.

I tried this spot while visiting Toronto with some girlfriends, and I am so glad that I did. I can't speak to all of the menu items, but I got the butter chicken pierogis, and they were divine. I opted to have the pierogis boiled, and I appreciated that they gave some sour cream on the side instead of adding it to the hot pierogis. The butter chicken wasn't authentic, but it was tasty. The pierogis were flavorful and a good portion. Overall, delicious choice.
