Q:
Do they have kids' pricing, or is it one price for all?
A:
It's one price for all but that's ok, just share whatever you order for yourself with your child. That's what I did with my toddler and it was enough food.

Is this place nut free friendly? I'm allergic to nuts and sesame seeds.
A:
Yes I can tell them to don't cook with oils that have nuts and u can tell them no sesame

Came with a huge party . (20+)
I just wanted to say , ask for MICHAEL as a server. He went above & beyond. The other people who tried assisting Michael would ask us if we needed anything & would not bring it. At one point they just brought a lot of extra stuff at the end.
Keep up the great work & get greatly tipped. Stay great dude . You made the experience awesomeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Summer L.Canyon Crest, Riverside, United States0716May 9, 2024
My partner and I came here for the first time around two years ago and absolutely loved the vibes so much that this was the only place we would want to go for Korean BBQ.
BUT... this is not true anymore.
Over the past 2 years, we have realized that the service here was really only decent the very first time we came. We have come here on different days of the week, including weekdays and somehow the service always takes way too long (especially considering that almost all of the food comes out raw and you cook it YOURSELF). We are really disappointed because the last time we came here (yesterday--a Wednesday) the service was so slow that we spent more time waiting for the food than we did cooking and eating it. Our server also was hardly at the table and, in fact, a server for a different section was helping us more than our server. Although the food itself is really really good, it takes way to long for food that isn't cooked... Maybe we just have bad luck and have only gone in on understaffed days but we are definitely super disappointed overall and will, unfortunately be looking for a different place to eat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pangolla J.Los Angeles, United States03Apr 10, 2024
My friends and I were returning home from an AirBNB trip and decided to eat here early in the morning. We waited outside a bit because we came before they had even opened. Upon opening, we were seated. Since we were a large party, we had two grills to cook for the day and while the people sitting at the other grill were doing fine, we started with a dirty grill as well as my plate being dirty. Asked for them to exchange them both and was given another dirty plate.
Food was disappointing. Rice was cooked with too much water so it was more of a porridge consistency. Service was slow and our side often being neglected. But there was almost no one else eating inside at the time, maybe just two other customers. Service was even inconsistent within our own party. It is evident that when ordering meat that the more meat ordered, the quality diminishes. It's sad when the starting quality is just okay and it leading to low quality bad cuts of meat. Ate until full but often wondered if it was even worth it throughout the meal.
Would suggest coming with good company as that is the only way to help salvage choosing this restaurant to eat at.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tania B.Riverside, United States7883Apr 1, 2024
My husband and I are frequent K-BBQ diners and I have to say that this restaurant was by far the worst location we have ever visited.
The food was good, but the service was absolutely terrible. We asked our server for hot sauce 5x and never got it. We were told the kitchen ran out of cups so we had to wait over 30 minutes for a refill on sprite.
The majority of our time was spent waiting. Waiting without food infront of us, waiting around 15 minutes between us asking for more meats and meats being brought out.
Just like other reviewers, we will definitely not be returning to this location.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nae G.Rancho Cucamonga, United States63146218May 17, 2024Updated review
Food here was really good! But what made the experience even better was the 2 servers we had JOSH and ADHAM, they were FANTASTIC! We went on a busy Friday night they had a lot of tables but JOSH and ADHAM made us feel like we were the only customers in the restaurant! They were very attentive, nice, kind, always checked on us! I used to come to Gen all the time but stopped coming for a while, but I am glad we decided to come tonight, these two young men made this a very good experience! Thank you JOSH and ADHAM!
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 9, 2021Previous reviewWent here tonight with a few friends- they told us they wait time was an hour and a half but we only ended up waiting about 30 minutes. The service was great THANKS TO JESUS. Jesus wasn't our server but he kept having to assist us because our server didn't really come much! Jesus told us our server had to take care of a large section, so he was helping him. At the end of our meal though, our initial server swiped out card 4 times and then someone else kept swiping it which caused our bank to put a fraud hold and unfortunately our bank was closed so we gotta call in the morning.
The only thing that was shocking to me was the sign at the front entrance, it was very rude and offensive and I'm surprised a business would allow this sign to be posted!
I found it very rude and unprofessional for a business, especially to mention a mental illness as a joke! This was done in very poor taste and the manager who allowed this needs to be reprimanded! Also the term "Karen" is used as an insult to Caucasian women who complain, yet again this sign is wrong on so many levels and needs to be removed! I don't think I will eat here again.
I would give 5 for Jesus because his service was exceptional, but the sign left a bad fast in my mouth so I'm leaving one star, sorry Jesus Oct 2, 2016Previous reviewI used to come here at least twice a week , the service used to be GREATTTTTT.. now it's terrible, the last 3 times I've been here it's been TERRIBLE!!! Tables/utensils, grills are not very clean, staff is not the nicest, long wait times... I don't think I will be going back.
The management team needs to do better. Vi( think that's how it's spelled) is the only one there that is genuinely nice!!Feb 13, 2016Previous reviewOK, so if I would of left this review the first few times I went they would of got 5 starts, but I think they are getting lazy. The grills always have old food on them, as if they are not being cleaned properly, the servers don't check on you enough to see if you need more meat or a grill change. It;s sad because I used to go here often when they first opened and the service was great. It's going downhill....

Just get the Korean bbq from Trader Joe's.
Poor service and poor food.
Portions are tiny and food isn't seasoned. The "spicy" sauce is weak at best. I appreciate the tortilla option but the meat isn't seasoned enough for a tortilla to be added.
The grill doesn't get hot enough to sear the meat so it's more like steamed meat.
Area looks impressive but leave very little to be desired. Served a huge portion of rice because that's what you're getting filled on. Kimchi portion is tiny. All other Gen Korean BBQs have good portions and offer the potato salad. This location offers the bare minimum and doesn't provide a ounce of customer service,
Not worth the money.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 14, 2024
LITERALLY THE WORST GEN I HAVE EVER BEEN TO, actually the worst kbbq I have ever had. The were literally out of almost all beef options. Mind you they didn't tell us this. We sat down, there were only 2 sides on the table
No grill. No one came to serve us, about 10-12 mins later someone came, we ordered food and only 1 plate of meat came out, then when I would ask the server about the rest she would say "oh babe that's out remember I told u"
No she did not, then I ended up telling her this gen was the worst, she said don't come on Sundays we're out of a lot of things. We actually heard the table behind us complaining to the manager, that manager was complaining about his GM. Seems
Like everyone was passing blame around. Well news for the staff, the customers don't care. This place needs new management.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Alli C.Riverside, United States0101May 17, 2024
Service was terrible. Was seated for 2 hours and was waiting about half the time to have our order taken and to receive our order. They also would not bring half our order every time. In total spent 1 hour sitting waiting with out food and only received half of our order. In the end we didn't even wait for the last items we put in because of how long we had been waiting. Would not return or recommend.

We had read the reviews but still gave it a chance. Unfortunately the meat selection was not great, some of the meat had frost bite and you could see the browning of the meat. The rice paper was soo dry it was crispy. Not sure if they had it sitting next to a grill for too long or it was old and sitting outside, we did not touch it.
The worse part was not even the food but the service. I had asked for water twice and it was never brought over, asked for our bill twice... there was no server around we could have just walked out, but it's not something we do. When a server finally came up he told us that the servers had just rotated out. Normally the wait staff lets you know when there is a change but there was no communication. To wait 30 min just to pay a bill is not right or even to not check in if anyone needs a refill at all.
Place definitely needs some upgrades and maintenance.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
