Had a great 1-hour electrolysis session at this place. The lady was super sweet, chatted with me during the treatment and did she a great job with electrolysis. The price was also very reasonable for Toronto (58.50$/hour). I noticed that she has an Apilus electrolysis machine, which is a really high-quality brand. Not many people in Toronto/Ontario do electrolysis with this machine (as opposed to Quebec where many practitioners use Apilus), most electrologists I've seen use other brands so I was happy when I entered in the cabin and saw the Apilus machine. The salon is at the back of a hair salon. You can either drive there (free parking) on take public transit (subway + a short bus ride). I'll be back.

Tip: it's best to text her to make an appointment.

I've been having weekly electrolysis sessions with Arzina for a few months, the results are great, the cost is fair and she's a lovely woman to talk to, educating me about my skin or just chatting about life.

Electrologists in Toronto are hard to come by and Arzina is great, couldn't recommend he so enough!

Arzina is a true artist! I came in to get my eyelashes done as I have none, and I left with a beautiful, full set that look like they've always been mine. She's very attentive to detail, makes sure you get the lashes suited for you and does all this while providing a very warm and welcoming environment. Especially as this was my first time getting them done she assured me that she was putting on what was best for me and used lashes that worked with my real lashes. This is definitely a place I reccommend and I am happy to say that I will be going back not just for lashes, but for skin care as well.

I recently moved into the area so I wanted to try my luck to see if I can find a go-to spa in the neighbourhood for facials, lashes, etc. I purchased a groupon for lashes extension with 1 fill.

Pros: Clean. Arzina is the sole proprietor so you know she'll be working on you. She has many years of experience.
Cons: Located in the back of the hair salon. You'll be able to hear the people in front talking. Arzina will answer calls or texts when she's working on you.

Facial: The facial was alright. She does seem very knowledgeable about facials/skin types etc and was able to extract a lot of my blackheads. However, I wish she was more tactful in describing the state of my skin as she said I needed to learn to wash my face properly.

Lashes: The first set was okay; the second set was awful! I've had my fair share of lash extensions and while Arzina's look great upon completion, I felt they completely fell apart a few days after I got home.
I had two main issues: 1) The synthetic lash would be attached to 2-3 of my natural lashes, resulting in my lashes falling out in clumps. 2) The lashes are very hard to comb with the lash brush so they don't look very natural and appear quite messy. I believe they were hard to comb and handle because the lashes didn't follow the natural curl of my own lashes. Perhaps these lashes were too thick for my own fine lashes.

While I'm sure Arzina may be able to do a fantastic job for some who like a specific look, she is not the lash specialist for me =( I'll be making an appointment to save my remaining lashes.

Maybe I'll stick to facials and try a mani/pedi next time.

If you're looking to get pampered in a posh spa-like environment, this may not be the place for you. However, if you're looking for great skin care at an affordable price, you found it. The esthetician is very knowledgeable and seems to genuinely want to help with any concerns you may have. This is the type of place where you quickly become a regular and appointments feel like you're visiting a friend.

Not a spa experience. Located at the back of a hair salon, constant noise, no low lighting or scented candles, no robe or cover up, garbage beside your head. 20% mark up if using Way Spa gift certificate - though no sign posted or anything on website that advises you. And priced like 'real' spas.

I have never been to someone so focused, knowledgeable, and gentle! I pretty much gave up on estheticians, but stumbled upon her groupon and of course bought it.

I've been back twice since, and will honestly never seek treatment elsewhere. I've been to a handful of pricier spas downtown, and they're worthless in my opinion.

This spot is a gem tucked into a quiet part of Scarborough, and it doesn't get better. She's really really good at what she does.

Will be seeing her shortly for micro needling to rid my acne scars for good.

      First to Review

I happened upon this tiny place a few months ago on my quest to find the best eyelash extension experts in the city. It's particularly hard to find reputable estheticians in the east end - most lash spas tend to be downtown, uptown, etc.

      First Impressions:
La Belle Femme is located in a not-so-glam strip plaza in Scarborough (right beside a No Frills...so if you need some groceries on your way out, you're in luck), and is actually based inside of another storefront, Moretti's Hair Place. This confused me at first, because the sign for La Belle Femme is not immediately obvious, and you have to pretty much go all the way into Moretti's first.

La Belle Femme is a one-woman operation (from what I saw), manned by the assertive and knowledgeable Arzina. She seemed a tiny bit disorganized when I first came in for my appointment (I was a few minutes early, but I had to wait a bit longer for her to get set up) but that was hardly an issue. I called ahead to book my appointment, and Arzina was very accomodating, although I had to call twice before I got an appointment properly set up.

      The Procedure:
Arzina was good: she cleaned my lashes before beginning, and made sure to explain what she was going to do before application. The procedure was fairly quick, painless, and my lashes looked great. She normally charges about $100 for a full set (1 hr procedure), and fill-ins range from $40-60, which is quite reasonable, in my experience. I was unsure as to how many lashes she exactly applied, as she mentioned that she discusses the 'look' the client is going for first, and then bases the number of lashes on that, instead of having a pre-set number of lashes for application. It seems to be about the same price regardless, but I would clarify the price with her before you begin just so you know exactly what you are paying for. I didn't require a particularly dramatic look, so that may be why my procedure fell into the typical price categoy. On her brochure, however, it does state $100 for a 1 hour lash session, and does not mention the number of lashes per eye.

Arzina is chatty, friendly, and knows what she's doing. She offers a number of other services, including waxing, massage, etc - none of which I've tried myself.

My only minor complaint was that she received a business call in the middle of my session and ended up being on the phone for a while during my application. I'm not brutally picky so I didn't really care that day -- but had I been on a stricter schedule, I would have had more of an issue with the delay to my service. And, of course, it is a tad bit inconsiderate, although she did apologize for the disruption.

Overall - if you're in the east end of the city and trying to find a convenient, affordable place to get your lashes (and maybe other beauty services) done, La Belle Femme is worth a try.

Total waste of my time and money.

I bought a 3-facial with one microdermabrasion package via Groupon.
On my first session, I already knew that I wouldn't want to go back but I felt bad for the money that I already spent. So I thought I'll just go back for the second session, get the microdermabrasion that I already paid for and not to come back for the third and just cut my losses.

I've been to many other spas ... La Belle Femme is NOT a true spa experience. You'll be in a tiny little room, noisy (you will hear all the noises coming from the hair salon) and even the esthetician does not posses a very spa-like etiquette (talks on the phone while working on you, leaves you all alone for a very long time, very tactless in assessing your skin) not a very pleasant experience.

And she hardly did anything on me...When I go to other spas (the real spas), I'm given a nice robe to wear, soothing music, esthetician with pleasant spa-voice and manner, and they actually do work on you. Here at La Belle Femme, all I got was few seconds of facial massage, if you can call it that. She'd apply one type of cream on your face, then leaves you for a very long time. Comes back, removes the cream on your face, applies another, then leaves you again for yet another uncomfortable long time. While you're waiting there with your eyes closed, you will hear her making all kinds of noises, I think she was cleaning the room - I heard vacuuming, things being moved around, drawers loudly opening and closing. This is not relaxing at all. I wish I didn't come back for the second time but I wanted to at least get my microdermabrasion - but even that was so bad. She's so heavy handed. I was left with visible scratches on my face. I really felt so bad when I saw my face in the mirror and saw those horrible scratches.

I will never ever again go back to this place. I get much better facial treatments elsewhere for even less the price!

Save your money. Save your time. Save your face!

All I can say is, "she is bad." Room is not clean. She's constantly answering her cell, and gives you a facial without first cleaning your face, no steam, no extractions. That by definition is not a facial. Skip this one.
