Q:
Which sauce is the mildest? And even if the mildest, would you say it still has a kick to it?
A:
All the sauces have a kick to them but the green is probably the least hot

So sad to see Biscuits closed. Now in their place is Caliente Mexican Restaurant that seems to be part of s small chain.
The food and service did decline over the last few years at Biscuits. I think we've been coming here for well over 10 to 15 years.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 8, 2022Previous reviewMuch better service today from one of the servers that has been with Biscuits for years. They were fairly busy. Only recognized one of the guys cooking. Great Waffle. scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. And they had Jamaica. They were doing a lot of carry out too.
May 29, 2021Previous reviewIt really pains me to leave a bad review about Biscuits. Today they seemed to have an over abundance of staff working. The young man that took our order took a really long time to bring out our drinks. We ordered queso and chips and never got them. They weren't on our final bill so he forgot to put the order in. We never got refills on our drinks. A customer that came in after us never got her order taken and eventually got up and just left. The staff that has been there for years need to step up and get these new people trained. Surviving the pandemic is great but not so great if poorly trained staff alienate your customers.
Aug 1, 2020Previous reviewPlaced an order on line thru the Yelp app last night after midnight for a pick up today. Was much easier then expected. Only thing is bacon is missing is from the online order form. Great Eggs Benedict and hash browns. Super happy they had Jamica again today, my favorite drink. One of the young ladies calls it Mexican Koolaid. Also great meat lovers omelette bacon, sausage, ham and cheese. Biscuits after over 10 years is still our favorite breakfast brunch go to.
Jul 18, 2020Previous reviewSpicy biscuits and gravy with a side of crispy bacon and a big cup of Jamaica. Great way to start a Saturday morning.
Apr 11, 2020Previous reviewGreat carry out breakfast today from biscuits. French toast, crisp bacon, scrambled eggs. Also a side of chips and queso for later at lunch. Don't forget your small family owned businesses, they need your help much more than the corporate carry out.
Oct 20, 2016Previous reviewBeen eating at Biscuts for over 10 years. We have never recieved bad food or bad service. Laura and all the ladies are wonderful, friendly and know exactly what at least one of us will order. ( Ham and Cheese Omelet with white toast ). It's nice to go to a local place where you can depend on great service and great food.
Mar 27, 2011Previous reviewLOVE BISCUTS!!! Servce is always great. Laura the owner knows us, knows our order and is always friendly. I have taken my Mom, Sister and her family my Brother and other family and friends here to eat. Prices are cheap. Food is good and lots of it. I don't do the mexican on the menu so I can not say how it is, but they are owned by a Hispanic couple. Drinks are always full. Plates cleared when done. We go almost every Sunday for breakfast and the place is packed. Don't go expecting the same pre-made processed items like at Appebees, O'charley's, Dennys. Local owned, family business.
Jan 31, 2010Previous reviewLove, love, love this place for no frills breakfast. Yes its small, yes the tables are too close together, but the food is great and the price is right. Drinks are kept filled. Laura the owner is friendly. The guys behind the counter keep the food cooking. This place is hopping on Sunday mornings. This is what you call a hole in the wall type place. Again no frills, dont expect carpet on the floors and a candle on the table.

This is one of my favorite breakfast places. It is not fancy but it is a fantastic! Everything I've had here is good. You can order American or Mexican food.
I recently got the chilaquiles breakfast meal with steak. It had two eggs (anyway you want), rice, beans, and your choice of sauce. I had the lovely sauce for the first time. It was really good.
We also split a half order of biscuits and gravy. Yum!
The prices here are excellent.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 12, 2022
Biscuits has a board out front advertising a new dinner service. I hadn't been in Biscuits for quite some time, so I thought we'd check it out.
We were a little nervous going in because there was no one else dining. Maybe people haven't heard about the dinner service yet?
Our fears were unfounded, though. It wasn't by any means the best Mexican meal I've ever had. But it was also very far from the worst. The services was good, the food was fresh and well prepared, and everything was clean.
I don't think it will become my go-to for Mexican cuisine in Broad Ripple. But it's definitely an option if I'm tired of my usual place or just want to take a few less steps.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 4, 2022Updated review
Biscuits Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants with great food and excellent Bloody Mary's. We love the diverse menu offering appetizers, breakfast, and lunch plus we can order one of the many, many Mexican options or stay with sandwiches such as Burgers, Breaded Tenderloins, Buffalo Chicken, and B.L.T's. Most of the Mexican categories are represented well. Regardless of your choice of breakfast or lunch, the food is delicious and the portions are generous.
Parking in front of the restaurant is very limited but lots of space in the strip mall parking area. With Sun King out of business, more spaces are close by.
As you enter stop close to the register and you'll be seated quickly if seats are available. You'll find a few seats at the counter but that area is very active. The dining area is split into two sections with large booths and 4-top tables toward the back and 4-top tables in the front dining area. Several large tables are typically together prepared for large groups.
The servers are ready to take your order right away and we find if we send them away, they take a while to return since they move on to the next customers. Most of the time we have great service with attentive and friendly servers. Of course, there's always the risk one may get overwhelmed or unorganized. This rarely happens to us, I'm happy to say.
If you enjoy Bloody Mary's order a large, spicy, or regular one. You'll thank me later. The bartender is wonderful, personable, takes pride in his work, and often delivers your cocktails. Chips and salsa can be requested if it's still fairly early in the day otherwise they are delivered when you are seated.
The servers key orders into their hand-held machines (name escapes me) and the food arrives quickly. They handle allergies and restrictive foods for the guests, well.
If you've never dined here, I recommend you give them a try. Everyone we've ever taken here has enjoyed themselves. We do!!Helpful 17Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 0Dec 27, 2020Previous reviewWe enjoy Biscuit's Cafe and try to visit often especially during the pandemic. It appears many of their loyal patrons are doing the same.
The restaurant has reduced the seating due to the Executive Order so during prime time you could find a wait. The dining area is divided into two section with 4-top tables and booths. The same counter holds a few people.
The menu is diverse with American and Mexican options and covers brunch nicely. I love having the option of a Breakfast Enchiladas or Biscuits & Gravy for breakfast. You have the options of small or large entree salads, sandwiches (some on biscuits), tortas and burgers. Breakfast entrees include waffles, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, Country Fried Steak along with omelettes and Skillets. If you're not feeling breakfast you're in luck here. The menu is full of wonderful options such as Chimichangas, burritos, tacos, fajitas and enchiladas plus more.
Be sure to check out the 7 homemade sauces listed on the menu. I enjoy sampling the different sauces. The Lovely Sauce is my go-to with just a touch of heat followed by the Adobe Sauce with peppers and Mexican spices and the Mole sauce made with peppers, chocolate, spices, plus is my favorite on enchiladas.
Try the excellent Bloody Mary's! The mix is awesome and they rim the glass with a mixture of chili powder and spices. It's marvelous!Feb 8, 2019Previous reviewWhat a cute Cafe serving delicious American and Mexician food. Afforadable prices with large portions but the burrito wasn't just large, it was humungous!
We were greeted by a friendly server who said sit anywhere. Seating is 4-top tables and booths on both sides of a divider wall separating two dining areas. Breakfast is served all day with dinner served 3:00 p.m. till close.
I ordered Huevos A La Mexicana ($9.99) with scrambled eggs mixed with onions, tomatoes, jalapenos and a touch of Lovely sauce. Served with rice, beans and corn or flour tortillas. I subbed Mexican potatoes for the rice. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. What is Lovely sauce? It's roasted tomatoes, garlic, onions, celery and cilantro with a touch of hot serrano peppers. My sauce was good and had a kick! There is a spice in the creamy refried beans I'm not a fan of but my husband likes.
My husband ordered the Burrito Texana ($10.99) which is filled with tasty shrimp, perfectly cooked steak and tender chicken with grilled onions, green, red and yellow peppers, tomatoes (minus cheese) with his choice of 3 sauces. He selected the Lovely sauce and served with fluffy, well seasoned rice and creamy beans. Our first impression of the burrito was it's HUGE! Seriously, you can easily split this! And his first bite was "OMG!! This is good!! Now his new favorite Mexican restaurant. Food was definitely 5 stars but service comes in at 4 stars.
Our food arrived timely and hot just as we had ordered. No food allergies to return during this meal. Our server was friendly and checked back on us a couple times and keep the drinks refilled. Unfortunately, she disappeared for long periods of time. When it came time to leave we continued to wait for the check. I finally lost patience and went in search of our check. When I found her she said just pay at register and she'd meet us. Which we did and all was resolved. This was the only blemish on our visit so I'm giving her 4 stars.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience, loved the food, found affordable prices and large portions with good service. We'll be returning soon. - May 22, 2022
I've been a customer at Biscuits for many years. I haven't found anything else quite like it out there. The breakfast is always really good tasting and reasonably priced.
During my most recent visit, I had the Huevos Rancheros with verde sauce and a pancake on the side. The pancake was really fluffy and the eggs, potatoes and salsa combo was really good! The only negative thing unfortunately was the service. It was obvious all the servers were inexperienced and probably were understaffed. Our server was very kind but was obviously in over their head.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 1, 2022
We went for an early birthday lunch with kids. We went on Sunday around noon and figured it would be busy. We were right!
However, we were seated fairly quickly (at a table that had been open the whole time we waited) and service came within a reasonable time and was ok. Refills weren't offered. Food arrived promptly. We had a few servers and at least one busser.
The food was good. No complaints at all about the quality or the quantity.
However, they were out of chocolate milk and Diet Coke and dinner napkins.
I've been before. I'll probably go again. For great value and good food it's a nice place to eat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 2022
A no-frills, fun, and affordable Mexican joint that specializes in breakfast. I often take my friends here after a night of fun for some late morning deliciousness or for a relaxed and interesting breakfast atmosphere. They have the usual breakfast fare like french toast, pancakes, and skillets, but they really shine with their Mexican breakfast options, like their chilaquiles and huevos ahogados. Their ranchera sauce is top-notch if you are given the option to pick. If you want to continue the festivities from the night before, they also supply alcoholic beverages like mimosas and micheladas.
I will take a point off for their spotty service that we had recently, but it's not a reason that will keep us from coming back in the future!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2021
I came here after my sister said it was good. My mom and I had breakfast on a Saturday morning and we were seated immediately. You wouldn't know by the name but it is a mexican restaurant. The breakfast was mexican inspired a mixed both cuisines. Some of the breakfasts came with rice and beans which is different....
I didn't end up choosing an option with mexican food but I would like to next time. It all sounded so delicious!
Our waiter was really nice and timely. Really good experience overall!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 19, 2022
I've only ever been here for brunch! Everything I have tried has been very good. I love their Iced Coffee too. Food is amazing, but it's generally very busy. We usually wait a long time for food and even to just get our drinks.
I have gotten a skillet and a quesadilla and I preferred the quesadilla. The portions are huge so you're always bound to have more leftover!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 5, 2021
This place is such a surprise! By the name, you probably wouldn't guess that it's a Mexican restaurant. They do an amazing and affordable breakfast, offering everything from huevos rancheros to breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, French toast, breakfast enchiladas, and more. They also offer menu items from the grill such as quesadillas, salads, fish, burgers, and more if you come in for lunch.
The service here is super quick and the portions are huge. You can get a massive breakfast for about $10. Enjoy!Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0
