I had a team of people in for business, and I took them out to dinner. The hotel suggested this restaurant.
It is in a nice little restaurant and bistro district, kind of place. There was a wine bar and an upscale Pizza Place.
This Italian they said was Family owned. The food was amazing, so was the service. I had the stuffed mushroom appetizer and what I call a Caprese With tomatoes and Mozzarella etc. I had their home made Lobster Ravioli, and I got a side of Angel hair with Bolognese, both were amazingly good.
We shared a Creme Brûlée, and it wasn't the best, I thought they went too far charring the sugar. I would highly, highly recommend this place. The service was very, very good.
They did ask if we had a reservation and we did not, so we were lucky they had a table.
The atmosphere was also very good, it felt like a very nice place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 72188166Nov 9, 2018
My wife and I went here about 11 days ago for dessert after dinner. As soon as we entered we were greeted. We asked to sit at the bar since we were only going to have a few drinks and dessert. The staff was very friendly and service was quick.
I had the chocolate cake and my wife had the creme brûlée. She also had a fancy drink that had some type of flower in the bottom of it. The chocolate cake was amazing. It was perfectly airy and was light on the lips (my wife said that means for ever on the hips). This chocolate cake was one of the best that I have ever eaten and I love chocolate cake! The creme brûlée that my wife ordered was also very good. Both desserts were garnished with a sliced strawberry. I did not try the drink that she had though because I was enjoying my beer. We will definitely be going back here to eat!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Oct 1, 2018
***This is part of a mini-review-series highlighting Hurricane Florence All Stars. Those who stuck around for the potential storm know how difficult it was to find open businesses. Not only did I find businesses open here and there, I found most of them to have rock star attitudes about it. It's important to remember those that were there for you and to appreciate them for that.***
I came in on the evening McMaster announced the the mandatory evacuation and places had already started closing early and grocery stores were being ransacked. There was only couple people dining but it was also fairly late on a Monday. I asked if they were closing early and they said they weren't and welcomed us to a table. We started with some red wine I didn't really enjoy but don't know enough to say something was actually wrong with it or if I just didn't like the taste. Things quickly turned around whey the bread came out along side the soup we ordered. It was a white bean base and could have eaten a whole pot of it for dinner.
Luckily I saved room because I ordered the saltimbocca. It was a special so I'm not sure how often it's on the menu but it's a must-order item. The prosciutto got a little crisped up and added so much flavor the the dish. It was covered it cheese and hugged by a mound of mashed potatoes. I can't resist a creme brûlée so we finished up with the limoncello version and an "Italian Coffee". The creme brûlée was great but the coffee was borderline cold. I didn't want to make a fuss when they were being so hospitable so I sucked it down and headed home. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0
