Chop Steakhouse Bar

Very nicely decorated restaurant with pleasant staff. I have found this restaurant serves the tastiest prime rib as well as crème Brûlée. There was a very quiet and comfortable atmosphere and just the right amount of attention from the wait staff. Overall a very pleasant experience

staff: friendly hostess and server.

service: orders were taken promptly. Food came out quickly for a busy evening. One of our guests found her dish had too much garlic - they were very accommodating and brought her a different dish.

My wife and I were visiting Edmonton, Alberta on business from Georgia, USA. We're staying at the Sandman Hotel (17635 Stony Plain Rd.) for a couple of evenings, and next door to this hotel is the Chop Steakhouse Restaurant and Bar. We're so glad we decided to eat at this restaurant. It's a great place to eat for a date night, a business meeting lunch or dinner, or just eating out with friends and family. The atmosphere is casual, laid back, and there's plenty of parking. The wait for being seated wasn't long. The entire staff and service was awesome. Ask for Lucy if you come. Tell her, 'Her Georgia friends recommended the Chop Steak House'.

My wife and I started with some soup. She had the French Onion Soup, and I had their Soup of the day, Prime Rib Crème Soup. Amazing starters. We both had the Prime Rib Steaks as our main entree. I had the large prime rib, and she had the regular. It was one of the best prime ribs I've ever eaten, and in my travels, I've eaten at some amazing places. It's so good that we're bringing some business associates here tomorrow evening for supper. I highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone one that came to our table was gracious, kind, and helpful. I very rarely give five stars. You have to be spot on ... on customer service, food, atmosphere, etc. This place is a must if you're in the Edmonton area. Come hungry and come with friends! You'll be glad you did!

From start to finish, this meal was spectacular for everyone.
Table for 6 in the "fancy" booth with the velvet walls.
We had steaks, chicken, ribs and fish. All the plates were great except my side of broccolini was a bit cold.
Several of us enjoyed the flavourful mashed potatoes while others thought the rice pilaf was the best side. Green beans and squash (pumpkin?) were the seasonal veg.
We normally don't order dessert, but 5 of us were coaxed. The blueberry cheesecake was the winner with the pineapple upside-down cake a close second.
Excellent service.
It's a quiet dining room.
We got a last minute reservation.
Easy location with free parking.

The worst person you know just made a great point.........It was Canada. And how they make great steaks.


Chop was delightful. Service was over the top too friendly, but I think that's just how Canadians act. Our server, Nick, gave us the best possible experience we could have asked for. He even gave me a firm handshake after my meal.

The prices looked outrageous, but then I realized they were in Canadian dollars, and that their dollar is far inferior to ours (even with sleepy joe at the wheel).

I ordered the 7oz filet paired with the Yukon mashed. It came with veggies, but i think that was just there for the presentation. Honestly one of the best meals i've had.

I guess I shouldn't have expected much from this chain steakhouse here in this Edmonton location. It's partly my fault for not ordering a steak but instead a Ceasar salad and their Lobster Mac and Cheese for the main course which really wasn't very good at all. I left most of it in the plate and ordered a French Onion Soup as a filler. I didn't think any photos were worthwhile here. Upon reflection I think I should give this restaurant an extra star because the staff, and particularly the manager tried to please me after realizing I was unhappy with the meal, and did remove the Lobster Mac and Cheese from the bill.

Food wise I haven't really heard anything overly negative or positive , price wise to me seems quite expensive for the size of steaks given and portions . Ambiance is not awesome but sufficient

What an amazing experience our first time going here! especially thank you to Zoe (our amazing server) and Rachelle (the shift manager) you really went above and beyond. my husband & I were celebrating our anniversary. We received a complimentary appetizer, a complimentary champagne & even a card signed by staff!! the food was amazing and such special care in handling my seafood allergy! Thank you so much! We will definitely be coming back again

attended a work dinner on a Monday and the first thing I was impressed with was how well staffed the restaurant was.
We were led to a beautiful private table and our server Yvonne greeted us within seconds. She knew the menu completely and everything she recommended was delicious! Our glasses were never empty and outside of a couple minor kitchen related issues every Bite was superb! the manager even took the time to come by our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. As we were leaving we noticed how busy the restaurant was and I can't help but think it's the beautiful ambience, great service and unbelievable steak!

Went here last night, the place has a great aubiance. The staff were great and the food was good. The prices are a little high for portion sizes. But overall was a good experience.
