I avoid writing negative reviews, but this place is absolutely awful (Edison Park Fast).

I recently paid to park at their Secaucus location for a few hours and took the train into the city. Upon my return to the parking lot, I found my car had been damaged (hit and run). I immediately informed the assistant manager, who photographed the damage and took down my contact information. He then told me that his boss would contact me the next day. Unfortunately, I never received a call.

Luckily, I had their business card and was able to connect with the facility manager the following day. I informed him about the incident. He reviewed the cameras and said they saw (on video) the vehicle that hit my car, but were unable to get the plate number, color of vehicle, make or model. Basically, they could not see anything. The manager's excuse was that it was dark outside. Mind you, the entire lot was lit and there were cameras ALL OVER the place (including the entrance and exit)!

If the cameras do not work (especially at night!) or are THAT poor in quality, then why have them in the first place? What if somebody's vehicle gets broken into? Is this not a safety issue?

Anyway, he went on to say that the individual immediately drove away after hitting my car to find another parking spot. I then politely asked him why they did not follow the cameras to check where the vehicle re-parked (and perhaps check the entrance/exit cameras for the plate number); He responded that he refuses to sit there for 15-30 minutes to watch video tapes. After attempting to further convince him, he simply said that they do not want to get involved. That was when I realized they could have easily identified the vehicle, but simply refused to help.

After all I went through, I would not recommend this place to anybody. Think twice before parking at this location if you are at all concerned about the safety of your personal property. Frankly, I do not even understand why NJ allows businesses such as Edison Park Fast to operate here. It is unfortunate that honest paying customers always get the short end of the stick in situations like this (while the business owners take our money and the individual who caused the damage gets away, just like that!).

$92 for 2 days, what a f...ing rip. It's cheaper to drive to and park in NY. Screw this place and their price gouging, park somewhere for free and take an uber/lyft/etc to the station. Read all the other reviews, don't give this place your money!!!

I have to write a review here simply because I keep reading the replies by the lot owners about rates being 'more than competitive'. This just drives me crazy. The point of a commuter train is to drive the use of public transportation upwards. It should not only save time, but cost, the environment, etc. When this junction opened, I was mystified to find there was no parking whatsoever. The place has its own giant Turnpike exit for crying out loud.

I'm quite sure that the town of Secaucus made some sort of deal to sell parking space since the area around the station is a vast wasteland of emptiness. Could they have built a huge commuter lot with reasonably priced or free parking? Of course they could have. Take a look at the Allwood Rd. terminal in Clifton. Two huge lots, with all day parking for less than $5.

Instead, we have a lot who continues to raise prices (at least three times that I'm aware of) to where a day's parking costs $25. Is that less than parking at a garage in the city? Sure. Depends where you park. I can certainly find all day parking for $30. Then you've got the cost of a round trip train ride at $8.50. Plus the hassle and constraint of riding the train and its limited late return times. It costs $10.25 peak to go through the Lincoln if you've got EZPass. If there's two of you, forget it. You're way ahead.

Is all of this Edison's fault? No. It's the greed of whomever is making money off of it at the NJ level, which I assume is the Town of Secaucus. But Edison Fast Park - please stop telling us these rates are 'competitive' when you've got no competition.

*March 2014 update* - though I avoid parking here when I can, I sometimes have no choice. Today was one of those days. When I picked up my car, two things happened. One, I had no cash on me, so guess what? The valet gets no tip. They did, however, get my $21, so I didn't appreciate when the valet looked at me and said "That's it?" when I got in the car and didn't tip him. Do your job. Secondly, there was a nice piece of paper kindly pointing out that next week, parking increases yet again to $24 for anything over 4 hours and there's no more early bird specials. Nice. So now, to park and round trip to Penn, it will cost $33. I did a little searching and I found that just a few years ago, a day's parking here could be had for $11. This is price gouging at its finest.

Guess what Edison? I can find full day parking all over the city for 20-23 bucks. It's 11 dollars to use the Lincoln tunnel and I don't pay a toll for 15X. Oh and I don't have to walk a half a mile to the train station, climb 14 flights of steps and escalators and deal with 42,000 people on the platform and rude NJT personnel. Instead, I'll just wait in tunnel traffic and frankly, the way NJT has been performing, get there faster. You've made the SEC station as a point of origin pointless.

It used to be a reasonable option to driving in the city now it's a total rip-off with a deceptive pricing policy.

I arrived a quarter of 5 on a weeknight for dinner in the city. I prepaid my parking like I've done many times before it was like $8. When I try to leave the gate would not open and the attendant told me I needed to pay more. He told me to back up and come to the booth and pay my balance whatever that was and I couldn't because cars were blocking me in and beeping their horns.

To make matters worse the guy in the next lane was having the same issue. He was not as patient as me and he actually got out and removed the gate and then all the backed up cars piled out in a mad scramble. It was a dangerous situation and I'm not going through that again.

Management of this place gets a big F for allowing this sort of confusion to occur. Not to mention the rude employees who barely speak English. Stay away at all costs.

I never parked there before so after my event was over, I took my ticket to the window to pay. The Ticket clerk was surly and told me next time to use the machine to pay. Way to go to make me feel comfortable and welcomed. Have no fear; there won't be a next time.

      $17 for a weekday?

Yes, it's convenient, but not the biggest lot (fills up by 9:30am on the weekday) and is brutally expensive. Compared to driving into the city, if you can park on street, this is much more expensive. Plus it's a long-ish walk to get to the platforms themselves.

It's an exposed, safe parking lot where it's almost impossible to lose your car, but it's a rip-off and the only option at Secaucus

There is absolutely no reason to charge a full day's fee as penalty for a customer losing their parking ticket except to take advantage of the situation. (To add insult to injury, they miscalculated the overage and we were charged more than we owed.) I get that it's a business, but it demonstrates how ruthless a biz can be to its customers when there is no competition.

Next time we'll drive into the city.

Yes, the valet guys are very good at their jobs and are almost all very nice. They're fast and efficient. They do now pool the tips, but probably so the guys who check your car in can also get in on the tip action.

The parking lot is conveniently at the Secaucus train station (and it's the only parking option around) but there aren't enough parking spots for everyone, so often times you HAVE to valet.

They know they're the only option around since they have just recently (in October) increased their monthly parking rate by $35/month bringing the total to $295/month. It is expensive, and I would normally give it 3 stars, but the valet guys really do try to greet you with a smile and a nice word, so I am happy to recommend them.

Also - you can text them your valet # about 1 hour before you need to get it and your car will be waiting for you up front.

I owe a heartfelt thank-you to Mr. Bourmel, one of the managers at Edison ParkFast in Secaucus, NJ. On the night before Thanksgiving, he went out of his way to help me with a multitude of car issues.

My car battery was empty and I had locked my keys in my car. Talk about a frustrating situation!

In the midst of a very cold, dark, rainy night, he kindly took the time to expertly unlock my car door and jump start my car. When it appeared my battery was still not functioning properly, he called automotive part stores on my behalf to help look for a new battery. All in all, I spent over an hour with Mr. Bourmel, and not once did he express any impatience. His car expertise and customer service is commendable!

I recommend this parking lot for those who live in Manhattan and desire long-term parking/storage with occasional car trips. The rate is $99 per month, with an additional fee of $15 each time the car is removed from the lot.

It's actually quite astonishing that major train hub such as Secaucus Junction would not have parking. Looks like the Park Fast co figured that one out and is making some decent money off of it. However, they do offer an online coupon that you can fill out and after hours and weekend parking is then free. Better than nothing right?
