Great place to stop after a day in Lynn Valley. We hiked through the park nearby, got caught in a rainstorm, and were soaked when we arrived but that's all fell by the wayside when we got cozy and settled. Drinks helped. We enjoyed a few of the Social Hound cocktails. Loved the Bellini slush. These were not too sweet but quite delicious.
Hubs and I shared a French Dip. It was devoured without a photo. Fresh bread, a good helping of beef and of course tasty aus jus. We had a side of greens and it was delicious.
We opted for the carrot cake dessert for the table. It was a bit like bread pudding, topped with frosting balls. Unusual, but it didn't stop us from digging in. It came with a caramel sauce to drizzle. We definitely ate it all, it disappeared quick.
I'd recommend this spot and I would come again if I'm in the area. Very friendly staff, quick service, lively atmosphere. My kind of place!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Michelle,
We are so happy to hear you had a great experience dining with us! We hope to see you back after a hike again sometime soon! - Mimi H.CA, United States08Apr 7, 2024
We visited 2 pubs on the outside chance we could find a place that would broadcast the March Madness Final Four playoffs. We were interested in one game. One pub's staff was adamant that they would only show Canadian hockey or baseball on their TVs. On a whim, we walked into Brown's in Lynn Valley. The manager quickly arranged to put the game on TVs at the bar, then invited us to enjoy happy hour drinks and food. She checked in with us from time to time and then brought us a dessert on the house. (Brownies with vanilla ice cream; it was divine.) We were ecstatic that we could watch the game even though no Canadian teams were playing.
I can't say enough about the warm and genuine hospitality of the Lynn Valley staff. The cold beers arrived fast, and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, like we were in a neighborhood pub. We will definitely stop by Brown's again when we are in Vancouver. Thanks to everyone for their awesome customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Good Food!
Burger was ordered with lettuce wrap for gluten-free option. They do have gluten-free buns but I opted for lettuce instead. Meat was cooked to my liking and very tasty. Burger was served with fries which were also delicious.
We also got the fish and chips which my husband said was tasty. This dish was served with tzatziki rather than the traditional tartar sauce, don't know why that was.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Came by for some takeout. This location is inside the Lynn Valley Village plaza, on the SW corner.
Parking is available in a few spots next to the building. I don't think the adjacement mall (Lynn Valley Centre) parking lot counts, so be careful.
The venue consists of a really dim bar area and a large outdoor patio in front.
Staff are friendly and professional. No complaints.
Their takeout experience was actually pretty simple. Everything was ordered from the front counter. I placed my order and was told to come back in 15 or so minutes. The experience was pretty seamless.
The Traditional Pub burger was pretty good. Nice and thick with lots of fixings. The fries were juicy (is that the right word?). Not crisp, but not soggy either. Special mention for the Heinz takeout ketchup packet. The container can be either peeled open (dip mode) or torn in a corner (squeeze mode). For some reason I found this rather fascinating. Maybe I need to get out more.
For some reason I always thought Browns had just mediocre food (possibly some bad experience in the past) but I was actually quite happy this time. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

HI Edward,

My first time at a Browns and I really enjoyed the experience!
My friend and I stopped by for dinner after hiking at the nearby Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. It was Sunday around 7 pm when we arrived, but we were able to snag the last table outside. Too bad we missed happy hour, which is daily 3-6 pm and 9-close.
The inside is spacious as well, but I liked sitting outdoors with the fresh air, especially since the outdoor tents are equipped with heat.
You can scan the barcode to get a copy of the menu. For drinks, I got a bellini ($7.75) and my friend went with an IPA. Both tasted great as a post-hike drink. For food, my friend ordered the veggie burger with fries ($17), and I went with the crispy fried chicken ramen ($18.50).
We tried to sub out the fries for onion rings, but were told that they were sold out already. We made do with the fries, but they weren't hot and crispy even when initially served. Neither of us liked them.
Luckily the entrees were better. My friend enjoyed his veggie burger, and even though my ramen was a bit unconventional with the fried chicken, it was still good and hit the spot on a cool summer evening. The miso broth wasn't my favorite, but I was happy to have a ramen option on the menu at a pub. I did think it was a bit pricey for what it was.
We ended with brownies & ice cream for dessert ($10.50), but I had no idea we'd get three brownie pieces with three generous scoops of ice cream. Definitely meant to be shared with a larger group. We were both already pretty full from our meal and could only eat a couple bites. The brownies were just okay, nothing to write home about.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

HI Dianna,
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us and provide your feedback. We are happy to hear that you had a great post hike meal and hope to see you again soon! - Sofia H.Barrington, United States01Jan 5, 2024
We were a party of 3 visiting from the United States and after a day of driving we wanted to grab a bite to eat and found this restaurant rated highly among yelp so we were excited to try it. Upon arriving we were seated outside with heaters which had a nice ambience which will end up being the only positive from this experience. We ordered cocktails and were asked for two forms of ID. We were prepared for this as we had our passports and drivers license on us. Upon showing them our two forms of ID the server had to bring another person over to verify our ID's. Our forms of identity were heavily scrutinized and after another 30 minutes of waiting they informed us they had to bring yet another person over to verify our identification. Upon our third verification we were then quizzed on our address and why we were here. Mind you we had all of our passports stating we were older than the legal drinking age of 19, and if we were able to legally enter Canada, we should've been able to get a drink. After waiting 45 minutes and three people checking our identification we still hadn't been brought water or asked if we wanted to order any food. Fast forward an underwhelming cocktail and food we were paying for our food and our server again questioned why we were visiting Canada and if America even had tap to pay in a very condescending tone and was surprised when we all used tap to pay to pay for our meal. Overall, we should've taken a hint when our legal passports were questioned and gotten out of there ASAP. I understand being careful but checking three times two very real forms of identification and being met with nothing but rude behavior is ridiculous for the price we paid for this restaurant.

Hi Sofia,
We are so sorry to hear about your disappointing service experience while dining with us. We would love to connect with you and hear more. If you are interested please email, lynnvalley@brownssocialhouse.com. - Sarah K.Vancouver, BC45860Jul 13, 2022
The interior is nice! With a large group of people it is ok so everyone can find something. I really like the interior but the food is overpriced and not the most flavourful. The lettuce wrap comes with lots of lettuce which is good but it can hardly be called kong pao. It is a nice sauce but it has nothing to do with the Chinese version. It is too expensive to the food quality you get.
