Decided to have dinner here on a whim, and now we're going to be lifelong customers! The food was amazing, it's almost like going to Hong Kong. The Chinese desserts were *chef's kiss*.
Service was . Steven was so attentive and kind. The servers here do take care of you and can give you great recommendations.
They do validate parking and the space is spotless.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Joe S.Potomac, United States17076Dec 31, 2023
The setting is a typical high-end restaurant with very high-end charge for their dishes. Unfortunately, the quality of the foods is no where to be high-end. In fact, we ordered several of their famous dishes, such as Roasted Duck In Peking Style, Braised E-Fu Noodle with Crab Meat, Typhoon Shelter Crab, etc. The taste is very disappointing. You could easily find way better taste foods at 1/3 of the cost in Vancouver metro. Even if you prefer a nice restaurant setting, there are plenty of restaurants cost about 1/2. The neighborhood of this restaurant is not very nice. There was a dirty homeless guy at the entrance of the restaurant asking for money. Over all, it is a very disappointing experience.

Classic high end Dim Sum with great food, attentive service and lofty prices to match. You get what you pay for.
We ordered Dim Sum items that was not available at Dim Sum desert PDX.
Like most high end Dim Sum restaurants, you order from a menu rather that pointing to the Dim Sum offerings presented in carts.
We especially liked the Abalone & Chicken Fried Rice served on a clay pot. The Breath-of-the-Wok was present in every bite.
We also enjoyed the Truffle Dumplings , The minced Pork and Crab Dumplings and the fried Squid tentacles.
We ended our meal with Durian Mochi - also recommended.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Frank C.Vancouver, BC124712Aug 17, 2023
Very nice place, good food, a bit pricy, but when reviews from Michelin. You can expect it to be 2 hour free parking but we used the street, so expensive now. 7:39 pm. The restaurant is full up . Needed reservation. Very varying menu, almost anything you want authentic Chinese high end, and dry nice presentation. Also taste was spot on. Would return.

My boyfriend and I have heard such great things about Cantonese food in Vancouver. I saw Dynasty on Eaters and their typhoon shelter crab was recommended so I decided to come and try it out.
The entrance to Dynasty is inside of an office building/lobby area and not through the side so it took me a bit to find it. There were some paid street parking and an underground parking I believe.
I called to get a reservation on the same day and had no problem getting a table for two people though the restaurant was pretty busy with large tables.
We ordered the typhoon shelter crab and two individual fish maw soups both were really delicious. You have the option of adding sticky rice on the bottom which made the dish way too much food for two, but it was so good. The crab was about 2-3 lbs and it took us a bit to finish the whole thing. The entire bill came out to be around $130 USD which isn't bad at all considering the type of food we were eating.
The staff there were pretty attentive and checked in on us a lot. I'd highly recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - J Y.Houston, United States0171136Jun 10, 2023
Was looking forward to some great dimsum, having heard Vancouver had some of the best dimsum in the world. Was very underwhelmed with what we got. The place was pretty fancy, with matching fancy prices. Ordered the usual dimsum staples: hagao, shumai, chickenfeet, daikon cake and chashu bun. The only good dish was the bun, the other dishes were just ok, nothing special. The hagao was pretty mediocre, bland, kind of dry. Also ordered some additional dishes like squid tentacles, truffle dumplings and crab with pork dumplings, they were ok, but not great. Maybe they had an off day, but was not too impressed with what we got. They didn't even have my favorite chrysanthemum tea. The fancy environment did little to make the dimsum taste any better unfortunately. Hopefully the other dimsum places will live up to the hype.

If you're considering going to this place for dinner, it's honestly not worth it. DIM SUM in the morning is absolutely AMAZING, but dinner was personally a horrible experience for my family and I. Maybe other people have had better experiences, and we were just unlucky. The food and service we received wasn't a wow for a $249 set dinner for three people. Backstory:
I was eating the lobster, and when I used the fork to pick the meat I noticed something that looked like a parasitic worm. At this point please note that we were simply asking for reassurance that this was not a worm and we didn't have to worry. The man that inspected this suspected worm just SHRUGGED it off and said
"Oh it's impossible for parasitic worms to grow near the leg, that's just the tendon"
He then proceeded to walk off. An apology at the very least would have sufficed and been enough. OFFERING to check with the chef to look into this would have been enough. But walking off like we were trying to rip them off was definitely not appreciated.
Quite frankly after being there so many times this was the worst customer service we have ever received and I am thoroughly disappointed. The only time I'll ever return is when I'm craving for their delicious deep fried purple yam ball. If any one goes for dimsum it's a must try!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Megan W.Bronzeville, Chicago, United States045Mar 24, 2023Updated review
