This was my first visit to Ginger. I have had it on the list for awhile, but I don't get out much. Today I had an afternoon to kill while I waited on some car repairs, so I walked over there.
The menu offered some typical Asian favorites, a Mongolian grill and a sushi bar. I like raw sushi, but to me, it's a date thing. I went with the (cooked) tempura salmon sushi roll and the ginger soup, which was part of the sushi lunch special: sushi and a side. The sushi was fantastic! The tempura salmon was amazing on its own, and I would definitely buy that anytime. I thought about getting another roll to go. The carrot ginger soup was great as well...just spicy enough.
The atmosphere was modern and not noisy, but there were few people there in the mid-afternoon when I was there. I wish there were more booths by windows, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Jacob, my server, was so helpful and patient with all my newbie questions. I will definitely be going again soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roxanna F.Gering, United States3616Mar 16, 2024
Got the Mongolian grill, was amazing. There were some different offerings than other similar places, which I appreciate.

Not really all that impressed. Service wasn't great and the food was typical of what you would find at any Asian and sushi restaurant. Oh, and let me tell you about the Mongolian grill - it is a carbon copy of Hu-Hot!

The server was great! The food, meh. I was allergic to the first thing I tried to order (the server checked for me), so I ended up with sushi. My side salad was great! I am a very light eater, but I had to eat 1/2 a sandwich at home after I finished my meal (the 2 roll combo). The meat was non-existent in my two rolls (both shrimp). I must have been allergic to one of the sauces, since I'm feeling a slight reaction tonight. Normally a little sauce on my sushi roll wouldn't be a real issue, but the roll was literally swimming in it. Both rolls together were about the same amount of food as one roll at our usual restaurant (and not as much meat). My husband enjoyed the Mongolian grill, but I was hesitant to try that without checking the ingredients in the sauces. It did not look as good as another grill in town, and that is expecting too much from a server, though. He had to wait a long time for someone to come out and cook his food. Everything is an upcharge, even a quick pan-fry on the dumplings we ordered.

You know how most Asian food places are little three table hole in the wall places in strip malls?... Well they are in LA anyway, we were visiting Nebraska for a wedding and went here for dinner and it was great good sized menu and the Mongolian grill which I had was well worth it. Still not sure how the cooks remember who's plate is who's some sort of witchcraft I suspect. Service is friendly and quick, and going back to my first comment this is a good sized place with plenty of parking.

A friend of mine had a groupon here and so we decided to go check it out. It took a little while for someone to come to the front and show us to a table. Once the host arrived we were seated and our server came right over. She was really excellent. Very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about gluten free menu options, and took initiative to ensure all components on the plate were gf and safe for my allergy requirements.
They have quite a few gf options which made it really hard to choose and ultimately lead to me eating way more than necessary! They have gf noodles for their Mongolian grill, which is a must try for next time, sushi and rolls, and even gf wings. I wish I had a picture of the wings but um.. I kinda devoured them before taking pictures. The edamame, avocado and Philadelphia rolls were all good too. They have gf soy sauce which is always appreciated. My friend really enjoyed her tower of tempura.
Price is really affordable, especially during happy hour as many rolls were only 5.00. Food came out quickly and portions were great. I'll most certainly be back, with pants with an elastic waist.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Brian C.Lincoln, United States08Feb 8, 2020

I've been to Ginger lots of times with my kids. As a single mom going to a restaurant can be very stressful, but at Ginger my dining experience is never stressful. I really love sushi and at Ginger, with them having both the option of sushi and a Mongolian grill I can feed my small children the grill while I wait for the rest of my food to finish! The staff has always been very helpful and kind. The decor in the dining area is very family friendly.
The decor also makes for a nice date night restaurant by the bar, the lighting is darker by the bar which can make for a romantic setting!
I highly recommend Ginger for all types of a occasions!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ling H.Leonia, United States737143Oct 13, 2018
It is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. They offer Mongolian grill and sushi rolls ,and the flavor of these food are suitable for native people. We ordered Mongolian grill, seaweed salad and miso salmon dish.To be honest, seaweed salad is at Ginger as same as in Japan. But miso salmon dish is too sweet, not real Japanese cooking style. The service is very good, and the price is also reasonable. We will go there again,if we want to eat Japanese food.

Came for dinner trying to break my string of bad restaurant experiences. Boy I am surely happy we did. We were pleasantly greeted and seated right away. Justin was our server. He was absolutely wonderful. Never felt rushed or ignored. We started with some appetizers, Avocado Egg rolls, Tuna Poke and Sticky Korean Ribs. It was all delicious. We shared a Pink Lady Roll and added Cilantro in the Roll. I cannot express how delicious, fresh and fabulous the whole dinner experience was. I certainly encourage all to enjoy in a delightful meal. I failed to mention, they also have a Mongolian Grill. We will be back to keep trying more items off the menu.
