China King: Where Attention to Detail Makes All the Difference
At China King, you know you're in for a treat. I went for the House Lo Mein, a classic favorite, and was pleasantly surprised to find the shrimp deveined. It's the little things that count, right? No more dealing with shrimp digestive tracts - thank you, China King! Whether it's General Tso's chicken or beef with broccoli, they always hit the spot. Props to China King for keeping it real in the world of takeout!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2023Updated review
Given this place several more tries since my last visit and it's amazingly improved!
The Singapore mei fun packs a spicy flavorful hit and is a great alternative to lo mein (wheat noodle).
Anything with shrimp and veggies is a great choice too! The shrimp are always a good choice here! We had Shrimp and Snow Peas-it was delicious! I asked for extra garlic and ginger and they didn't disappoint.
This place is a togo place, but it you had to eat inside you could, but very few tables. It's your typical walk up counter style Chinese restaurant in a strip mall.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 22, 2016Previous reviewI get food from here consistently, but on the last trip it was horrendous. I hate to be negative, but this place used to be consistent and good...no more! Terribly overcooked lo mein, completely inedible and had to be thrown in the trash. Hardly any veggies in there, which they always had a decent amount before. The fried rice had the most disgusting frozen peas in there.
The mu shu pork was the only thing that was actually good. - Zorro D.Wellington, United States3664Nov 9, 2023
Very good food, convenient location, just a little expensive... but then again, what isn't these days?!?
The taste and freshness are worth being a repeat customer. I recommend China King. Other Chinese restaurants in the area really don't measure up.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - laura l.Palm Coast, United States151Jan 22, 2024
Why is the fried rice yellow, no taste and it's not fried rice, why are they selling yellow rice and passing it off as fried rice, that's not right, this place use to be good but not anymore.

We ordered Sesame Chicken the other night, and I had a hard time finding the meat in a lot of the pieces. It was a lot of coating, and not enough chicken.
The crab Rangoon is still very good. The wrappers could be thinner, but the filling is delicious.
We like broccoli, and attempt to order a side of broccoli sautéed in some brown sauce, but they charge a whopping $13 for this. I understand they have to turn a profit, but that markup is ridiculous and as much as an entree. That being said, it really is very good and tasty. Try it if you're willing to spend that much on broccoli.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 18, 2016Previous reviewI rated this restaurant based on a combo of the dishes we ordered and our customer service experience. The General Tso was really enjoyable. Not too coated, definitely on the sweeter side (which I prefer)...if you like it more acidic, maybe skip this dish or add some rice wine vinegar when you get home. The Wonton soup was very good. The wontons were not mushy, like I've come to expect from Chinese take out. They had a nice, satisfying bite to them. Pork inside was nicely flavored, and broth wasn't overly salty. Fried dumplings were just okay for me. They were a little too salty, and I didn't really like the sauce it came with, which is very important for my dumpling dining experience. The Lo Mein was awful. Didn't like the flavor, noodles were mushy, but it was a crazy busy night, and maybe it was a glitch. I called them, and they were really apologetic, and let me switch it out for some House Chow Mei Fun. The Mei Fun was good, nice, subtle flavor, nice mixture of vegetables and meats, rice noodles were perfectly cooked. Had a very "fresh" taste, if that makes any sense. I was just visiting family in the area, and was disappointed to not find many reviews. Come on, Palm Coasters!! :)

I have been going to this takeout restaurant for 20 years -it was very good way back then prices were reasonable food was good all that is gone little by little and now it's just as bad as Chung King from a Can! Low Mein noodles are not low mein they substitute with spaghetti and the sauce they toss them in is nothing short of horrible just lazy and I don't care is what your going to get for dinner from here - don't waste your money

Spent 45 dollars on food yesterday at this place, my husband and I both took one bite and threw the whole order out! Absolutely no taste! We ordered chicken chow mien, sesame chicken and fried rice, was the worst food we ever ate! Will never go back!

This is the third time i had to call to complain about the food being dry. I forgot to tell them about it with this order and, of course, it was dry. Plus, we ordered one order of General Tso's chicken and got two orders. My husband didn't pay attention and paid for both. I called the manager to tell him we would not order from them again. Very disappointing. There are too many "like" restaurants in the area to keep on supporting China King.

The food, service and ambiance is good. This is the second place recommendation on this side of town for Chinese food.
