We stopped by for some ice cream the other night and we liked it. The ice cream they serve is Giffords and it's pretty good! There are some other local stands that make their own ice cream which is cool but this one is close by and we wanted to try it. I got the Wild Blueberry and my wife got the Muddy Boots. $3 for a small and it came with a decent amount in it.
They actually have a lot of food items which was surprising. We were the only ones there that ordered ice cream. Everyone else was ordering food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike T.Hadley, United States182Sep 3, 2018Updated review
I am updating my review at the request of a farmstand employee who is also a family member who owns the farm and stand. She assured me that her father the farmer is the Trump supporter and not her or her other family members. She wrote that the sign was her father's idea and he removed it at their request. This review is based on the food and facilities only.
I ordered a steak and cheese sub, and fries. The ladies behind the counter were friendly, the service was prompt, and the food was good. The sandwich was seasoned well but could have used a little more cheese, the fries were not coated or seasoned, and were hot and crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. I walked around a bit and the offerings in the farm stand looked fresh and healthy. I did not have any ice cream, but I have had Gifford's before in other places and I am sure it's as good as it usually is. I will return for another lunch and will amend my review if needed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Aug 1, 2018Previous reviewI'll not go there ever again. They are Trump supporters who hung a TRUMP banner during the election. Vote with your wallet when possible.

5J has become a summer tradition for us! When it comes to food, you can taste the freshness in everything, and items are made to order.
On to the main attraction (at least for us): the ICE CREAM. If you have yet to try their amazing variety of flavors (Giffords brand, I believe) do yourself a favor! The "Graham Central" is always a must, deliciously creamy with graham cracker flavor. Other fave: Muddy Bean Boots
Round out your 5J experience by enjoying your ice cream on one of their adorable adirondack chairs - perfect place to take a moment to relax and indulge on a beautiful summer day!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer H.Windsor, United States68768Aug 24, 2012First to Review
Oh boy! Just thinking of the fries that we got from this place get's me excited. While visiting a friend, we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into when we decided to go to the local ice cream place where they served a small selection of foods - hamburgers, hot dogs, fried bologna, fries, Philly cheese steak, etc. Could have been really bad, but it all worked out perfectly.
They offered a large seating area with an eclectic variety of chairs to get settled into while enjoying your ice cream or choice of sinful delight. Always a plus to a place to sit when your hands are full, even nicer to have an option when doing so. This unique little spot on the side of a country road settled on the side of farmlands offered a small "farm stand" style of store where you could purchase a variety of fresh veggies. Our friend said the corn was super sweet and delectable so she was quick to purchase more before leaving.
Three of us had burgers, fries, and refreshments for $24! Clearly the price is right and all of the food was highly enjoyable. I was teasing my husband about going back for more fries before going home. Definitely a home run there...can't wait to go visit our friend as now we have an incredible excuse - fresh cut, crispy fries and good ice cream! Well done 5J!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 453461328Aug 26, 2013
Please note that the address to this place is on river road in Whatley. This is a great place; I found this via yelp during my trip from DC. Outdoor seating is lovely. We had a summer squash stuffed with rice, burgers, a BLT, and Fries. All very tasty. Ice cream is great - from Maine. This also doubles as a farm stand where they sell produce, local honey, and more. Lots of local flavor and charm.

Funny I have never eaten here, but I gladly spend a lot of money at the farm stand.
The real wildflower honey is incredible, zucchini relish is crazy good on almost anything, jams, jellies, especially the hot pepper jelly. Great produce too, I think a 50 pound bag of potatoes was 10 bucks.
This is place is one of my first stops when in MA.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Laurie H.Montague, United States06Sep 20, 2018
I love this family owned business.
Great food, beautiful atmosphere, & friendly staff, what more can you ask for.
As for the Trump sign, everyone should be able to voice their political opinion.
To be pressured to remove the sign is suppression of his freedom of speech.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Fin H.Norwood, United States109160May 17, 2014
Awesome ice cream - try the Appalachian Trail which is banana ice cream (yeah surprised me too) with chocolate shavings and honey cashew nuts all mixed in, amazing.
Where else can you immediately redeem yourself by buying a fresh bunch of fresh asparagus spears to redeem yourself ?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cindy B.Brooklyn, United States0277Aug 12, 2017
My husband and I stopped at this cute little spot for a quick bite. The chili dogs tasted like they were given TLC, and not just your ordinary. Ice cream was creamy too! It was the perfect summer evening drive stop. Will be back!
