Lantern House Asian Bistro

Owner says that miso salmon and pad thai are vegan. One has fish, and the other has egg, which means neither one is vegan. Didn't try because didn't want to risk it.

Asian food in this area is pretty bad. This place is definitely better than average. Restaurant is clean, food was hot, flavor was blandish though. Service is quick. Restaurant feels like eating in a strip mall or a diner though.

This place has moved since I ordered from them. The food was ok back then. But now the new location offers so much more. Give it a try and let me know

Great little asian restaurant. Not very large but we stopped here for lunch and managed a table. Service was super. Very friendly and efficient. They have a large menu selection and I stayed with lunch fare which included soup. Food was superb and plentiful. Prices were really good too. Head here for a nice meal and clean crisp atmosphere

I have no idea how the food is so this is purely annoyance. We went at 8 seeing the posted close was 9. I get it it's slow . Then change the information online . Don't make me search you out only to be turned away . I also think it was a last minute decision to close . The door was unlocked two workers were sitting there chatting no clean up was in progress . She saw us pull up and walk up to the hostess stand / register . Had she waved us off I wouldn't have gotten out in the freezing cold .

Do yourself a favor and eat here! Xing and family are amazing. I have never had anything bad here but my personal favorites are Honey shrimp and Honey Chicken. Honestly if you pass this up you will really miss out on a delightful dining experience.

Now, that may seem like a caveat (asian in Hoosierland?), but having eaten in great cities known for Chinese cuisine, Lantern House holds its own.
It is bistro style, and not traditional. Think PF Changs for the type of dishes they serve, but that's where the similarity stops. The quality of food served at Lantern House is vastly superior to Changs! Having been obligated to eat at the chain restaurant the same week we ate at Lantern House, we could not get over the contrast.
You can tell that Lantern House is made to order of fresh ingredients. Similar restaurants take like microwave meals compared to LH.
The location is a strip mall, and the interior is simple. The service is always nice and often the (young) owner will be by your table at some time during the meal.
You owe it to yourself to drop by and enjoy delicious asian food in the heartland of America.

I was looking through some my reviews and noticed I never wrote a review for this location.

My Lady and I had moved into the area and were new out this way, and wanted to look for an Asian style establishment to order from so we have this a try after we had bad experiences with other locations, and to this day we still feel this place is better than other establishments.

So we ordered the following:
1 Crispy Green Beans
1 Kung Pao Shrimp (substitute for Lo Mein)
1 spicy Salmon Roll
1 Great Chocolate Cake
1 Ginger Chicken (substitute for Lo Mein)
1 Shrimp Dumplings
1 Wonton Soup
1 Hokkien Street Noodles

Of Course this looks like a big mean, and yes the portion sizes are in our opinion awesome like back home, but we did share these meals with one another.

As far as quality, we can tell this establishment uses fresh ingredients, there is flavor and quality with their dishes. In time we will come back and other other items.

Crab Rangoon, Pad Thai, Crispy Honey Chicken.

This is the best kept secret in Anderson, Pendleton. All the dishes were prepared to order and the ingredients fresh. Presentation was tasteful though not elaborate. Staff served us well. The serving sizes were spot on. Please try this restaurant.

You have to try Lantern House Asian Bistro if you're looking for the gambit of Asian food. the only thing that is not Asian in this place is the chocolate torte, at the end of your feast! We started with the typical Egg Drop soup and we also ordered a Dim Sum.
I ordered another tray of the Dim Sum right away!
After our appetizers, the ravishing Anna ordered the spicy chicken, and I had sliced beef in a mushroom sauce with a lovely and hearty amount of sliced mushrooms mixed in. We had this amazingly delicious dinner and both of us became quite aware that this place is very romantic too!

In fact this restaurant is so beautifully done and it's done with such romantic feelings, that you will be sure to find on your own. We recommend this place to you if it's your first date or anniversary! This restaurant will bring you together! Just remember the number one thing you have to do at the end of your meal is to order Four Layer Chocolate cake for dessert. That alone will blow your mind.
This is a great restaurant, you get what you pay for here. The kindness you show to the restaurants staff, is returned to you 100%. This new restaurant is my favorite Asian restaurant in this town! They have naturally good Chinese types of food. They also have Pad Thai which is shocking! You couldn't ask for a better evening!
So, let yourself go and enjoy the evening at the best restaurant in town!
