This is a great store, you can buy practically anything you need here. Grocery items, clothing, home goods, jewelry, flowers, etc. I wish they had Fred Meyer in SoCal. I always buy groceries here when I am visiting family in town, they have good steaks, bread and produce.
I was here last week and found some nice casual clothing on clearance perfect for Southern California weather, they had a big section of clearance clothing, understandably most was geared for the colder/wetter climate in Oregon but I found a beautiful lightweight sweater at a bargain for windy/cooler days at the coast. Its great no sales tax! That probably saved me $10 alone at least, shopping here during the week.
It does get busy being a college town, but I have always had quick check-out and friendly service here. I have also visited the Portland area and Newport, Oregon stores and pleased with all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jennifer S.Salem, United States946Sep 13, 2023
I had the best experience in the Fred Meyer jewelry department. Abby was very helpful and knowledgeable for the short time she's been there. Thank you for an awesome purchasing experience.

They have better prices than Safeway, fresher produce, it's a bigger store than Safeway is so it makes it easier to get more variety and more space between people. I hate crowds anyway, far before the whole Covid craziness started, so this was always my first choice.

Sure, their groceries are overpriced and their produce is old and soggy, but that's not the biggest drawback of all! Woe betide anyone who wants to use the PHARMACY. Just take a gander at this LINE! Maybe if they would pay these folks a DECENT WAGE they could reopen the pharmacy window or have sufficient staff to man the counters. It used to be only a couple of people in line, but now the cue passes past the donuts and into the rubbery chicken lane. Never seen anything like it. Stop being so cheap, management--hire some more damn staff!

When your pharmacy line regularly interferes with buying apples and the store doesn't take Apple Pay, that is when I quit going there. The store is about 10 blocks from my house but I'll go out of my way to shop at Winco.

Fred Meyer has always been on the expensive side, but I shopped there in the past because they had some items that I couldn't find elsewhere and the had a decent organic dry goods and bulk section. Some time over the past couple of years they remodeled the store into a shopping disaster. The bulk section has been whittled down to practically nothing and now the organic dry goods are mixed in with the non-organic (soup for example). Plus they drastically decreased the range of those products. So now there are these looonnnng, narrow aisles with everything intermingled. No one that I have talked to thinks the new design is good. I now avoid this store almost entirely because it's very unpleasant to shop there. The two stars is only because they still carry Foster Farms chicken which is hard to find, so I go in for that and nothing else.

Had a terrible experience in the pharmacy today. The blond pony tailed tech actually shamed me for leaving after I expected to receive my eye drops but of course, it was not ready...is it ever? I left before it was filled so he acted like I personally insulted him. Hey pharmacy.....how do you like going by my timeline and not yours??? I wait, sometimes for days to pick up a med, am constantly asked to pick one up that I picked up WEEKS ago, and at times, you short me giving a disinterested reason like, "we didn't get the full amount in"....another words, who cares about you? I'm the patient who without me and others, keep you working? This place is disgusting, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Get another pharmacy, it's not worth the emotion to leave a review and above all, avoid Mr. Ponytail, he's a rude piece of work. Kings Blvd location, Corvallis Or

This used to be a decent chain but it's lost its way since becoming a Kroger property. Nothing like it was and very disappointing. Poor training for staff means poor customer service. Very young and inexperienced staff with zero people skills working the CS desk. Really a shame...

Love this Fred Meyer location for my one stop shop needs, but tonight was fantastic!S s/o Jennifer at the checkout- I believe the only one checking customers out right now. Her customer service was a breathe of fresh air & I look forward to seeing more of her bubbly personality in that store. Fred Meyers & this community need more folks like Jennifer.
