This location is in a food court so I stepped in for a quick lunch as it is the closest place with reasonable prices to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The staff was really friendly and helpful.
I got the Saturday lunch special for $6.99 - it had rice, naan, butter chicken and chickpea curry.
I found the food quite bland. I didn't think that one could ever say that about Indian food!
The naan seemed to be more Greek style pita than naan. It was dry, old and reheated.
Lastly, I ordered the kulfi which was $3,99 plus tax, took one bite and threw it out - it was the cheap stuff that was priced at the price point of the real kulfi.
I won't be going back here.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yamini S.Berkeley, United States321Jun 25, 2019
Their chai is super authentic and aromatic. Has ginger, cinnamon and cardamom. They also offer Indian breakfast like idly, poha in the morning.

The restaurants in the Simcoe place are all pretty terrible. But this one is really one notch below bad. The chicken was so firm I couldn't cut it with the plastic knife. The pea salad tasted of mold. The curry was cold. Everything just tastes bad. And industrial nan breads.
It's also expensive, for a meal between $10 and $14. I never do that, because I hate to waste food, but everything ended up into the garbage, where it belonged.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Claude A.Toronto, ON010May 2, 2019
Unbelievably bad! I had the lunch special (a beef curry). The price seemed reasonable. First, the rice was badly overcook - mush! They gave me tons mushy rice. They topped it with the curry. No vegetables nothing but shredded fatty meat. The curry was terrible. It was sour and otherwise bland. I also had a naan. I had better store-bought naans! Overall, a very disappointing meal. My bad experience was confirmed by colleagues of Indian and Sri Lankan origins.
Never again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bala G.Aurora, ON0512Feb 14, 2018
Update:
Change from 2-star to 1-star review.
I tried this place one more time and totally regret it. Same lousy service but this time the added bonus of a hair in my curry. NASTY.

Actually thought the food is ok here (for food court Indian food). It's convenient if you work close by. What turned me off was the service. The people that work there are curt and when asked questions, they will respond but not actually answer your questions. A bit frustrating, and not worth the bother with so many other lunch choices available.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Prathna R.Toronto, ON2045017Feb 6, 2019
If I could put down a 0 star I would. DO NOT GO HERE. When I'm paying above 15$ for a meal I expect something to taste better than something that should cost 2$. No real naan bread - store bought pita heated. Broken pieces of papad. Meager quantities. Raita had a disgusting amount of sugar in it, it was confusing. And to top it all, the service was just awful. Could've skipped a meal instead of going here!!

I placed an order here through an online ordering app but when I arrived here I was told they didn't support the app despite the all clearly listing their exact address. Have never had this problem with the app before either, they should have removed themselves from the app when they decided to stop supporting it.

This place is horrible!!
The food is not good and the staff is extremely rude, unfriendly and has loads of attitude.
I went there quite a few times and wasn't happy but I kept ignoring and went on with my business but recently I went there for breakfast and the guy was just sitting on one of the tables and playing with his phone. When I asked if they had anything for breakfast, he did not bother to look up and replied NO. I asked a follow up question and he did not even answer. I stood there for a few seconds to see if he would answer but he did not.
If there were negative rating in yelp, I would give that to this place.
I will never go this place again. There are far better places in the area than this one.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John C.Old Toronto, Toronto, ON04May 15, 2017
Awful. Had the Butter Chicken and it tasted more like dry chicken chunks with cheap, canned tomato sauce. No Butter Chicken taste at all. Samosa was salty. Never going back.

Had chicken tikka masala, which was quite good, but the rice was awful - mushy and unsalted. The side of lentils was equally flavourless.
Fast and friendly, and points for the chicken, but the rest of it? meh.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
