      Don't waste your money !!
      Stay away!!!
Worst Chinese food in Ontario not a word of a lie!
There was maybe a piece of celery in the chow mein chicken it was all mush they put the crispy noodles which usually are in a bag and you apply it later if you like on the food we got it home 40 minutes later and it was a mush the whole chow mein was a mush it didn't even look like chow mein normally you get big chunks of green peppers celery corn mushrooms, all they got is much and mushrooms in this.
The ribs were so dry you couldn't even taste it for sandpaper. That's what it tastes like dry old cardboard sandpaper.
The rice wasn't any better it was worse the chicken was burnt there was a burnt taste all through the rice. Have a look at the egg roll the egg roll was so burnt you couldn't eat that either it was like they left it sitting in a vat of oil then when somebody came to order something they turned it on put it back in on Friday and it soaked up all of the oil and burnt. Please please do not waste your money there's a lot of beautiful places to eat and picked in this is not one I'm sorry to say my husband and I do not live in Picton we went for a drive we thought it would be nice to stop and have some Chinese food we were very very disappointed!!

A gentleman come in behind us and asked if he could speak with the owner she went over and had a little chat with him as he pulled her to the side my husband overheard this gentleman telling the owner that it was the worst Chinese food he had ever had. I mentioned to my husband why I hadn't you said anything before this? But you know we give everything the benefit of the doubt one person likes one thing and one person doesn't but I'll tell you there wasn't one dish in here that we liked it all we got dinner for three so my husband could have some lunch next day at work it got thrown out waste of money beware stay away!!

It's a joke between my husband and I to be the first to spot THE Chinese restaurant in every small town we visit.

Every small town has one and in its name has a word like: "Dragon" or "Golden" or "Fortune" or "Lucky" or "Panda" or something along those lines. (Note: You should know that both my husband and I are Asian-Canadians...we certainly aren't making fun at these places, it's just a weird thing that some couples do. And don't lie. If you are attached, you KNOW you do something like that too!)

And so, we've been spending a lot of time in Prince Edward County in Ontario, specifically, near Picton. Picton's Chinese restaurant at 155 Main Street is called "Golden Inn Restaurant". Tonight, we decided to abandon the BBQ for one night and splurge on a dinner "in town." Of course, the first restaurant for us to try as a family would be the Chinese restaurant. Like all Asian people, we needed a noodle and rice fix. (If you're Asian, you understand)

Jeremy and I didn't expect a $2.00/plate dim sum joint, nor did we expect Chinese exotica on the menu. (I mean things like chicken feet, cow tongue and tripe) I didn't think dishes with those ingredients could possibly be popular in a small town where the Main Street is only 3 blocks long.

The place is exactly how I pictured it: Chinese lanterns, oversized fans on the wall, a painting of the Great Wall of China and the cherry on top? Paper placemats with the Chinese Zodiac! (Awesome!) By the way, there were no chopsticks at the table, nor did we even ask for any. Totally Old School and Retro. Do you kind of picture this place now?

Jeremy and I had craved fried chicken balls, fried shrimp, sweet and sour sauce, noodles and rice and that craving certainly got fulfilled at Golden Inn. Look, for my family, it's the McDonald's of Chinese Food and it was perfect. The menus told the story of how the Liang family has owned, managed and not changed the décor of the place since 1978. I'm sure the lovely waitress who served us was a daughter, or granddaughter. The other patrons were clearly regulars. It was like I was in a 1970s film. And I loved it.

We ordered the crispy shrimp and chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce on the side. I think my kid ate about 7 of each. The Cantonese chow Mein and the garlic beef were both made from the same black bean sauce, but that's only because my husband and I think of ourselves as Chinese food experts (I'm sure we're far from it). Both dishes were tasty, yet sort of tasted the same. Lemon chicken with lemon sauce on the side - also very good. (Let's face it, you really can't go wrong with anything that's deep fried)

Jeremy and I couldn't tell if Mr. & Mrs. Liang hand-breaded the chicken or shrimp, but it didn't matter, everything was freshly fried and yummy. No microwaved warm-up dishes here. After studying the menu, we decided that they were reasonably priced and you get a good portion.

We craved it. We got it. Will we go back? Sure. Everyone needs chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce every once in a while, right?

My new favourite place for tasty and quick Chinese takeout! With the sweet mom and pop ambience, and always lovely customer service they have me coming back for more of their delicious wonton soup which is so good I have to order an extra to save for later.

I have always been a Chinese takeout junkie, but never had been a fan of chicken balls, they were always too greasy from other restaurants. I finally found a spot where I crave the chicken balls as much as the chow mein!

You can eat without feeling gross as it seems they use fairly fresh oil during the earlier dinner hours that we had ordered for, haven't tried later in the evening but I'm sure it would be equally delicious.

Between the service, food, value for product this is definitely a new favourite for a humble little takeout place!

Decent pseudo-Chinese restaurant complete with chicken balls. Food is served with folk and knife. The egg drop soup hit the mark with a generous amount of sesame oil and green onions to break the overload of pizza and pasta we've been having. However the hot and sour soup is off the mark with way to much starch and water chestnuts. There is a lack of traditional ingredients like yellow lily, wood ear, etc. the same sauce is used for all their stir fry which is very delicious. Ingredient wise a lot of water chestnuts baby corn and broccoli which is the pillars of North American "Chinese" food. Overall friendly restaurant.

This has to be the worst Chinese Restaurant I've ever tasted! I don't know what the rest thinks but how can you screw up fried chicken wings and cantonese chow mein which was soaked in soya sauce??!! The fried chicken wings had thick batter which I was hard had to pull off and the chicken was from yesterday, not fresh! Using soy sauce and sugar to make everything tasty is now how you run a Chinese restaurant! Horrible never again!

If you are looking for half decent Chinese food in Picton, please do not spend your hard earned money here. Everything is "brown" (too much soy sauce) and tastes the same. The only edible thing on the menu was the spring rolls (most probably bought frozen and cook on site) and the fortune cookies. Washrooms are filthy, and not a place to take young children. Surprised it passed the health inspection.

If you're looking for a small town "old school" Chinese restaurant, this is the place to go. Very decent food and as well as nice owners!
