Charles Pittman: Allstate Insurance

I am 55 years old and have been insured with Allstate since I learned to drive 38 years ago. I had renters insurance with Allstate and when I purchased a house 16 years ago I insured it with Allstate. In all that time I have never filed a claim, until this week.
I purchased a new car 7 years ago but kept my old truck and told them that I would be keeping it and would need to be covered. The truck was stolen a week ago and I went to file a claim and I was informed that it had been dropped from my policy. I trusted these people and evidently that was my mistake.
In my disgust, I called State Farm to get a quote and was informed, that with Allstate, I had the minimum car insurance required by law in NC and that I should increase my liability to protect myself. With the increase, their quote was still $20 a month less than what I was paying with allstate.
So not only did I get no coverage, but they gouged me in doing so.
I trusted these people to guide me through the confusing landscape of insurance and was taken for a ride. Their good hands have let me down and will never see a cent from me again.

First off, Tom is awesome. Super helpful, super responsive. However in general this is AWFUL! Never scared to reach out with emails or phone calls"Hey give us feedback so we can respond and custom this" or "hey, we might be able to lower your rates". No matter how many times I responded, I NEVER heard back. It's like they didn't want to lower my rates. Fortunately I never had to file a claim; I'd probably still be waiting. When I had the good sense to cancel my policy, the website made it seem like I owed money I didn't owe. I even got a letter talking about collection agencies. It's like they were trying to trick me out of money. I had to call the general customer service line to get it straightened out. I emailed Charles asking him to confirm it and all I got back was "Hey we may be able to lower your rates". This is after I had canceled the policy. I tried to leave a review on his website and there's no place to do that. It's an endless circle of logging into my account to his website. Which makes me wonder how those 11 people left those amazingly glowing reviews.
