Been here a few times. This is a mid-tear Escape Room place, not the worst but certainly not the best. The clues and room themes don't necessarily go hand-in-hand, and it feels like random puzzles were used for each themed room. The explanations prior to game start weren't well explained, and it seemed the staff working were less enthusiastic about helping and more adamant about getting us to post on social media about our time after the fact.

I rarely give one stars but it really disappointed me because i saw little to no effort from the staff. The two people working there were these two students, one girl and one guy. They were on their phones and stayed on their phones until we went directly up to the front desk and even then they didn't say anything until I told them i reserved a room.
I came a little early so I didn't mind waiting, but when it was time for my reservation there was no excitement to it like escape rooms used to have. The girl just told us how she would hand cuff one of each of our hands (it was just me and my boyfriend there) and then led us to the room. She kept walking back and forth because she kept forgetting to bring items like flashlights or fake candles so it all felt very unprepared. About halfway through our game my handcuffs came apart.
When we got out we were 5 minutes overtime so I was okay with not getting a polaroid taken but there was no photo at all, there was no "how was it". They just kept texting on their phones and said bye as we left. I later got an e-mail saying "check your photo out on out facebook page" but like i never got asked to take one????
I was really hoping for a better experience because it was the first time going with my boyfriend and it was also part of his birthday surprise. I've been to this escape room before but it has definitely gotten worse since the change of staff. I hope this place either fixes themselves up or shuts down cause i don't think it deserves to hold up that space if it's not going to do at least a mediocre job.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mike G.Toronto, ON64610Nov 26, 2019
The girl who greeted us barely greeted us. She didn't seem excited or enthusiastic explaining how the escape room works. She sort of just left us to start. The escape room it's self didn't look like much pride or care was put into the way it looked. There didn't seem to be a strong theme/story. The riddles were mostly not too clever. A few of them were. The last riddle was actually impossible to figure out and when she explained it to us it still seemed like a long shot. When it was over she didn't ask how our experience was. First thing she said was to remember to get our coats in the locker. She made it seem like there were people coming in right after us but there was literally no one anywhere.
BEST PART- A crucial object used for one of the puzzles in the room was missing, she must have forgotten to put it back in the room before we started. We asked her about it after. The girl was unapologetic and didn't even acknowledge that she (or someone else) messed up and forgot it. The puzzle piece was a laser pointer which you point at a mirror and it reflects off of other mirrors to point to your next clue. By far the coolest feature but they forgot it.
I wouldn't go back. Gotta step up your game! A bit more pride in the aesthetic of the room and your staff literally don't want to be there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adam G.Dovercourt, Toronto, ON73Feb 5, 2017
I would like to start by saying that our groups initial experience at EscapeZone was great. Friendly staff at the beginning, and the game itself was fun as well.
The problem arose when halfway through the game, one member of our party brushed a box door on the wall that was ALREADY open, and the door popped off. We thought nothing of this as sometimes things wear out and fall apart.
Once we were done the game a different staff member took us to the front and was much less friendly. After mentioning that we might want to play another game, she came back with the box door that we had forgotten about and was clearly angry with us. She accusingly said that we would have to pay $5 extra for the door.
We said we understood the policy (in place due to vandalism I assume), but that we in fact had already solved the puzzle and brushed the door off its hinge accidentally (which was not even broken, the pin had merely fallen out). This didn't seem to matter to this staff member and we were to blame. It felt like being asked to pay for a broken plate in a restaurant.
DO NOT GO HERE. They will make you PAY for UNINTENTIONAL DAMAGE to POORLY MADE OBJECTS you DON'T EVEN DAMAGE in a DARK ROOM.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ali K.Toronto, ON11112May 4, 2018
I made an booking for a group of 4 online about a week before our visit. When we showed up on the day, nobody was there and the door was locked.
We called them numerous times (left voicemails) and also e-mailed them with no response. After awkwardly waiting on the sidewalk for about 15-20 minutes, we left.
A few days went by, and no one ever reached out to us to apologize or to reschedule! No one even responded to my emails, so I had to call and make sure that they knew we didn't come and to not charge my credit card. The guy told us that there might have been a "power outage" but someone should have reached out to us to let us know...
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Lots of great other escape rooms in the city that are actually open for your booking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda L.Toronto, ON7624771592Mar 9, 2015
This is the very first escape room that I ever tried, and to be honest I was a little disappointed due to the size of the room.
I went with a group of 6 and since we were kinda noobs we decided to try out the easiest room, which is the Billard Room. The room was so small (about 3m x 5m), and with the giant pool table in the middle it was difficult to move around.
From where I see the other rooms are just as small, if not smaller, so I think 4 people should be the maximum capacity for this place.
I do love the photo wall with the signs however, great for photo ops with friends and posting on Facebook lol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hubert T.Ottawa, ON41134576Dec 28, 2017
This is a great venue for small 2-5 player groups. There are four Escape Rooms to play. The easiest being the Billiard Murder Mystery and the toughest being the Da Vinci Code. The par time for each of the four rooms is 45 mins. I recommend you make back-to-back reservations because after you first game $25 per person, your second and subsequent games are only $15 per person. The whole venue is kept very clean and the host is very friendly and very well prepared to facilitate the games. A spacious locker is provided for you to stow your jacket and belongings, and there are also bathrooms for your use prior to starting your game. Highly recommended!

Great place!! I love the price and the quality of room you get.
Highly suggest the Black Room!! The in the dark really sets the atmosphere and the handcuffs helps as well. It was a really big team work job. I loved the use of technology and riddles combined.
The red time count down clock really made us feel the rush.
They probably do need to edit the last puzzle cause I still don't know how that fits in with everything. Otherwise I had a lot of fun.
I came back to do the music room and it was decent, the sound mixer puzzle really needs to be edited because it was so hard to input the answer in. one of the locks were also rusted shut. Lol.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sameer F.Mississauga, ON915417Aug 26, 2016
Good place but rooms seem a bit small for engaging a group of 4. Good customer service but the place seemed dirty.
The customer service seemed helpful but at the same time there was only one person running the establishment and he was really overwhelmed with people lined up.
I will be trying other locations as there might be much more bigger spaces available in the GTA.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Tuyet Anh Đ.Toronto, ON70109701Jan 23, 2017
First time ever doing an escape room and this place is definately really good for such! I picked the easiest room (BILLIARDS) with 2 other friends and we had to use help twice hahah! The guy Michael was really helpful and didn't give too much away for clues and was a really friendly person. Maybe we're just bad and dumb but it was really fun overall. I would definately want to come back and try the Da Vinci room because I heard it was the hardest and its the only other room with bright lights (scared of the dark). Excited to come back give it a try!
