ChowKing at South San Francisco, CA opened for
business Thursday December 15, 2016. Daily store
hours are 0700-2100H.
There is ample parking inside the shopping center
at the corner of Callan Blvd. and Westborough Blvd.

The order takers, bus persons and majority of workers
inside the kitchen were wearing hair nets. The serving
size, temperature, quality, and appearance of food is
adequate. The order taker is knowledgeable with the
products and knows how to upsell.
There were two order takers, one food runner plus one
supervisor behind the counter. Three cooks wearing hair
nets in the kitchen, and another ten workers preparing
miscellaneous items. It was elbows and shoulders.
Do they have at least two working fire extinguishers,
strategically situated? Would these 17 persons form an
orderly single file towards the exit, in case of a flammable
emergency in the kitchen?

Service staff is friendly, maintains eye contact, and well
groomed with a professional demeanor. The tables and
chairs were clean and orderly.
Their bathroom smelled clean, has a diaper changing
station and is ADA compliant. There were two pan,
tilt, rotate security cameras aimed at customers.

The store has a posted maximum room capacity of
46 persons. At the front of the house, I counted 41
persons, excluding the two bus persons and me.

The two sauce containers filled with vinegar leaked
as they ended at the bottom of the plastic bag,
together with four boxes. Lesson learned: place all the
liquid stuff in a separate plastic bag.

ChowKing needs a suggestion box for constructive
criticism. The name of the current store manager
should be properly posted on top of the suggestion box.
