I can't believe I haven't written a review for 43rd St Deli yet - this is my favorite breakfast/brunch place in town! The specials are different each weekend, always unique, and always delicious. But the classics are good too! I love their black bean cakes - the portions are huge.
The servers are wonderful- I love places where you can tell the servers have a good time, and this is one of them. It has strong deli breakfast, old school vibes with electric signs, a bar top, table, and booths. Tip: get here early on the weekend with your whole party! It's worth the wait, but we're all happier when we don't have to wait so long.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 6, 20242 check-ins
If you're in Gainesville, FL and you're looking for a unique spot for brunch, go check out 43rd St Deli and Breakfast House.
They do have your breakfast staples like omelettes, pancakes, waffles, and Benedicts, but every once in a while, they run a special like what I got today.
This is the Hulk Hogan Hash. On paper, this thing seems absolutely ridiculous. It's a hash made with hash browns or home fries, smoked bacon crumbles, diced apples, melted brie, and topped with chili crunch, micro greens, and honeycomb.
But let me tell you something, brother...this hash must have had its vitamins and said its prayers because it was fantastic. Everything just worked. The sweet apple and honeycomb complimenting the spicy chili crunch was like taking a Big Boot to my tastebuds. The hash browns and brie was the final Leg Drop and I was pinned 1, 2, 3, begging for mercy.
So whatcha gonna do, brother, when this Hulk Hogan Hash RUNS WILD ON YOU!!!
If you ever see this on their menu as a special, order it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Caroline B.Gainesville, United States44546May 10, 2024

Found this gem on Yelp while on vacation. This breakfast was HUGE and tasty. The pancakes were literally the size of my face! The sausage was good and the eggs were light and fluffy. Had I know the pancakes were so big I would have only gotten one but no regrets! Everything was ready in a timely fashion. Would definitely visit again if I come back to the area.

I always look forward to see what new creation is on the specials sheet. Last week they had a peach biscuit bites with caramel and pecans. Service is always great. They have staff that have been with them several years. Locally owned and locally loved.

Such a cute place for brunch. Waffle combos are decently priced and I had no problems switching items out i.e. hash browns instead of eggs. Server Daniel was awesome, service was quick, and food came out hot.

The food is great here and despite it being packed during brunch, we were seated quickly.
The biscuits are big 'n' fluffy and you probably shouldn't leave without one! I ordered a chicken biscuit off the extensive and imaginative specials menu and wasn't disappointed! The servings are also quite substantial.
I DO just have to take off one star because they weren't able to accommodate my husband's dairy and nut allergies even though we've been to many diners and restaurants that can easily do so.
While our server tried his best to help us, my husband ended up having a reaction and couldn't eat his meal. We eat out all the time and this only happens once in a blue moon, so I would like to see the restaurant work a little harder on being allergy friendly to at least some degree.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
