Love this store! It's always been my favourite art store in Edmonton. Hands down. People are always so friendly and helpful. They have amazing prices on all their products. I'm so glad they're still in business.

I thoroughly enjoy visiting this art store for all my supplies. Every-time I visit I am greeted in a friendly, professional manner. They have lots of variety, low prices and knowledgeable staff.. and if they don't have what you are looking, for they can order it. Overall, very satisfied with this store, and staff. Recommend.

We spent a few hours running all over town to find one specific item. It was disappointing how few places actually advertised or posted their holiday hours. This is a great small business jam packed (albeit a touch cluttered) with amazing art goodies. I was SO happy to find my item here for a very good price, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

I find Colours Art and Framing South to be the best art store (off campus).
Although it's a funny little place I have never gone there looking for something specific and left without it; No matter how obscure or fine-arts-ish the item . The gentleman working there is super knowledgeable and had an answer, with a positive attitude, no matter how stupid my question. They advertise their sale items on their web site and that certainly helps when ringing in numerous items.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tamia H.Vancouver, BC1145172306Jan 14, 2016
This art supply store is pretty nice. I just wish it was brighter and a *little* more organized. At the very front of the store, where you walk in, there is a large list of sale items. Towards the right of the store there is a large table of clearance items. I didn't find what I was specifically looking for, but I still walked out with other items I needed. The customer service was okay.

My favourite art store in Edmonton! The prices are great and they always have something 30%. The staff aren't pushy and are very down to earth. The man who helped me get started with watercolours didn't talk down to me because of my inexperience...he also didn't try to push the super pricey stuff on me, understand that I was new to the medium. I always go here for my supplies. I've never had framing done here...yet!

Went in there to buy a compressor.
They had what appeared to be an empty display box. Fair enough, compressors can be heavy and will break if dropped. So I walk it over to the counter. The girl scans it and tells me the total. I go to pay when I ask in a joking manner if she is going to grab the actual one.
Girl was shellshocked and only then realized it was an empty box.
So she finds me one that actually has the compressor in it (which was in a different part of the store). When I ask why they just have empty boxes sitting around like that which they might accidentally sell she didn't have an answer.
Given this is a $300 piece of hardware, I asked if I got it home and it turned out not to be functioning, how long did I have to bring it back to exchange it for another one.
Staff member was really puzzled by the question and they said they did not do that.
Seriously? You do not stand by your products? You could sell someone a dud right out of the box and you are fine with that?
So I went south one block to the hobby store, bought the same compressor for a little more money but they will take it back if it is not functional and exchange it for me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 5, 2013Previous reviewI've been here twice and both experiences were very different.
First off, there's a lot of stuff in this store. It's very cramped and not necessarily organized in the best way. There's about 3 different locations where you can find sketchbooks! Sometimes the prices are missing, which means you have to go to the staff to find out how much somethings costs.
The first time I went, the gentleman running the counter was very rude and impatient. I couldn't find the prices for two things and he really didn't liked being asked how much anything was. This wouldn't be a problem if their signage was more complete! He was the only one there and there happened to be two other customers in the shop with me. One wanted something framed, which took up 20 min of his time, leaving us two waiting at the counter for that long. Clearly there are times when an extra set of hands behind the counter wouldn't hurt!
I came back a few months later, and there was man named "Dale" working there who completely changed my attitude towards the place. He was very friendly and helpful.
Overall, I like going there, depending on who's working!
