Paul Bosc S.
This family estate winery is set among 35 hectares of pristine vines in the St. David's Bench sub-appellation. Founded in 1978 by Canadian wine-industry visionary Paul Bosc, the winery continues to innovate with pioneering viticultural research. All wines are crafted from grapes grown on their own vineyards using sustainable farming techniques. The portfolio includes solid, well-structured single-vineyard wines, artisanally produced rare and unique varieties, as well as bold reds built for aging - all available for tasting at the bar for a nominal fee. The Château is a wonderful setting for private events, weddings and customized group experiences.

Chateau des Charms is an estate winery that has three vineyards. Their tasting room is a picturesque chateau surrounded by sprawling vines, making it a beautiful venue to celebrate a special event.
We came in October on a Sunday. They take reservations online for tastings and tours, however we didn't make one and did not have to wait.
They have a variety of tastings, including any 4 of their estate wines ($25), premium wines ($35), or food paired with 4-6 pre-selected wines ($35-$45). We ended up each picking 4 of the estate wines and shared a cheese and charcuterie board across two people. Their wine menu features primarily dry and semi-dry wines as well as a few dessert and ice wines. Each tasting also includes a $5 coupon off the purchase of a bottle of wine.
Karl led our wine tasting and was very friendly and knowledgeable. We would love to come back again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 15128533Oct 1, 2023
Château des Charmes was our first of three vineyards to visit this weekend. Upon arrival you can see the Château like landscaping and entrance. There are beautiful rose bushes all around.
When entering the main building you are greeted right away and escorted to your table.
Paul, our server arrived a few minutes after settling in. He was funny, knowledgeable and genuinely enjoyed speaking with us. He spoke about the vineyards history, building, vines, production and grounds.
The tasting was paired with light snacks to enhance and diversify flavours and to be honest, this was my favorite option.
If you are looking for a smaller, more personal vineyard, put this one on your list!
Bonus: We were offered a welcome glass of Sauvignon blanc, that I really enjoyed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 21, 2024
Booked this tasting for this last Saturday, our party of four had 3 Salty & Sweet Tastings and one Four & Four Tasting. I had never been to this winery and was pleasantly surprised. The winery itself was beautiful, we spent most of our time in the tasting area as there was a snowstorm when we visited. The wines here were super unique and went PERFECTLY with the food pairings. Our guide was Debra and she was so sweet and informative on our wines. I definitely want to come back here in the spring/summer to see what else this winery has to offer!

Not all wineries are created equal. Skip the big tourist grab wineries and come to Chateau des Charmes instead for quality, delicious wines in a beautiful venue.
We had a wonderful tour led by Logan. We got to view the vineyards and the cellar. We finished the tour with a tasting. I've been to many tastings in many different wine regions and this was the first time we were told how to taste wines from how to look at it, to how to smell it, to how to approach it in a variety of ways.
With a tour, you get a $5 off coupon for a bottle of wine. We were able to take home a delicious Chardonnay bottle for $10. Unheard of!
The wines here are truly delicious. This is a must stop winery in Niagara on the Lake.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nikki K.North York, Toronto, ON15378Mar 10, 2024
First time here, what a beautiful experience and property. Came family day long weekend, with my mother and sister, it was a very cold day (would love to return to tour the grounds when it is warmer). We took part in the Premium Wine Tasting, where we ordered one of each accompaniment, charcuterie, cheeses and artisanal chocolates. Our host, Michelle, was very kind and knowledgeable about the wines. It was a lovely experience, and everything tasted great, six wines each definitely was plenty haha, the pairing were lovely. Will definitely be back in the warmer weather.

Truly a gorgeous landscape and sophisticated tasting! Hearing that Niagara's wines are sweet I was a bit apprehensive but this winery proved me wrong. My husband and I chose two different tastings- one with meat and one with cheese so we could try each others plates. The cool thing is- the wines were also different! So essentially we tried 12 different wines since we both tried each glass, it was an awesome experience. Paula was so kind and provided a great explanation of each food and wine paring. I appreciate she left us alone a good bit to enjoy our company and view and tasting. Great prices for what you get and definitely recommend. Agree with other reviews that the bathroom needs an upgrade!

Our server Mike was great and saved us from going to another winery. We initially got denied at the door because they were "fully booked" . Walked inside and there were so many empty tables.
The estate is beautiful and the back is secluded by trees. We got the gewurztmeiner, it was dry and not too sweet. The serve complimentary pretzel.
Washroom can be upgrade as it looks dated. But it was cleanHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 9, 2022
We enjoyed wine tasting on the patio here. The space is big and gorgeous - making for great photo ops on the lawn. They have a in-house chocolatier. If you like chocolate, consider getting the chocolate and wine pairing or a separate order of chocolates, or to-go too. Reservations are recommended especially on busy weekends!

Really nice winery with stunning views and expansive grounds. The tour was amazing as well, educational for novice visitors but can delve into the more detailed for more experienced folks. The tour gets you into the cellars, where you can see barrels and metal vats. With the flight tasting you get to sample various vintages and wines from various grape varieties. Kudos to Galina, the wine associate, for her presentational acumen and enthusiasm!
