Arriving around noon on a weekday for a quick lunch after a morning event. Parking on the street was relatively easy, the interior was a little dated but kept clean and cozy. All six of us ordered the bento box, although there were only two other tables occupied, our food took a while to come because the large number of take out orders keeping the chef and waitress very busy.
The two item bento boxes were all $14 each, additional charges of $1 or $2 for salmon or steak.
The complimentary miso soup was decent and not overly salty. Rice, salad, edamame and pickled ginger were served with all the bento in addition to the choices. I enjoyed my sashime (2 slices each of salmon and white tuna) and the grilled salmon, others appeared to all like the tempura, chicken teriyaki, sushi roll and grilled mackerel and etc. Everything tasted clean, fresh with decent portion. The homemade salad dressing was excellent, tasted was in between a miso and thousand island with a pleasant citrus note. We decided to buy some to take home.
Will be back to try the sashimi omakase or other fancier offerings.

I ordered two sushi rolls and chicken kaarage for delivery. The delivery driver was very friendly, but a few minutes later, when I opened my delivery,, the chicken was missing. I had already waited a little more than half an hour for the food (I paid for express service).

As far as the sushi rolls, the spicy tuna was probably a seven out of 10. The spider roll, which I've had dozens of times from dozens of other places, was mediocre. In fact, I think I may have gotten better from the supermarket. It was probably a five out of 10.

Overall, I would probably give the place to stars. In other words, not worth a return order.

Aji Ichi Japanese Restaurant is a solid choice for a Japanese dining experience in the city. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is attentive. Their menu offers a good selection of authentic Japanese dishes, all made with fresh ingredients. From sushi to ramen, the food is tasty and well-prepared.

I particularly enjoyed their sashimi platter; the fish was fresh and flavorful. The staff were friendly and provided helpful recommendations. Whether you're out for a date or a casual dinner with friends, Aji Ichi is a great option for satisfying your Japanese food cravings!

Zach and I always walked by this place and had been wanting to try out Aji Ichi for some time.

Inside, the restaurant is fairly small. We got the last table for two tucked in the corner. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a table of kids and their parents/older relatives kept going in and out since the adults were gambling at Artichoke Joe's across the street...so our meal that day was pretty noisy since the staff didn't say anything to that table about their noise level.

      Here's what we got:

      - 4 season roll (to share)
      - Dinner Combo 1: Mixed tempura and california roll (his)
      - Dinner Combo 2: Gyoza and chicken teriyaki (mine)

We were given complimentary edaname to snack on while we waited for the food. We had to ask for water to be given to us. A miso soup and a salad was given to us before the bentos arrived. The 4 Season Roll was pretty good but not outstanding. The bentos were pretty generic. The chicken was cooked well enough and not dry. The gyoza was a lot more crispier than I liked. Overall, Aji- Ichi is just an okay place for Japanese cuisine.

After several years this is still The Place to dine. Friendly service and still excellent sushi. Ankimo for an appetizer with Ozeki Karatamba an awesome start to my meal. My Saba an hamachi hara were outstanding. This spot is like several in Tokyo or Osaka. Very much in the Japanese sense.
      What an amazing experience here.

Well I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while , finally got the chance. Nice place clean and plenty of parking.

Food was lack luster. The chicken karage was hot but not crispy. Lacked flavor. The wife I believe got the mango roll, I had the toro roll. Well the mango was tasty , but the toro roll , took forever to come to the table. When it came it was chopped toro, and was almost frozen , kinda like a slurpy. This roll being one of the more expensive rolls on the menu , did not hold up to the price. I would not order it again.

Funny thing also later that evening, felt like I ate a bunch of msg. Because I was really thirsty.

      Simple dinner

Numerous tables and a few seats at the sushi bar greets guests to this restaurant. We had a guest who was visiting from Japan and he wanted to take us to a Sushi Dinner. He also wanted to sit at the bar, which is L-shaped. It could probably accommodate two people on the short leg and maybe four on the long leg. We were three so we took over the long leg.

In order to avoid getting overly detailed, I will say that in general, the sashimi and nigiri that we ordered was okay. This was not our first experience to a Sushi-ya and we've also sat at the bar numerous times. Besides being able to watch your dinner being prepared, you can often converse with the chef's while they work.

Our chefs were in constant motion, even when there were no orders coming in, but conversation was minimal, and they didn't speak Japanese so that eliminated any chance of conversation between our guest and staff. I even had our server send a beer to the chefs to see if that would create more noise, but no.

The rice used in the sushi seemed to have two problems. One was that it was not a short-grained rice. Closer to medium or long grain. This changes the mouthfeel as the texture is different. The second issue is that the seasoning blend was too vinegary. That will also affect the texture. Short grain rice is also a little stickier so the rice holds together better.

The fish had good flavor and that kept the meal on point. While this was not the best Japanese food that I've had, I would return as a guest of someone else if this is where they wanted to go.

This was our first time at this restaurant and i am blown away by the service and quality of food! Definitely order the omakase (you won't regret it, i promise). The ambiance is very homey and comfortable, kind of like a family style restaurant. Will definitely be coming back!

I noticed this restaurant was a four star, I'm not sure how unless it's the sushi. I ordered the lunch special of two item combo, that was beef teriyaki and tempura and the tempura batter was all flour on the inside of the broccoli, gross. The batter from the other tempura vegetables just fell right off. Won't be going there again.
      The lady was nice though

It was fine. Nothing special. The combination udon (chicken, tempura, etc) looked fantastic and I loved the meat, but the soup was pretty plain. The chicken katsu was good, maybe a little dry. And the two item bento: the short ribs were tasty but rather skimpy and the teriyaki chicken was slightly dry. But the portion size was good for the price. They appear to do a lot of sushi takeout. And the waiter service was slow, like waiting for someone to take our order, because of the high takeout volume, I think. But the kitchen food prep was fast at least.
