Marie did my 1st thigh tattoo I'm so in love with it
I Can't thank her Enough she's my go to artist for all my Disney needs

Simple but wonderful,I had Marie sketch up a wedding band for me (due to my profession I can't wear a ring at work) If you look closely you can see the fine detail of the swirls that a lot of others would make look chunky on such a small surface. The Mrs and I are more than happy with the result. Not only is she a skilled artist but she's a rad person.


*** For the healing process she uses a thing called tagaderm which creates another layer of skin essentially until it heals so you don't have to lube up every few hours. Its other use is for burn victims so they can heal. I assume more people use it but this is the first time anyone has used it with me.

I came in to see if someone can re-do a screwed up tattoo that was done at simms 7 yrs ago.
And I'm glad I did, James is a true artist. Not only did he recreate my tattoo he applied skill and some creativity.
He's very personable patient and a cool dude.
Thank you James for ur work, now I don't have to hide my wrist with bangles and such.
I'll definitely be back for some new ink later when I get that itch lol

Nice place! Super clean and sanitary. I got my bellybutton pierced with no infection and am still very satisfied with it.

I give this place 3 stars because the woman at the desk had an attitude. I called at 6 and she said the piercer would be there when I arrived at 7. When I arrived the piercer was not there and the woman at the desk acted like it was my fault even when I reminded her that I called ahead prior. The piercer arrived after about 30-45 minutes.

This review is way overdue but definitely necessary! I had the pleasure of getting a beautiful piece by Marie last year, and without a doubt she's one of the best!
She is a patient perfectionist and detail oriented. She listened to my ideas and the outcome was better than I ever could have imagined. If you are comfortable letting a tattoo artist take the creative reigns, I'd recommend letting her! My tattoo has realistic flowers and fine lines, and in the past year I haven't needed to touch anything up.
(The cherry on top was the fact that Fura is a nice, clean place and the staff seemed very knowledgeable, too.)

5 stars for Marie! I've been getting tattooed by Marie since the start of her career and she is an amazing artist and person to be around. I came in to see her about a month ago after not seeing her for a few years. My experience just seems to get better and better with time. Marie is a sweet, comforting, artist. It isn't the stuck up, semi-awkward tattoo experience that I've had with other artists. She creates such a calm environment. On top of that, her work is beautiful. I got my first black work piece and I was a bit skeptical about how the evenness and texture of my skin would look but it healed beautifully. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Marie is versatile in her art and tattoo style, which is something you don't see much of anymore. I highly recommend anyone, with any tattoo idea give Marie a call.


Also, want to leave a quick shout out to Luna for giving my 14 year old sister a great, true piercing shop experience. She had her first ear lobe piercings done at Claire's (with out my permission) and now I'm sure she will know why it's important to go to a real piercer. Luna was kind and gentle. She explained step by step what was happening and the placement of her second lobe piercing was perfect.

We continue to come to Fura for our all our family piercing needs. Which is basically kids' ears and one adult nose so far. And we've never had a disappointing experience. It's clean, warm and comfortable.

We've always used Mel, but I haven't heard anything bad about any of the other artists either.

Fura remains one of my favorite Castro Valley small businesses!

I just got my second tattoo by Kiki a couple of weeks ago and I love it! I've received multiple compliments on both of my prices by her, and couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish. Kiki is a doll and I cannot recommend her enough!

It has always been very apparent to me that the staff at Fura takes the utmost pride in providing thorough, clean and up to standard work both in the tattoo and piercing department. Body modification is an art that hold a lot of weight, and these artists work with nothing but integrity and true love for their work.

It has come to my attention that there is one person who decided that she had a negative experience with Marie and has since made it her mission to bring both Marie and the shop down. I find this to be truly unfortunate, as I know multiple people who have gotten work done by Marie, who does beautiful work.

If you have been to Fura, then you are already familiar with the top notch standards at which this shop and its artists operate. If you have not yet been to Fura, I urge you to please continue reading and see the countless 5 star reviews from customers that trump the few 1 stars left by this girl and her family's vendetta. While I do not know her exact story, please consider that there are two sides to every coin.

Fura is the only place i come to for piercings.
And every piercer throughout the years has been very polite/professional, clean and knowledgeable about their job.

I recently came in to get my bridge pierced and Luna was my piercer. I appreciate that she took her time, and had me look in the mirror a few times before she actually pierced me. I was so relaxed and at ease i almost fell asleep lol and come time to actually get pierced it was enjoyable because she took her time and was super gentle. I LOVE my bridge! Thank you, Luna!

A couple weeks later i came in for my tattoo appointment with Kiki. Let me start off by saying that this was the first time ive had a tattoo artist actually take time and draw from scratch my tattoo. The only time ive ever seen this done was on Miami Ink lol. Usually, in my experience, tattoo artists print off the computer and paste. Im sure theres a time and a place for that but ive just never had it done for any of my tattoos. So that was very cool.

I emailed Kiki my inspiration for my tattoos and she did an amazing job getting into my head with all the cutesy details that i love so much about my pieces.

She was a lovely time the entire 4 hours i was with her. Very professional, engaged, and open to my ideas. Also, hallelujah, she had a gentle hand lol. The area where i was tatted, SUCKED! But she made it suck less cuz she was super gentle. We talked the entire 4 hours i was there, I felt immediately like i had known her for years. Also, her room is super cute and inspirational, full of drawings, art and posters. I felt like i was at home in her little world. I really did have a fantastic time. And i completely appreciate her style ( art, fashion, everything). Ill be back for some self love and mom heart tattoos :)

Everyone at Fura is super nice and professional. When i come in, even just to ask a question, the front desk is very knowledgable and helpful about everything. Never once have i been treated poorly or with attitude (unlike a biker tattoo shop up the street).

So yeah Fura's the shit and thanks to the shop and all the artist whove always made my experience awesome!

This review is for Marie and Kiki. I have had tattoo's by both ladies, both are talented and amazing artists! Kiki did a adorable thumper tattoo on my mom and I, We both love it! She is so sweet, and talented. If you want a tattoo thats adorable & cute, She's your girl!
Marie is awesome. She did and anchor and flowers that Iv been wanting for a long time. She listens,takes her time, and the end result was perfect!!! Amazing artist!!!!I have her booked for a cover up tattoo soon! Can't wait!!!!
