What a nice surprise to dine at Amrit, which my friends and I gladly name AM I RIGHT?
Place has a tacky decor, but the service is kind and warm. They greeted us very friendly and took us to a table right beside the heater, very nice of them to keep us warm in the cold Berlin winter.
Cocktails are as cheap as it gets. I have never seen a Long Island Ice Tea for as little as €6 euro. If you want to be a bit more classy, there are options for €4. Obviously I went ahead and got one.
We also ordered veggie samosas and pork samosas to start, followed by garlic naans. As I main I ordered the chicken tikka, which was one of the most expensive items on the menu €10 -- it was so big that we should have shared the dishes.
One of my friends got the lamb spinach, with was so smooth and juicy, I had a bit of food envy. The other one was traditional and got a chicken curry. Everything was very tasty.
Bill came out to be €20 per person, which I find remarkably cheap considering the amount of food we had.
I would certainly come back here, and so should you. AM I RIGHT?Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Philip Y.Frankfurt, Germany3239Oct 17, 2020
A year and a half in Germany and this was the best service we experienced in a restaurant. The food was great as well, everything had a comfortable spice level and the meat was super tender. The price was really reasonable. The added bonus was outdoor seating on a chilly night next to a heating lamp. We look forward to our next visit!

Location: Next to the subway in a really nice street where you can find lots of cool bars
Atmosphere: It is a chain so the look it's not a typical Indian restaurant. Its got a modern-like style. There is terrace service
Service: Great. Always asking if you need anything else, and bringing you more rice as soon as you finish your bowl. Brought us some vodka shots at the end.
Value for money: Competitive prices. A dish for 14€ can be shared by two people
Quality: Top
Ideal for: groups of friends/couples/familiesHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The food was ok but not spicy enough. Neutral food.
We got a shot after we payed but the Glas was broken.
The really bad part tho was, when 2 waiters ran after us and accused us, in a very rude and loud way (in de middle of the sidewalk with people around) that we didn't pay!
They didn't even asked, just yelled that we didn't pay.
Later a waitress came outside and apologized that it was her mistake...the rude waiter didn't even came out again to apologize.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelsey G.Hollywood, United States5136Jan 2, 2017
Great atmosphere and wonderful authentic Indian food! For only about 20 euros, we had soup, salad, entrees and beer for 2 people. They also gave us a complimentary shot at the end of the meal. The restaurant is very cozy and staff was very friendly!

An affordable and known indian restaurant in Berlin.
Food, service and location made me feel the quality is clearly high for the price.
My first impression was the dinner was a lot more digestible than i expected.
Main courses are served with basmati rice and side salad.
My favourite: mix of chicken and lamb meat from the tandoori oven; Lentil soup.
4 Euro on all cocktails. A lot of people goes there even just because of that. Alcohol free cocktails also available.
highs: service, price, spice quality, digestibility
lows: bouncer-style waiters standing on the sidewalk and offering you a tableHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (symone…)Berlin, Germany215Feb 4, 2009
It never goes wrong at Amrit. The curry is nothing to write home about, but it holds a certain standard and the decor gives you a certain amount of that Bollywood sensation you have been waiting for all week in the office. Amrit is a nice and inexpensive place to go and gear up for a night out.
Cocktails are always in happy hour mode, the currys is hot and the garlic Naans are in fact, very good.
Its pretty much your classical cheesy indian restaurant that does not blow your mind, but fulfills your curry needs at an affordable cost.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Amselr…)Berlin, Germany014Jan 11, 2010
Looks like a bit of a tourist trap, but a friend of mine wanted to have dinner there tonight, so in we went. Three obnoxious waiters herding us in was a turn off, but it was warm inside, both temperature and decor/lighting wise, so I contentedly took my seat.
I ordered the palak paneer. It could have possibly been quite tasty, but the overwhelming saltiness of the dish ruined any subtle spice that may have also been lurking in there. Having eaten at other Indian restaurants in Germany with salty food, I was a bit disappointed, though not completely surprised; I ate a portion of my food and washed it down with my beer.
Our waiter was at best inattentive and at worst, downright rude. Apparently it is indeed a tourist trap and Bobby (name from receipt) didn't expect us to be coming back! Rightly so, as I won't be!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Artem G.Helsinki, Finland3012518Oct 22, 2014
