Awesome section of dresses!
Amazing staff & the sweetest seamstress ever.
I loved my visits to Danel. If you're located in Central/Southern NY and looking for a Bridal Shop- make sure you add this place to your list of shops to visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diane B.San Diego, United States471814Jul 23, 2017

Years later, I still tell people of the horrible experience I had here. By far the worst sales interaction that I've had and ever hope to have. Some how all off the negative reviews have been removed from this site. There were several 1 star reviews reporting similar stories when I checked last so don't be fooled. I drove all the way from Cornell University to receive horrible treatment. It was a shame and as such, I am posting my experience again:
If you have the opportunity, go elsewhere. Today, at this supposedly professional establishment, I received the rudest customer service I've ever experienced in my lifetime. After calling ahead to ask about appointments and ordering procedures, I went in to purchase an Alfred Angelo dress that needed to be ordered. I had the style number and color ready to go but was not sure of my dress size.
From the very moment that the sale associate unwillingly began to assist me, she had an unsavory attitude. When I arrived at the front desk and she approached, she began to fiddle with objects at the counter before even addressing me. Once she did finally address me, the phone rang and she stopped our conversation to pick it up, not once but twice. I worked in customer service for a number of years and that is a big no, no. During our very brief discussion she seemed entirely unwilling to sell anything to me by providing curt responses. Finally, I had to say that I was told on the phone I could purchase a specific dress in that shop and that I drove an hour to make the order before she even seemed remotely willing to sell me a dress.
Then it came to sizing. She was very annoyed that I wasn't sure of my dress size given that they tend to run small. It wasn't until I mentioned that the sole reason I came to this establishment is because of the professed good customer service on the webpage, that "the professional" began to treat me like a customer purchasing a product. Disgruntled, she pulled a few dresses off of the shelf so that I could determine my own size.
During the time that I spent waiting to pay my bill, I noticed the way that she acted towards other customers. She happily measured their bust, waist and hip sizes with the measuring band and asked if they would like to pay 50% of the bill now and 50% of the bill later. Neither of these services were offered to me. She also spent a few minutes filling out each person's order form and she handed me a blank to fill in each detail of the dress and my information on my own.
The most annoying part is that I had the option to drive the same distance and go to an Alfred Angelo chain but had instead chosen to support a local business thinking that it would be a better experience and money well spent.
I contacted this company a couple of days later to cancel my order because I felt that my money was better spent elsewhere and they had lost all evidence of the transaction though my card was charged! Thank god that I had the receipt and the initials of who "took care" of me that day. While the owner was apologetic after my having contacted the BBB, there was no apology directly from the staff and no indication that she would receive feedback on her performance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 20, 2012Previous reviewWow, and we just called the manager today to speak of the incident. Apparently that sales receipt has been "misplaced". They have no record of the sale. Had I depended on them to order my dress, I would not be in the wedding. What professional establishment does things like that?!? And to think that I was excited to arrive at a shop where they value customer service!

This was my first stop in searching for a wedding gown. I was put off by the representative from one of the designers there demonstrating a trunk show. She was very pushy. I did not like that she only showed me dresses by her designer. I didn't like that she stubbornly shoved me into a dress 5 sizes too small for me to show me how "nice that looked on me". Sorry, crazy lady, all i saw was a stuffed sausage.
On the other hand, the sales associates that worked directly for Danel were amazing. They were friendly, empathetic towards my anxiety, and set me at ease. I did not feel any pressure from them to buy. They talked directly too me, attempted to learn about my interests, and then highlighted features of the dresses they thought would appeal to me. They did not assume. When I left, they even passed me additional information regarding other vendors I may need to plan my wedding. That was helpful.
I don't like the limited store hours. That made it difficult to get in and see what was available. The staff were very respectful of my limited time and was able to get me in and out of about 5 dresses within an hour, so i would not be late for work.
Regarding the dress selections: OMG, Amazing! Beautiful, and I am a plus-size lady, i was worried that i would have Big Girl Dilemma...seeing pretty things I could not touch. this was not the case here at Danel. There was a selection of beautiful plus-sized gowns in the styles I was interested in.
Overall, I would go back to try on other designers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
